Archoil makes a great product. Watch the RUclips video when Jay Leno introduced it 10 years ago on his show. It was developed by Bell labs decades ago to solve the diesel fuel storage issue for the federal governments generators. I have been buying it for farmer and contractor friends of mine for Christmas presents for years and every single one loves it. Solves a lot of stiction and emissions related issues for folks. A good farmer friend of mine has a high dollar John Deere combine, kept throwing emissions codes, had to call John Deere to come out and every time it cost him some big money. He started using Archoil, no more issues, and it’s been 6-7 years.
I run Schaeffer oil and I run turbomaxx additive! You need to check out turbomaxx products are great and keeps everything lubricant and clean. 14 ford f250 6.7 running oil and fuel additives. Watch some of his videos I would love to hear your opinion on it . Keep the videos coming
I have a ‘16 Cummins I purchased new…it’s not my daily so only has 84k miles…I have never once ran an additive mainly because I just wasn’t really aware of them other than anti gel since I’m in Minnesota. I just ran the Archoil concentrated cleaner through and wow I noticed an immediate improvement…I’m going to now run the Archoil fuel additive regularly and do the cleaner every 5k.
Been running Archoil since 2017 and have been extremely happy with it I use the AR6500 during the summer, AR6300 that includes gel treatment during the winter, and 6400D fuel treatment every 5,000 miles.
100% on the Archoil in the Power Stroke… I ran about 3000 miles, 1500 with the Archoil and the truck did great mileage wise I was in the mid 20’s easily… The Hot Shot Secret doesn’t seem to do anything in the Power Stroke… I’m gonna stick with the Archoil… Solid evaluation on the products💪💪💪
I have used Schaeffer’s for the past 4 years and 110,000 miles on my 19 Cummins 6.7. I spilled a small amount at the gas station on some diesel on the ground and it is slicker than ice. It made me feel better that my high pressure pump is being lubricated and my carbon output is being reduced.
Stanadyne is by far the best diesel fuel treatment I have used. The lubricity formula in the purple bottle is great for summer use or for lubing the entire fuel system. The blue bottle is an all round cleaner + lube+ antigel. It tested great on Project Farm youtube channel. I use it in my Cummins and can hear and feel a difference. Also better fuel economy and no fuel gelling in subzero temperatures in Montana. I think they all add some benefit to the crappy ULSD.
I've been using EDT in my 2021 cummins since the 2nd tank of fuel, and I watch the truck very, very close. I've not had one light emission related or anything in 40k miles. I always worry that the truck is not going thru a regen enough because it happens so infrequently. I'll stick with the EDT for me. With that being said, I hear that Archoil is great stuff, especially in the PowerStroke.
I too have been running hotshot EDT on both my 60k mile 6.0 powerstroke and on my 3.0 duramax suburban and noticed nothing as far as smoothness or mpg. I did the archoil diesel fuel system cleaner and immediately noticed a difference. My regens on the 3.0 have drastically improved. I guess I will stop buying edt and swap to 6500. Thx for the vid 👌
I do a lot of stuff like Paul does but I don't have 6.7s. You're not gonna notice mutch as people think with the 6.7 ford's on the newer ones. I run 7.3s 6.0s 6.4s the EDT does lot more than you realize. Had 2 6.4s with bad injectors ran EDT and and 150 miles later it was back to normal. The EDT does more than a guy notices and I run CAT engines in my big trucks and it does A LOT for them. hotshots and sheaffers both do amazing. The hotshots oil does same as archoil I have oil samples with proof And old engines and big cat engine they both run high hp and the ARCHOIL and hotshots do the same so it's not a complete waste of money.
24 HO Cummins been using Power Service since my 1st fill up bc Cummins endorsed & I can buy it locally @ multiple places, going to try Archoil when I run out. Some of the 5th gen Cummins guys said Archoil has helped reduce frequent regens.
I’ve tried everything but shafers and the archoil is my go to. I’m trying Amsoil currently and I feel the difference but archoil has my vote currently.
Archoil does have the same additive with anti gel in it, I am planning on running that this winter and currently running the archoil in my power stroke 6.7 high output.
Ran hotshots in my 4th gen for months. Couldn't tell a difference. I stopped using them all together after Lake Speed Jr. Tested their friction reducer. Didnt notice a difference with archoil either. Im trying FPPF total power. Noticed increased power and mileage in first gens so hopefully thats the case for my 4th.
The real deal in the world of diesel fuel additives is Better Diesel FBC (fuel-born catalyst). Another rebranded version is Pittsburgh Power Max Mileage. It breaks up the clumping of the fuel molecules, which improves performance. It also lowers the temperature for regen, so the after-treatment system runs cleaner, especially the EGR valve.
I've run a ton of EDT and I honestly can't tell if it does anything in my Cummins. Suppose it makes me feel better to run something. I have run their winter additive in brutal cold and never gelled up once.
You might want to try Schaeffer's CarbonTreat. It's Schaeffer's top of the line, particularly suited for 2010 and newer engines with very high injector PSI.
I feel the same way in my 18 6.7 HO/Aisin. I have ran the EDT and thought it was best thing, I live in Ohio and Hotshots is local to Ohio, I decided to to try the 5w40 in my truck instead of the T6 15w40 that I have been running for 75k miles and let me tell you the the 5w40 made it sound terrible. I gave it 50 miles and it sounded like crap. Switched back to T6 15w40 and it’s been great. I’m going to ditch the Hotshots EDT and try Archoil
I saw noticeable improvement with Hot Shots EDT, but their Diesel Extreme was unreal, fuel mileage jumped 4 to 6 points along with switching to 5/40 shell -T6 from 15/40 .[ Ford 2012 F350 94 k ] very few re-gens. Typical mileage 16 to 22 [ 8 oz per fill up ] Prior to the 5/40, mileage was 12 to 15 I used Schaffers twice and only to Shell because of hugh price difference.
You prefer schaffers 5-40 oil over rotella t6? And what mileage intervals are you running? Sorry not related to this video but been following you for a while and love the reviews. Bought a 22 power stroke new and been running schaffers 5-40 since the first oil change and I’m happy with it but it comes with a hearty price Vs rotella t6/t4 which I ran in all my previous 13 Ram diesels I’ve owned from 94-2013
I’ve ran edt for 100k in my 2020 psd. Your dead wrong. It does work. Does it work as good as other? That’s debatable for sure. I don’t think so many people would use it if it did nothing. I can definitely tell You I get 1-2 mpg better. I go 7500 miles on a tank of def. No pulling. That’s seems pretty damn good to me and I can’t imagine that edt isn’t helping cut down those regens.
My understanding is that Archoil allows the diesel to be completely burned more efficiently and cleaner….your Regens are cut in half and and the soot in your emissions system up is cut by even more
I run it as well but after hearing this I want to give Archoil a shot, just ordered the 6500 and 6400-D. Let's see what happens once I start my oil analysis I will definitely be testing the results of both and see what Lake Speed says.
not exactly on topic... but have a 2017 colorado with the 2.8 duramax, usual DPF regen is around 300 miles, mostly on highway. Every once in a while I will get close to 400 miles, and i think its got something to do with that bio diesel fuel, I know its not the best to use but this last trip its all i could find there in the area i was in CA. Any thoughts? could it actually be helping with cleaner DPF
archoil stops the low rpm pinging and i use very little def, maybe 5 gallons for my 6000 mile oil changes, unless im pulling something and at that im running about 500-800 miles for 2.5 gallons which is the reason for the improved overall mileage. i never had a problem with my fuel pump but i did put a dcr in it anyway so i dont have to worry.

I always trusted Bill Hewitt on the Archoil. The stuff really works well. There complete fuel system cleaner works good too

I also never had luck with hot shots but I do really like the amsoil stuff
What do you mean? Your engine behaves differently with amsoil additive but not the edt?
@aaron___6014 get 2mpg better mileage and less Regensburg on the amsoil

Bill Hewitt doing back flips in heaven
I trust Paul ! I'm done buying EDT as well as their engine oils !!!

I run hot shot g56 transmission oil works awesome. Never tried the fuel additive
it doesn't matter what you run... just run some additive in your fuel.... cause diesel at the pump is crap......
24 HO Cummins been using Power Service since my 1st fill up bc Cummins endorsed & I can buy it locally @ multiple places, going to try Archoil when I run out. Some of the 5th gen Cummins guys said Archoil has helped reduce frequent regens.

I have run hotshots and dieselkleen and I never notice a difference in anything but at least trying to improve lubricity

Would you prefer Schaefer or arch oil in the Cummins 6.7?
Thanks Paul!!!!!!’
Paul thanks for the video! Side bar question, have you tried Optilube?

Blue standyne is a great fuel additive

Archoil is a different ballgame. It was developed years ago for the federal government to solve their issues of long term diesel storage by Bell Labs.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on the prolube product
I know exactly what to do when truck goes into limp mode due emission lol
not exactly on topic... but have a 2017 colorado with the 2.8 duramax, usual DPF regen is around 300 miles, mostly on highway. Stanadyne….With lubricity ..Their performance formula is less expensive than Archoil. Schaffers is great for commercial class 8 engines.
I was thinking about buying a 2020 ram limited 3500. Should I buy or walk away only 20K miles on it?
Do u try the Amsoil?
i'd love to hear your opinion on optilube xpd
What about Cummins?
My deleted 2020 runs noticeably quieter and gained 1 mpg on average with hotshot over 10k miles
Cenpeco “diesel MAX”
Do you think archoil is the best choice for 5.9 Cummins??
I haven’t tested it on the 5.9 Cummins.
@ I guess I’ll test them.. I’ve used hotshots edt and haven’t noticed anything..
Ok dude. Can you just stay on point. This could be a 1 min. Video. 😂
