This is the best tutorial I have seen on RUclips, bar none, and I have watched them all, yes, even Kathy's. You even show how to add as many pages as we want, something I really wanted to know, thank you so much. Your way is so simple, not confusing at all, I won't have any more anxiety when it comes to the binding. Cudos to you, I am subscribing to see what else you do. Genius!
I'm laying in bed watching this with NO sound and still understood every bit of it AND better than any other instruction I've seen. Including Kathy Orta's! Haha. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I watch most videos on "mute" as I'm usually also watching TV or listening to the radio (& some crafters are way too chatty). I just spent $5 @ AliExpress on a mini binding die that I now wish I didn't buy because these instructions are so easy to follow.
I always wondered how to create these bindings. Just never wanted to watch super long vids to find out. Thanks for keeping this short and to the point. Easy tutorial. TFS
We used this type of hinge in elementary school 50 years ago. However, my old brain did not retain the specs. I can't believe someone is trying to claim they invented something that has been around as long as paper. Yours is the most concise and memorable explanation I have seen so far. Thanks!
Of all the hidden binding system tutorials, this has GOT to be the easiest thus far. I was all thumbs with the others I've tried; too many steps when yours comes out looking the same exact way, but I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this one. I can't wait to get home tonight to test it out. Actually, I tried it here at my desk with a piece of paper, measuring it the best I can with my ruler and scoring it with -- and get this -- my envelope opener! And, with a little glue stick (because I don't have Scor tape with me), I was able to achieve it. I totally get it now. OMG, I'm so excited. Thank you so much for keeping it simple and yet workable!
I'm so glad to hear that!! Yay, I hope you get to start making some beautiful minis using this binding. have fun and thanks for watching and for your encouraging words...C
Great tutorial, you made it look nice & easy, I've not tried to make a book this way yet so now I feel inspired cos it looks simple enough, even for us newbie crafters...TFS...Ann...x
I just came across this and have to say this is the easiest explanation and demonstration I've seen of this technique I've seen. I'm a very visual person and need to see exactly what's being done. THANK YOU.
THANK YOU!! I was trying so hard to learn this and you made it SO easy! I was watching another video and it went so fast and I couldn't see her score marks and it was so frustrating. You rocked this for me! TFS!!!! :)
thank you for actually using your pen to darken the lines, I have vision problems and I could not make any sence out of anyone tutorials as I couldnt see them. I now understand how to do it, as I was at a loss unless I was being shown hands on. Thank you again for making such a simple use of a pen to help us who have vision impairments, able to now make these without help of others. God Bless You!
lilsassysis Thanks so much for watching, and I'm so glad the tutorial helped you. I hope you make beautiful things!! Have a great great day, Candace Thank you for watching
After I watched your ypp swap where you took their pages and made the mini I searched and watched videos, glad you did this yours was faster and the easiest to understand. Jennifer
awesome tutorial :) I have been wanting to do that... but have not had time, I love how you made it seem so easy and quick... I might just give it a try now. Just gotta find a faster way to finish the mini album pages too, lol.
Newbie here! And I mean newbie, only buying supplies haven't even started a N album but been practicing the hidden hinge and I've had a horrible time of it with other tutorials. You made it so stinking easy!!!!!! MUAH!!!!
Thanks for sharing this tutorial! I now know what I was doing wrong before....! Even though my hinges were working, it didn't end up on the one side as evenly. Thanks!
Candace, Thank you so much for giving Kathy Orta her credit. She worked so hard on that hinge and is now copy writing it. This video was so easy to understand and easy to keep the measurements in your head. Using the pen was a huge help in understanding the sequence. You did an awesome job and thanks for taking the time to share with us. You go girl! Love your videos.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. This is something we did in school. I couldn't understand it lol. You make it easy. If I wanted to do alot of embellishment, do I still go with a 1/4 inch gusset? Would you do 1/2 inch gussets?
Really Kathy Ortga King given credit for something that's been around, quite possibly before was even born. And she applied for a copyright for this technique---should be unethical on her part. Just saying. I'll give credit where's it due but not to someone who stole the idea and claim as her own and copyright as hers,
Hi Carolyn, I'm not sure if it's hers or not, someone else commented that I should give her credit for it so I put that in the description, it does seem a bit far to go to get it copyrighted though.
Kathy actually patented this, "system" as she refers to it and charges $199.00 for the license if you want to use it in your tutorials or books you sell. I guess I should get a patent for the way I use my glue ;) crazy.
Finally, I don't need a PHD to put a project together. You are a life saver. Thank you so much.
Kathryn Bates It's not rocket science after all!! =D thanks for watching and commenting, best wishes on your project...xo

Let's see.... the score lines will be: Start at 25cm, then score 6cm,, 12 cm, 12 cm, for each page. Ending with 6cm. Hope this helps!!

Can anyone please tell how to make a pocket page for 12*12album
Thank you! Thank you ...for making this so very easy and understandable!! I just subscribed to your Channel also!
could you please tell how to stick sheets to these hinges..
Hi, in the description box (click Select More above) there is a link to do just that!! Thanks!!
Candace Scarborough thank you 😊
Candace Scarborough what if i donot make pocket style pages of my scrapbook.. could u tell in that case also..
Hi, then you would attach the pages to the front of the hinge, and not put tape on both sides of it., in this case the hinge will no longer be hidden.
Amazing how fast things really can be once you get the hang of it.
Okay, still the best hidden hinge tutorial!
+Melody Toolson thank you so much, easy peasy
you say two halves?!?! that equals one whole. do you have the exact measurements for this please?? thanks so very much! i appreciate your time.
This is the best video ever I completely understand now

Thank you so much for this tutorial. This is something we did in school. I couldn't understand it lol. You make it easy. If I wanted to do alot of embellishment, do I still go with a 1/4 inch gusset? Would you do 1/2 inch gussets?
Louisa Tanner I’d do 1/2 inch with a lot of 3D embellishments. Thank you so much for watching
Thanks for watching Vivian!!! Hope you make a mini and try this easy technique...Hugs C

Sharon Davisson hi Sharon. 2 half inches.

Now crafters n stampers are running behind patency, it is a common trend nowadays.
Kathy actually patented this, "system" as she refers to it and charges $199.00 for the license if you want to use it in your tutorials or books you sell. I guess I should get a patent for the way I use my glue ;) crazy.
