I just received the Octopus Oct-10 in Titanium a couple days ago. You would think these are exact copies, but I was surprised to find my measurements were most all about 1mm smaller than what you measured the Seastern at.... Case = 37.8, Bezel = 38.8mm, Lug-to-lug = 45.6mm, height (including crystal = 11.5mm (probably due to the fact it has a PT5000). There is also another interesting difference; the links appear to be both 'fatter' than normal (3.4mm) as well as shorter (it came with a total of 14 full links not including the ones attached to the clasp). That 1mm difference overall makes for a fantastically wearing watch. Fir/finish is great, I LOVE the lighter weight (with all links = 102 grams). Also, even though the clasps appear exactly the same, there is no 'gap' issue, however, there are only 3 micro-adjust holes, and they're very close together, so it is almost impossible for me to get a snug fit... if I add one link back in, it's too loose, take it back out, it's too tight; so not a 'goldilocks' watch. Octopus and Seastern need to either add a half-link, and-or add another couple holes in the clasp (which is too short to do), or better yet, copy San Martin's EXCELLENT new on-the-fly adjustable clasp (at the same time I also bought San Martin's new SN021.... a fantastic watch). It's a shame that most all watch manufacturers don't offer that feature for those of us that don't like our watches sliding all over our wrist. Apart from that issue, I absolutely love the Octopus... that 1mm difference in every measurement makes for the perfect fit, only being ruined by the cheap, small clasp. Hey, thanks for the review, my friend!
Wow! Nice written review of the Octopus from you my friend. I think you should start a RUclips channel as well. The merrier the better 😅. Thanks for the support as usual bro 😎
Also worth noting the bracelet of the Octopus Kraken version has fully articulating links, whereas the Seestern does not. This makes the octopus kraken more comfortable as well.
@@NotoriousK_I_T You're absolutely correct! This is the first watch I've owned with fully articulating links. It does indeed seem to help with the fit. If only they'd do something about that clasp!
Very nice review. I received my watch last week and quickly noticed that huge gap in the clasp. At first I thought it was because of the way I removed links to size the bracelet. After moving links around I realized it had nothing to do with that. I see that the Octopus version of this watch does not have this problem. I bought the Seestern because I liked the dial better. Maybe that was a mistake. Seestern definitely needs to fix this problem! They need to redesign the clasp and send one to all of us for free that bought the watch.
Nice review bro! I bought the same watch in blue during a visit to inlaws in china. The lume and grey titanium is great.. no regrets with this brand so far.. i have a few seesterns...
Yup. I think they shouldn't have put the description "with coating" in their website. And at the same time, there's no such description on AliExpress. It might be misleading for some. Anyways, thanks for the support bro 😎
Great review mate! They had some issues with the bracelet production. I’m guessing they switched suppliers halfway, hence the slight different colour between the case and bracelet. Hope they address most of the issues you highlighted in the v2.
Well, hopefully bro. I've always had issues with Seestern before. So this is 3rd time bad luck for me, or it's just that they couldn't make things right the first time. How are things going for you in Portugal bro?
Thanks for the review NM. I had high hopes for this watch but that clasp, the inconsistent colour of the titanium and no proper coating are a no for me. There is a San Martin version of this homage, perhaps a review of that one at some point for comparison? Really good unboxing video though
The more i see this watch, the san martin and octo krack the more i want to go ahead and get the pelagos 39. Havent yet because the wife made me promis to fund any more watches over 1k by selling what i have to fund it. Not a bad way to fund new toys but im not done playing with the ones i have yet.
Well, after using this for a while, I still think the Pelagos 39 should have 20mm lug width instead of 21mm. It just didn't make sense to me. Anyways, thanks for watching 😎
I would save up for the pelagos 39 but then I would be too worried to damage it so in my case a Chinese homage with most of the features at a fraction of the cost is perfect
I know that you can't say it due to the prevailing insanity but I'm not sure what it is. A Tudor perhaps? Anyway, it looks like a nice watch. Thanks for the review.
LOL. Watching a bit more and answering my own question, yeah, thanks. Will be interested to see what you think about it after wearing for a couple of weeks. It's a nice size I reckon, not too big.
Seestern is German for starfish (literally "seastar"). It's pronounced seh-schtern and it's not a homophone to cistern. The "s" in See is pronounced as a voiced s similar to z in English because the s is followed by a vowel. 🤪
These makes are no longer fantastic value. They are good value and as such the quality has to exceed other established makes like Seiko etc. I have a "62 mas" one by them and like it. I'm wearing a Seiko samurai and would like to see a copy of that so I can compare...
As it is right now with all its flaws, including the lack of coating this is a no buy for me. I wonder if the Octopus is better but not willing to take the gamble haha

Yup. Totally agreed. I've contacted them about the clasp, but no reply just yet. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for watching 😎
@NMwatch I contacted them and they told me they would send me a new clasp when they received it from the factory. We'll see if they keep their word.
Nice review bro! I bought the same watch in blue during a visit to inlaws in china. The lume and grey titanium is great.. no regrets with this brand so far.. i have a few seesterns...
Good for you brother. Thanks for watching 😎
Informative as always bro. Great looking watch. But the easy scratches and clasp gap did make me think twice.
Yup. I think they shouldn't have put the description "with coating" in their website. And at the same time, there's no such description on AliExpress. It might be misleading for some. Anyways, thanks for the support bro 😎
I ordered one and it was a nice surprise. The one that arrived had a great band.
Well, good for you then. Thanks for watching 😎

San Martin now has titanium model of Polagos homage for less than this brand and honestly I like SM better overall.
Yup. I'll see if I can get one for review. Thanks for watching 😎
Thats true, SM 39 mm Titan has the better Clasp, better more Details at the Dial, and you get it in Blue. The Quality is super for less then 300 Euro
Gorgeous watch, I have heard that the bezel isn't the best however.
Hello there Jason! Mine is OK, nothing new for a titanium bezel but not the worst. Anyways, thanks for watching 😎

Hello there. I'll try to get the SN0111T when they release it with the Tudor dial and hands. Anyways, thanks for the support as usual!

Yup. Just nice size. But the clasp has to go. I just couldn't find anything to replace it with yet. Anyways, thanks for watching 😎
great review, now lets wait for SM titaniium version !
i prefer the looks on sm 39mm p'lagos because they downsized the 42mm pelagos looks to 39mm.
Yup. Me too. But this Seestern is just not the perfect one. Maybe the V2 or V3. Anyways, thanks for watching😎

Nice to know that. Will search online on how to pronounce the word during the full review. Thanks for watching 😎
@@NMwatch I didn't mean to be a smartass, by the way.
@@chronocommander007 hey man. It’s okay. I’m always into new languages btw. No harm done.😎

I wish they name all their watches Seestern instead of Sugess
Yup. Something is off with the Sugess brand name, for me at least. Anyways, thanks for watching 😎
@@NMwatch thank you for the great reviews. Kipidap bro.
I wish they make sugess variant with some different dial options not exact clone but homage
I think that will be coming sooner or later. Thanks for watching 😎
CHYNA!
😂
Trump 2024❤
i'd buy it if there was the aluminium bezel. that would be great
Well, that might be cool. But for me, the brushed titanium is just fine. Anyways, thanks for watching 😎

Well, I'm not really a fan of the Samurai. But it would be fun to look for it's alternative. Anyways, thanks for watching 😎
As it is right now with all its flaws, including the lack of coating this is a no buy for me. I wonder if the Octopus is better but not willing to take the gamble haha
Well, the Octopus might be a bit cheaper during the upcoming sales. But I'm not going to get one anytime soon. Anyways, thanks for watching 😎
The Octopus Kraken version is very good, has a better movement, bracelet and clasp and is about the same price.
Why does it look so much like the Tudor Pelagos ??
Well, it is Pelagos 39 homage 😅. Thanks for watching 😎
