    I have just subscribed because I love snakes, especially Burmese Pythons. I live in New England and would never abandon my non native snakes or land snails outside. I have an Albino Het Granite, Het Green Burmese Python. Thank you for featuring the Burmese. My male Burmese never was defensive with me. He is growing quickly. The Classic pattern of your female is gorgeous.

It's just sad what they're doing to the other animals out there. what happened to them is so sad...It's just not their fault!! Oh! You just said something that I've not heard before.. i have a brand new carpet that wont eat. i noticed early in the video you mentioned your burm didnt eat for two months and you ended up force feeding. at what point did you determine it was time to force feed?

    • @IntrepidExotics
      @IntrepidExotics  5 месяцев назад

      It's not an exact science for sure, but I spent a lot of time trying every method I could and when it became clear she just didn't get the concept of eating after a couple-few weeks I just started the cycle of force feeding one week, offering the next, force feeding the following week, offering the next until she figured it out. I gave her enough time between force feedings to ensure she would be hungry and eventually she started on her own and has done great ever since. When it's clear they just aren't getting it as babies I don't wait until they show physical signs to start getting meals in em because that's the time they need to be sucking down food to develop.

    • @IntrepidExotics
      @IntrepidExotics  2 года назад +1

      I'll start thinking about that one, will take some time compiling some different bite videos which I am really cautious about putting out but I'm sure there's a way to do it without it looking too much like snake fear mongering, if that makes sense. I don't want to give the anti-snake people ammo so they can say "see, even the snake people say they're dangerous". It's a good idea, will just take some time coming up with the right delivery. I do have the one vid out that talks about the Byrchec(sp) bite that goes into it slightly though

    • @IntrepidExotics

    Quick question, is it safe to handle a snake that big alone? So many people said any large constrictor longer than 6 feet shouldn't be handled along.

    • @IntrepidExotics
      @IntrepidExotics  2 года назад +5

      The correct answer is No, definitely want 2 people for snakes that size. handling animals that size alone is worst case scenario if a bite occurs. Typically with a bite one person controls the head to avoid slicing and the other unwraps it. One person alone will often struggle controlling the head and uncoiling at the same time which can result in slashing wounds much worse than simple small punctures.
