@@Fake_Jesus Dongles are definitely around, but for a router, makes no sense. Should have atleast one ethernet port, then you can add a switch or hub if you needed more. For laptops the dongles makes more sense.

One year ago was a long time ago in the galaxy far far away please update your video. Thank you. Your network is very clean new messy wires you did a good job. I will subscribe once I see an updated video that's more current. Can you upgrade the first generation Starlink router to the third generation also set up configuration for using the euro routers they're the easiest to set up for most people.
What's the average ms latency after obtaining the Ethernet adapter for Gen 2? Need stable and reliable video connection for Zoom meetings/webinars, video chat, etc.
yes bruh. I dit it because for some reasons I noticed that when starlink router is on bypass mode it kinda freeze at times so I have to reset it a couple of times.
Good information on ethernet adapter. I want to do this and add a wifi router and bridge connection , can you recommend a good router for this application ?
Bypass or not I get very slow connection thru the adapter. I tried both a gigabit multi WAN TP-Link ER605 and Linksys 1900AC . No matter what it is slow. I did not bypass the Starlink router but us the RJ45 connected to the duel WAN TP-Link ER605 as a backup WAN. That way I still have the fast Starlink Wifi.
I really need to control a bunch of ports for personal projects requiring network access....I am hoping if I use this and my own router I can still do this... Pending :)
possible, yes. But not advised. What you want is 1 Central Router that connects to the Starlink router, and then Accespoints in the Offices that connect to the central router.
Hello, I am looking for a solution for a web server, which requires opening ports to achieve correct operation. The question is if with this configuration Starlink allows the opening of ports? (TCP and UDP) I would appreciate your comments.
I believe yes with Bypass mode you might be able to port forward and open new ports, I have yet to test it but have been doing a load of research trying to figure it out,
That's strange because I feel like it's my dish that's disconnecting. You can do an advanced speed test, and it showed me that my dish. At the time, I was only getting about 5 mbps, but my mesh router was getting 250 mbps. I was getting great series most of the time, usually averaging about 50 to 125 mbps
The router is mediocre. The signal is weak and doesn't deal with any interference very well. I was extremely happy with 150€ router upgrade attached with the adaptor. Depending on my location I have time-frames where signal can be poor, possibly moving between satellites. The fewer obstructions the better. Mine says it's in a good location currently but it could be much better imo.
Deliberately hobbling their device and requiring an absurdly expensive peripheral to add basic functionality is just plain greed and stupidity from Starlink. They knew what they were doing and should be shamed for it.
I am surprised Elon did not have one ethernet port on that router. Seems very strange to me.
Not really. Tim Cook of MS started that. Dongles. Everything has a different dongle. More profit.

Hi sir. How was the connection when using a third party wifi router?
Looks like my first step. I need Starlink in two houses.
Can you use the ethernet connection with a simple lan gigabit switch? I want to disable wifi and just have lan only network
i think the starlink app actually has a bypass mode so it only routes the internet through that ethernet
what netgear router you are using?
