    I have a female Retic that does the exact same thing once in a blue moon. Like you said it's all about reading their behavior. Take your time guys. Great video!!

      Yup, our snakes will tell us exactly what to do, we just have to learn their language.

    “Really easy as that.” lol. I like how you keep it real. So many retic videos on YT are all puppies and Roses.

      Thank you! It does seem like too often they are either portrayed as either puppy dogs or man-eating monsters...not too much about the middle ground :-)

    Cool video, dude. From someone who owns 12 Retics, I’m glad you’re keeping it real. Showing that these are great animals but they ain’t for everybody. And most importantly ; snakes aren’t our friends and they’re not to be 100% trusted. Once someone trusts a snake they’ve lost respect for what it’s capable of doing. And that’s when accidents happen.

    You should do a lot more of these videos as often as possible

    Great video! So nice to get to see a proper example, I like to think that if you are handling/managing snakes properly most people will consider it boring because nothing happens and they see how docile snakes are.

      Thanks! That's the challenge of taking what I think is the proper approach to snake videos, the crazy stuff gets the views but typically if you're doing it right there's rarely any crazy stuff.

    I do NOT love snake bite videos. Not at all. Well done, managing. Was he hungry? He didn't seem angry to me, but rather looking for food?

    • @IntrepidExotics
      @IntrepidExotics  22 дня назад

      Possibly hungry, he is always a little obstinate at first until he gets out though :-)

    You've just given me another reason to subscribe to and watch hid channel Tim. It's because YOU put your money where your mouth is. There are hundreds of videos in here that show us realistic stuff. There's people that like to show horrible stuff😖. Stupid wreckless and dangerous stuff. There are experts and reptile Wizards like Kevin at NERD and Dingo! And then there are GREAT and intelligent people like you and Clint and Kenan. I don't think I've ever watched a video on how to read the body language of an agitated or defensive 15' Python... you are something else Tim. You've already shown us how to handle bites with your new Shrealonc... oh crap. I can't spell the kind of snake Bob is... all that matters in this case is.. he mostdefinitely a python and he most definitely bites ...You!!😅😅.
    Sorry.. it's just.. if you didn't TELL US you had just gotten butten or musked...we wouldn't know it coz you handle it like a true Black Belt snake Guru!! My point is.. you're going to put your money where..."the teeth go" so people with big snakes with attitudes can learn something VERY Important.!! I don't own any snakes but... if i did.. I'd want a lil hog nose or an eyelash viper. Both are such facialy beautiful. I'm not into the whole. "Just let them know whose in charge!!" Kinda gig. Nope! No sir.... not my passion.

    Are male retics harder to deal with than females?

    • @IntrepidExotics
      @IntrepidExotics  3 месяца назад +1

      They can be a little moodier around breeding but outside of that not really

      In your opinion, what is a better big snake species for someone looking to get into big snakes ?

    • @IntrepidExotics
      @IntrepidExotics  3 месяца назад +1

      My personal opinion is that retics are the smartest, most interactive of the big snakes. Burms can be great as well, but from a handling and interaction standpoint I honestly think retics are the best to work with.

      From a bite perspective, how often does it happen, and what kind of damage are we looking at from a male retic or burm ?

    • @IntrepidExotics
      @IntrepidExotics  3 месяца назад

      It really depends...if it's managed right or an easy bite from even a big 14'+ snake it can be minor, same size snake with a bad bite can get nasty. I know it's not a clear answer really, but there's a big spectrum depending on circumstances.
