I bought this guitar 9 years ago and have no regrets. The pickup system works fine and once, I crank bass too much and both mixer guy and bass guy told me to take it down if I wanted give the bass player a reason to be... BUT, when I play an other guitars with a standard body, unpluged, I just feel like those low note are missing on my Seagull. SO at 4:40, that youtuber made it clear to me he's a salesman when he said "lots of bass". It's like asking bookshelves speaker do to a woofer job. There's always a compromise and in this case you trade bass for comfort. I'm fine with this.
Just a note. Seagull is NOT Godin's affordable range. Seagull (and Norman, A&L, S&P) is Godin's acoustic lines, La Patrie is the nylon string / classical line, while the Godin name gets branded on the electrics. The S6 orig (and slim) is in the "affordable" range; the Artist series is their premier range.
Great review...I own a Seagull flame maple mini jumbo cut away, beautiful guitar and a great bang for the dollar. I have a Taylor, Gibson and a Yamaha L-series transacoustic guitar and you certainly won't be disappointed in any of the guitars in the seagull line.
I'd have to agree. All piezo pickups are buzzy. It's good for the review to demo the plugged-in sound, but they most importantly need to unplug and mic the guitar. (Only; the 50-50 blends are a nice extra touch, but the pickup-only and acoustic-only sounds are the most important.)
This is a $1200 dollar guitar, why is this reviewer feeling around for rough edges? I've never felt a rough edge on a Seagull S6. Anyway, nice sounding guitar.
I have this same model except mine came with a Godin Quantum 2 pickup. Sounds much better. Not sure if that's an option anymore . Can't believe I got it for 900 Cad brand new
you did a great job at reciting the spec sheet and a terrible job at demoing the guitar. I don't need you to tell me what the guitar is made of. I read it on the website and came here to hear how it sounds. I don't need you to count the frets lmfao I mean holy cow... Just play the damn thing and play a variety of music both dry-mic'd and plugged in. Finger pick standard tuning dry/electric Finger pick DADGAD (or at least Drop-D) dry/electric Light strum standard tuning dry/electric\ Heavy strum standard tuning dry/electric This way people who don't have a dealer nearby can get a rounded view of what the guitar's potential is. The success and proliferation of this guitar review script you and dozens of others have presented shows that people really have no fucking idea what they want.
So sad, that seagull builts in L.R. Elements pickups in their artist folk cw. In a guitar like this you would expect a dual input pickup with everything you can think of...
Why? I'm not questioning your judgement -- but I've been thinking about getting this guitar so I'd like to know whats wrong with those specific pick-ups (I am pretty uneducated on acoustic pick-ups).
@@dakotabramer206 it's not a bad pickup, but considering the construction (all solid and intended for stage) there could be better options. If an L.R., then they should go for the anthem and not the element... you can search for both here on youtube, probably you will see my point.
Thanks for a very nice review.
It's worth mention that this model also has that wider, 1.8" nut width.

+Jordan Lukin the artist series also has ebony finger board and bridge. not rosewood.
Nope they sell Godin acoustic guitars. Like the Godin Metropolis.

i realize I am kinda randomly asking but do anyone know a good site to stream new movies online?
@Crosby Malcolm meh I would suggest Flixportal. You can find it on google :D -ramon
@Ramon Jaxson thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I really appreciate it !!
@Crosby Malcolm glad I could help =)
You should be using a microphone to demo this as well. Piezo pickups do not accurately represent how the guitar sounds acoustically.
I have this guitar and acoustically it sounds fantastic but the pickups are just cringe-worthy
shutup dooshe bag.
Eric Donner Are you going to swap the pickups?

Godin's top-shelf is the Godin Metropolis LTD and it is an absolute gem.

Perfectly engineered fingerstyle guitar! Unbelievable that Godin discontinued this amazing guitar.
Great playing Tom. Just great.
Even i would like a acoustic review of this guitar. As piezo pickup review doesn’t let us know the full potential of the guitar. Thank you

Shame about the pickup, years ago seagulls came with the Baggs Duet 2 ( I beam and a mic ). You could blend the 2, spectacular sound.
Can anyone tell me what tuning he is using?
Nicely done!
Anyone know what scale hes using in the beginning?
Thanks..very well done.
just bought a deluxe model...love it!
Sounds very nice.
they all seem to have a little of that gypsy jazz sound
great plating again
this guitar deserves a better pickup, not piezzo but something like KK trinity or Baggs Anthem..... Piezzo just makes it sound quacky and thin. IMO

I HATE when guitar reviews don't mention the nut width! As well, when the demo is done with the electronics. My god when will reviewers ever learn.
