  • An antique piece of Lalique glass signed ‘R. Lalique’ has a very different value and desirability to a piece simply signed ‘Lalique’
Rene Lalique died in 1945 and after his death the factory started marking their glass simply ‘Lalique’ During Rene’s lifetime, the glass was stamped ‘R.Lalique’ Therefore, if you find a piece of Lalique signed R.Lalique, then you know it was made before 1945…crucial information to know. Pre 1945 pieces of Lalique are worth more money!

Love that mermaid piece. I have a Worth bottle that he designed but was made sadly later - still pretty though.

R Lalique = pre-WWII. I've had dreams of finding his jewelry. No joy so far. A girl can dream though.
