The single most valuable thing you professional hikers can do is to share the difficulties one can have during a hike. That decreases the risk that we wannabehikers underestimate the challenges. Tnx a million!
Thank you for risking your life to bring this content and video to us! Be safe out there... As a creator myself, I know how hard it is to film these videos and be responsible for people you take on the trips, very, very hard work, Matti! Thank you again, great video!
A lot of people dont understand how hard it can be in the Swedish wilderness when the weather gets bad even for experienced people. Tack för att du delade med dig av detta äventyr, det är nyttigt för folk att få se att man ska vara väl förberedd och påläst innan man beger sig ut i vildmarken.
The life out there is like balancing on an edge. Normally it’s just a nice walk but suddenly you fall off and then it’s a fight for your life or a hard time to get dry or safe. It’s so small things that is the difference between easy going and tough shit… /Matti
@@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA It sure is. Luckely i didnt break anything but just got scratches and a sore foot but i remember that so many thought was running throu my mind when i fell but i was lucky that time. After that time (2 years ago) im buying a GPS device so that i can contact rescue service if something ever happened. Take care out there and keep up the good work with all the videos. Hello Matti! What a nice video. Thank you so much for creating a beautiful memory of this challenging trip. Next time I will choose the survival light trip 😂 Greetings from Bavaria Otto
This reminds me of a hike I did in jämtlandstriangeln a number of years back, the last weekend the stations were open. On our way out we met a band of people with running-shoes and black plastic bags over them (they were getting out, we were getting into the area). The temperature was just above freezing and it was raining horizontally because the wind blew so much. On our third day the weather was so bad and cold that my friend started going into hypothermia so we had to make sure he became warm. We were (are) both seasoned outdoor-people and both saw the indications of his condition fairly early. We warmed him up and had a nice evening in the tent and continued our walk the next day (and got a room in one of the cabins the final night to compensate for the previous night). The mountains are dangerous and it's obvious that you guys were prepared for situations like this, and know the signs of hypothermia and other situations that might arise. From my understanding there has been a big increase in people hiking in the mountains the last few years and I'm really glad that there are people like you guys that end up in situation like these and can spread awareness of how quickly things can turn to a situation way outside of your comfort zone. I keep watching everything you guys produce so keep up the great work Matti & Stina :)
Thanks! That’s really a game changer if you can reach a canine. One night in the cabin and you can dry out your equipment and then continue. Our problem in Sarek was that everything just continues to accumulate moisture. Jämtlandsfjällen is fare south but not easy mountains. It’s the area where I grow up and where I spend a lot of my free time. It’s very close to Norway and the ocean. The weather can change extremely fast there. People think it’s harder up here in the north but that’s not always the case. /Matti
No bugs. Good vid Matti. So is life in the Hilleberg Hilton. Elk rubs and scraps. We have big herds here. 7x7, 7x8, monsters. A good waxed cotton cloth a half meter square would be goos to keep the ass dry when putting shoes back on. A double watch od this vid. Very good. Yes winter is coming. From east Kentucky USA all good.
You're so lucky to have an optimistic fun group of hikers on this expedition. Otherwise everyone would have been so miserable. Very smart call to airlift everyone out. I'm glad no one got injured
I was in Sarek Park at the same time, during a snowstorm. Probably a few kilometers from your group, on the other side of Rapadallen, near Ijvarlahko. It was windy and I was happy to have the Hilleberg Soulo. Sarek is an amazing place and can surprise you.
Hey Matti and Stina, this is Anja from last years Sarek Expedition! Thank´s for that video, It looked like it was an adventure after all for everyone. I know the feeling, and I hope your group is proud of themself that they cooped with this kind of weather.
Hej Anja! Nice to hear from you here at RUclips. I still have to edit the video from our tour. I just got stuck with story and lack some material… but something will come from that trip also. :-) This year was very wet… Like we had the last day. Our trip wasn’t easy either… From 2024 we plan to make the trip almost one week earlier so we maybe can avoid the rough weather… ;-) …but the moose chances will sadly also be lower then… Difficult decision. /Matti

Congrat to everyone in the group for keeping a positive attitude ( please let us know what medications was necessary 😅) .
