Went and played one of these today. I tried this, the Maritime and the Cedar Artist Mosaic. Once I picked this up though, I couldn't put it down. I sat in the guitar store and played for nearly three hours straight. I'm picking one up Friday. Can't wait.

I agree with you! I played this guitar in a shop recently and it is a great sounding and playing guitar!

I really appreciate posting this video. Great quality demo along with comparison on the anthem pickup slider. I also loved hearing the strumming sound demoed as so many times we just hear finger style demos.
This guitar is climbing to the top of my list now and will have to play it at my local guitar store. Thanks again.

I ended up getting one and love it so far. Contrasts my 214ce rosewood, giving a different sweet mahogany tone but no sacrifice to sustain or playability. Just a beautiful guitar that looks and plays above its price point. I don't understand how these get overlooked by so many people but I'm so glad I found it. Also love that it's made in North America and with such quality. Thanks Seagull!

Hi. Do you know whether or not Peppino signature model has a unique bracing pattern? How is its bracing different to that of Mosaic? I know Peppino model has a wider nut width. Could you compare the tones of the two models?

Hi There. Is Artist Mosaic's tone similar to that of Peppino signature model?

Great acoustic pickup I recommend it. I also love the one sold by Journey guitars for only $50. I just installed one in my Takamine and it sounds great.

Why does this sound so tinny? I've heard many of these played, and normally they are way more rich and full bodied. This sounds like the Guitar is made or nickels 😂

Not even a fingerstyle arpeggio or a finger tune with an acoustic guitar?

    • @jed1166
      @jed1166 3 года назад +1

It’s a dreadnought, not a parlor guitar... if you want to finger pick, buy a concert or parlor sized guitar...dreadnoughts are built to be strummed and flat picked... think you are watching the wrong demo.

    • @tasinbaneir4231

@@jed1166 that's absolutely ridiculous. I and many of my studio session/guitar friends primarily use these kinds of guitars for finger style and the results are absolutely stellar. This guitar was featured in a Brickhouse guitar finger style demo .. listen to that and tell me that wasn't just beautiful. Fabrizio is 100% right to inquire about fingerpicking.

@@tasinbaneir4231 #1. Obviously a very versatile guitar. #2. I HAVE listened to the Brickhouse finger style video, and it WAS beautiful. However, I asked them, via email to strum and flat pick in future videos of dreadnoughts, because that is how they are primarily used, and how I use my dreadnoughts,(remember, they were built for bluegrass / acoustic blues). #3. A parlor / concert guitar is a one trick pony...cannot be strummed aggressively, so it IS a fingerpicking instrument. #4. The slope shouldered dreadnought is a jack of all trades with compromise, it can be strummed, but not a forcefully as a square shoulder dreadnought. And, it can be finger picked, but not with the volume of a concert body... I see your point.
My current go to is a Takamine P4DC CoolTube... the only dreadnought I would replace it with is the Artist Mosaic, because 10% of the songs on my set list are finger picked, I love the Anthem, and I hate the look of cutaways, (even my own Takamine, LOL).
Viva le difference! Keep pickin and grinning!

@@jed1166 Hello, I appreciate your purist talk .. but I have some issues ...
      1) You asked for strumming and flat picking because that's how dreadnoughts are primarily used: Not necessarily, especially with the higher end guitars. Such serious musicians usually are versatile with them. As well, in the video, Roger's medley included strumming and flat picking (with the thumbtack) all within a finger style.
      2) It doesn't necessarily matter why a guitar (in this case .. a dreadnought) was made .. what matters is what the musician can do with it. It is precisely more ... special .. when a musician takes an instrument made for such purposes .. and does their own thing with it .. that's when they truly .. own it.
      3) It doesn't necessarily matter if a parlor/concert guitar is a one trick pony and primarily (if not only) meant for finger style, if an acoustic - not primarily meant for finger-style just sounds and feels better (as many do than dedicated finger style concert guitars) ... then that guitar should be used for finger style over the dedicated concert guitar.
      4) It doesn't necessarily matter what ANY guitar's purpose of make is, if you can .. at the end of the day .. make it your own.
That said, I do understand why you'd mention this .. you're going by the book for what you feel is the best benefit given musical application and guitar. But that is precisely what you shouldn't ... necessarily always be doing. I find purists mindset is sometimes impure .. but I can absolutely appreciate such folks as yourself who understand guitars.
I checked out the Tak P4DC.. it's a beauty .. as are most all well made acoustics.. but .. it still didn't hold a candle to that sparkly, shimmery, golden tone out of the seagull AM on the Brickhouse demo .. not to be confused with the horrible demo on this video.
      Cheers.

@@tasinbaneir4231 last one! We sure agree on some things: 1. that was a horrible demo! He took a great guitar and managed to make it sound completely boring....amazing! 2. Roger’s playing is always very nice, and the guitar sounds great! 3. We love guitars!
I truly appreciate your thoughtful comments, as I have been playing for 55 years, and am very set in my ways,(old dog, etc.). I have always played big guitars, tuned down a full step, with heavy 59-14 strings, and bang the crap out of ‘em,(really a one trick pony LOL). Thanks for your perspective. Maybe I will buy a concert size, and learn to tame my attack. Lastly, to prove that you are correct, Kenny Chesney plays huge arena shows on a CEDAR topped Takamine OM that is only 14.5” at the lower bout, compared to my P4DC at nearly 16”, and Guild F40 Jumbo at 17.5”.... Keep the music going!
