    This is a homage of the iconic Seiko 6159-7000 Hi-Beat Dive Watch that came out in 1967 (That the Seiko SLA025 is a homage too also!)
    And on the 6159-7000 the lug is 19mm, the date background is white, and I think San Martin really have nailed it with this one. Although it sucks that there is a San Martin logo on the crown and that the lume is to yellow!
    But other than that, the dimensions are spot on and it is really a true homage to the OG Diver icon from Seiko!
    San Martin, please don’t listen to the people in this thread that don’t have a clue as to how brilliant this watch is and are complaining on the 19mm lug.
    But please change the lume to less yellow and the crown to a blank one with no logo on!

      I’m glad you like it generally but I like there to be little differences or it goes from being a ‘homage’ to a ‘copy’ or ‘fake’.

    Very nice looking watch. Normally I'd be wary of monoblock cases as it's very awkward for repairs but having watches with NH movements going for a decade or more with no issues, I'd be happy enough with it. All my NH movements areoperating at +4m3 to +8 spd except one at - 4 spd. Can't complain about that. I've only ever had to regulate one watch a long time ago as it was + 15 spd I like this one m. Excellent review.

    I love it. Don't care about bracelet size. I wish it was 20 but oh well. Has coffee lume, so it will never be bright but you should be able to see.
    I have a all black c3 san martin dragon turtle, blue and red. The worst colours for lume, if you charge with a uv light. It really works at 3, still see at 5.
    No glasses.
    But I always charge up the lume before bed 😊.
    Oh plus I got a 50 layer black c3 super lume. S style with food hands in a Willard.
    My Willard is good. The black san martin is very light and feels good. Two turtle differences.
    That monoblock is nice.

    I bought this watch to see how the quality of the product is. I'm a happy owner of a SEIKO 6215-7000 from 1967, and this watch has more or less the same size and shape for 200$ . I could say,is wearing very well for the size , not really like the original but closely and the finishing and functionality of all components are really good ,a bargain for the price tag...it's a copy but is quiet well done made ...! All the features are incredible for the price , hard to say that but is real.

    Tip top review Simon. Lovely watch. Monoblock is nice except if you need to fix something. A little tap on the regulator will bring that to near 0, but it's not easy to do with the case. But NH35 is extremely reliable and -8 isn't too bad. Nitpicking but wouldn't the SM logo engraved on the monoblock back be fantastic? You made me laugh at that pin and collar system. My Heimdallr Monster has it and size is pretty close to that. Only I never realized it was so when I was removing a link. I thought it was split pin and couldn't understand why it wouldn't stay in! I then realized I'd lost the collar and spent about an hour searching the carpet before I eventually found it. 😂😂 But yes, it's not too difficult to do, but I still prefer split pins or screws in general. 19mm is a bit of a bummer but I've noticed more straps becoming available and 20mm Natos are fine usually, you can't notice the difference so much. Better to leave the bracelet on anyways, it's very good looking. Speaking of the bracelet, on my 8.1" wrist, would that be a bit too small for me?

    • @WatchtheTime
      @WatchtheTime  Год назад +3

      Not a bad shout that Brian on the engraved caseback on the monobloc case, actually great shout. I think you’d be fine wearing it tbh and wouldn’t have to take any links out but probably just make it a tad smaller with the micro-adjustment. Thanks for watching my man 👍👍

    Looks like San Martin deliver their typical quality we all expect. But the case proportions are weird: There is absolutely no good reason to use skinny and odd 19 mm lugs on a fat chunk of metal like this. And there is no apparent benefit from the monobloc design either.

    Commenting as I watch….
    - I like the new packaging with zipper over the all plastic
    - Unique case! Never seen a monobloc before! If you have issue with the movement how do you access it?
    - pin and collar? Ick, but glad to hear it was easier. Collar def bigger than the Seiko bracelet I had, more than twice the length, but still I prefer screw pins!
    - bracelet….I can now attest that the San martin bracelets are equivalent to even better than my CW Sealander, a far more expensive watch, so San martin really does make fantastic bracelets one of their best features imo
    - gilty pleasure you glorious basterd! Nice one
    - lots of glitter on that bracelet
    - def lug width is pants, I did notice it looked too skinny for the watch head, maybe could have even got away with a 22 on this one but 21 if you are going odd go with 21 nor 19 too skinny
    I would add no access to movement as a pants as well monobloc ass is cool but what if you needed to regulate the movement for those that know how?

    • @WatchtheTime
      @WatchtheTime  Год назад +2

      I haven’t had the SN086 in for review Mateusz but from looking at it, it does look similar to the SN087 in many ways except for; it’s not monobloc, has a 20mm lug width and different clasp + finishing but… I’d say the finishing will be equally as good on both watches as that’s what San Martin are known for now. Thanks for the question and for watching mate 👍👍

  • @Shri_V
    @Shri_V Год назад +4

    I love my SN086G but this one...Monoblocs are more trouble than they are worth. I prefer the lesser thickness and easier serviceability of the traditional caseback system. Its just way more practical and lets face it, with a claimed 300m WR on the SN086G, it can reasonably be expected to do just as well in WR as this one.

    • @WatchtheTime
      @WatchtheTime  Год назад +1

      They definitely can be but I’ve got lucky with the timekeeping on mini as given the difficulty in adjusting the time, these definitely can be more hassle than they are worth.

      @christophneuscheler8694 Год назад +1

      Same here, prefer the SN086G, have a black and green…LX style, much more thin and easier on the wrist.
      I find the hand set with the lack of counterbalance a bit weird looking, the blank back? 19mm bracelet width, why not 20mm?
      Also the flat black dial could be seen as a bit uninspiring…
