Goop - Ha I thought I was the only one who used words like that. Thank you for this tutorial I always love new techniques for binding books. Your sister is going to love this book. You always make the best minis.
that was so easy to follow thanks so much I was getting really frustrated with the way I was doing it I needed more hands but your way seems so much easier thanks for sharing from down under
Tracy, thanks so much for sharing this awesome binding technique. I was tired of my minis looking like a big V. LOL! I also love watching all your other tutorials! so inspiring! I just subscribed. Christine :)
This is a wonderful tutorial! I make a lot of mini albums and by the time embellishments and pictures are put in, they don't close well. Love this! Thank you for the easy to follow tutorial!
I cannot wait to try this. Thank you SO much for sharing. I make mini albums and then I start adding embellishments and they expand the entire book and doesn't look as well as I'd like. I believe this will solve that little problem.
How weird is that, I was at Archivers starting on a mini yesterday and used the exact same technique to paint my edges! I often fussy cut, but just didn't feel like it! Love the binding technique!
Love it! Thanks for sharing :) I will try it and the painting the chip board was a GREAT idea....i tried chalking and got grrrr with it thanks I will try your way thanks again :)
Hi Tracy, thank you so much for the video. I can't wait to make my own...what type of tape did you use? It looked to be double sided and would be much easier to manipulate...I can't wait to purchase the materials!!!
Thank you for sharing this technique. I was wondering if there is any way you can do the binding in a lighter color for me. I have a hard time seeing, and I was not able to see which way the pleats were placed onto the pages. I would greatly appreciate it. TFS and God Bless.
Great tutorial!! What paint did you use? Please let us see the compleated album before you give it away to your sister. I'm wanting to make on for my Grand-daughter. Thanks
I don't have book binding, could I use Tyvek (sorry if it's spelt wrong) or does it have to be paper? Sorry to bother you but I've never made a scrapbook so I don't want to use the wrong material. Thanks. You are so patient with your tutorials. Really inspiring.
I don't understand how I didn't receive your message....I'm so sorry....yes you can use Tyvek material...I have yet to use this, but my friend swears by it.
Can you please tell me what the book binding scraps you got are made of? It's obviously stronger than paper. Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I've always thought something like this would be too complicated to try. You've explained it so well, I want to try it. Fingers crossed.
I'm so new and so confused. Did you just use one binding for the whole book? Or did you do that for each page? I know, I'm sorry but I tried to rewarxh it.
I used a new piece of binding for each open page. So when you had your book open, one piece of binding held the two pages together. Then you flip the page and another piece of the binding held the next two pages together. Not sure if I explained it well, but that is how it is done.
I'm not being negative AT ALL. But....the title is called an Expandable Binding. I don't understand how this will allow for more pages to be added. Am I just being dense? Thank you for your video.
wease rainey not dense at all. Expandable in this sense means that the binding expands like an accordion. So more embellishments and photos can be added to the existing pages. Hope I explained well enough. 😀
@TracysTreasures24 Really, a nasty comment? i just don't get people. You know, why waste so much effort being nasty? I just don't get it! You are fabulous girl, who cares about one angry person projecting on you. Keep up the fabulosity~~ Brigitte xx

I am sorry, I have missed a lot of my messages 😢. It is a material like binding, but is really durable...it is on the spine of most hardcover books.

Just wondering what kind of paper you use for your hinges?
Can we see this one when it's finished please? :o)

What type of paint are you using? I tried a poster paint but it left the chipboard feeling icky and rough.

Thank u so much !!

I just used acrylic paint to paint the edges of the book.
You can purchase them even at a dollar store I have noticed :)

@TracysTreasures24 Oh sweety, in Portugal I doubt we will ever get a Micheals here! :( We don't have any of your wonderfull craft shops! It's so sad.
is it also okay if it's not mini album like larger than that?? :-)
+nicelyn abillon I am sure it would work as well…but make sure you use a really strong adhesive.
