Jelly Boy the numbers are a reference to your number pad (direction) so 4 would be left. 6 would be forward. 8 would be jump. 2 would be down and 5 would be neutral. Just a basic coverage over it. So 6m would stand for forward medium
The sound effects between light, medium and heavy with the jump cancel is super effective to the mind. You are a great creator of content and just earned a new sub 🤗
As soon as u hit ground after fanish hit just dash and do a down mid or normal mid into jump cancel, but if you want to extend that more u are gonna have to use assists or some other crazy shit
Depends on your positioning, that’s something that will take some time in practice mode if you want to master it. For the most part, if you’re close to the ground you can catch your opponent just before they hit the ground with a D.medium, but if they’re further up in the air you will probably have to jump into a standard aerial combo, and high up in the air, like if you vanished after a D.heavy, well, that depends on what character you’re using.
Maybe talk about general Neutral play. Talking about how to do effective Block strings and Frame Trapping the opponent in order to mix them up. Using the vanish attack effectively to trap the opponent and such is also a good mention. Also, making good use of movement is essential and blocking and Z reflecting for optimal defense. Neutral play could be a video in itself.
This helped because I've watched a lot of videos, but didn't know how to start some combos without the low medium. Now I see you have to open them up first with any attack (although overheads from the ground are character specific I hear), and then launch them. Spent too much time always trying for the low medium. Thanks for this video tying the knot for me.
I feel there are many buttons and skills that are safe to do and not get punish, i'd like a video about how to stop being pressured and how to act against 50/50's. Didn't know the down heavy made u invincible against aerial attacks, helps me a lot!
Top 10 Krillin Skins I'd like to see in FighterZ 1. Police Man 2. Baby 3. Namek 4. Long Hair Buu Arc 5. Dragon Ball Super Short Hair 6. Swimsuit Krillin 7. Krillin's Ashes from Namek 8. Krillin in Piccolo's Clothes (Broly's Second Coming) 9. Krillin (But all of his attacks involve throwing rocks) 10. Krillin (But Maron comes out for a 7 ki super and out-cutes the opponent into just quitting).
Fun fact: DBS Broly is fantastic for tag out combos with his light autocombo. Even with no meter, tagging into another fighter will net you a full bar of meter.
That part with the sound effects in the combos is game changing, your right more fighting games should do that, but I think your the first youtuber I've seen do it and it makes the explanation 1000x better, I really appreciate it!
Man, I’ve been looking how to do this cancel in the air for a while now and some other folks that made videos replied like I was crazy for not knowing. Thank you for showing this.
Not just blocking, but I'd also love to see a video on overall defense, when to deflect, when to guard-cancel change or whatever it was called (because as I've experienced and have heard confirmed from Maximillian Dood, the other character coming in can get beaten out by something as weak as a jab, so that feels like a waste of bar to me). Also I'd like to see a proper way to stagger normal moves to keep the enemy in blockstun and keep them from mashing the button to get a free combo.
You are the best man, I love this game but the combo system is kinda hard. You really break things for me to finally understand it. Thank you and keep up the good work !
Thanks for the content. I consider myself a pretty decent gamer, however, my 5 year old is an absolute beast in this game. With your tips I will make him weep child tears, thanks for this!
Thanks for this. I’m back to playing console games again for the first time in 7 years because of this game. I’m not sure a lot of times how to start combos. Guides assume you been playing games for awhile. I get loss very quickly this helps a lot as to show what things like jump cancel means. Keep stuff like this up please
Holy sh#t this was soooo helpful!!! I had been noticing that some combos could oddly enough be extended longer, but i just chalked it up to a glich that was done with certain characters. I will definitly watch this several times!!
Got into this game during the quarentine! Man Great video!! Learned a lot. It would also be of great help if you could list the moves. For example, what moves or you doing after the first cancel jump? Is confusing knowing the moves after the first jump cancel. Either way, New Fan here 💪🏾
Best controllers to use, tips with the half circle turns. Only been playing 4 days and the quarter circles are not consistent. Blocking tips, how to get better. Animations and sounds that happen before certain supers/mechanics. Also popular combos with every charecter.
yo I wanna thank you for teachin me how to really build combos THOUGHT I was all good but online kept seeing it happen to me I been practicing all morning 😂😂😂 appreciate this fr.!
2:17 there you have it folks if you didn’t hear it the first time pls rewind, stop MASHING!!! Thank you Globku for saying this bc between the online netcode fluctuations and these X mashers like this is ninja storm I jus can’t I would be a God of Destruction already or higher...unfortunately I’m only on Xbox right now my name is IAM8669 I take all challengers and I promise you you won’t beat me without mashing!! Anyways thank you again Globku for this video I hope a lot of ppl in the community see this and learn a new perspective on how to properly play a fighting game!
You should do a video on unique techs. Like friezas down down R2 /RT teleports him forward and shoots a blast. 18 gets a sheild. Tons of characters have unique moves. I feel alot of new players think every character plays roughly the same
Loved the video and series idea, you are awesome! Guys like you within the games I'm playing (also watch Dood xD) are a divine grace to the community (for the lack of a better compliment) Once again, nice video
YAASS! Personally I would like for a video about vanish+wall bounce combo extension. Idk but for me is so damn hard to do it, too late and your low medium hits nothing because the enemy is recovering from the ground, too soon and it hits the air.
I would love to know how some people can come up with some crazy combos. Like, how to even understand the game enough to know when to shoot a ki blast in some situations for extensions or any other moves that aren't conventional moves to combo with. Pretty much, how to create combos instead of copying x).
I liked the video great information but can you make a short video on how to bring in another character to do their super after you knock them down with the character you initially had in during the combo. I would be much appreciative if so bro.
Hey TGN Dunno if you already spoke on this but I am a pretty decent player on Steam and I wanted you to talk about the importance of reflect. There are so many times where I have someone in the corner and they can escape the pressure via reflect but they will choke and just wait til I mess up which isn't the way to go. Also the importance of 5H, after a reflect, a pretty sizeable chunk of the roster can punish button mashers after a reflect with 5H if they don't have a stubby 5H, that is.
Hey Globku 😬 just a recent subscriber but loving the content and the effort of growing the communities skill in Fighterz ☺️ I would love to learn more about neutral as I'm new to fighting games. I understand that neutral play is hard to grasp because it is different in many circumstances with (connection and different play styles/ characters) but I'm looking forward to your coverage on it :) if you do ❤️ cheers for amazing content :) :)
Just some tips that apply to every fighting game that might help!: Neutral as you may know is when both characters have no inputs on the screen and they are both on the ground, so its the old west standoff cliche! -When in neutral the first goal is #1. move into attacking range, obviously you cant do anything unless you are in range to use your attacks, in games like super smash bros you can imagine bubbles around your character of their attack distance at anytime, in 2d fighters like this its more move specific ranges (like kid buus medium vs his down heavy), so neutral becomes a game of reading what your opponent will do while moving into range to do your moves. -So what should I do? (firstoff) DONT HOMING DASH, I know its tempting, I know it works occasionally, but unless you are A very close, or B mixing up what side you are on, it can be punished very easily, and because of that should be used as a mix up option, not a way to get out of neutral -move in cautiously, use double forward (or forward plus homing dash) to do that air dash forward to quickly close distance (or bait them in by dashing backwards for a punish when they throw out an attack) -Now that you are in attacking range or attempting to punish whats important is knowing your characters moves, and using assists to cover up weak spots. This is known as pressuring, its when you force your opponent to guard your attacks, putting him in 'block/shield stun' meaning he is unable to use a move against you, and you try to open up his guard doing lows and overheads, or by using a dragon rush or command grab (some characters can mix up what side they are on and that gives even more options) -It's at this point you go down the frame data rabbit hole where every move has a set amount of activation time, active hit box time, and time before they can perform another move Ranting cause Im bored, but hope it helps
I do have a question (kinda newbie here) If you break neutral with anything but a launcher, is it more optimal to do ground jump cancel -> air hits -> launcher -> rush -> air hits -> second launcher -> jump cancel -> finisher over jump cancelling and hitting again before first launcher? Maybe special attacks follow ups are different depending on chars as first string goes higher (and cannot land and special if you don't have an aerial one)? Thanks btw nice video!
Hey Globku, not sure if you know this (haven't got to watch the full video yet so i'm not sure if you know this). But Tien has a specific continuation to that basic combo, it goes like this: 2M, 5M, jL, M 2H (Launcher), H+S, L, M, 2H, jL, L, 2H, Volleyball Fist M So instead of ending it with an H, you can get a bit more damage by doing another aerial 2H and cancelling it into Medium Volleyball Fist, and you still get the hard knockdown.
When he said "basic combo" he wasn't talking bout the difficulty. In this case it means the combo you are going to build off of and extend depending on the situation and your meter/spark. AKA your bread and butter combo.
You dont know how happy i am right now, i never knew how to do the launcher in the air without throwing them up until now. THANK YOU SO MUCH GLOBKU KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND HOPE YOU REACH THAT 100,000 SUBS🤗
Great video, Globku. I have a suggestion: Make sure to go over exactly what a cancel is and how frames work. For the longest time I didn't know what a "cancel" was and how fundamental that knowledge is when learning a fighting game. It might seem advanced but I think it's something people need know right away so they know how they're doing what they're doing. It's the difference between knowing how to boil an egg vs. knowing *how* an egg boils, if that makes sense.
That makes sense. But I did explain what a jump cancel is for instance. "You cancel the attack animation into a jump". So taking that, canceling a special into a super is pretty self explanatory. I don't know, I feel like I talked about it during this video
Hey, so I am new to Dragonball fighterz and to the fighting game community in general and out of all the different types games I played ,fighting games are the hardest... Its frustrating to not know how to even do the basics in these game because I Really like dbfz but can't do proper combos... My question is how didi you guys become good at fighting games and how much time did it take? I am really determined to start playing fighting games to a decent lvl specially dragon ball fighterz.
Oussama Darkaoui tbh, my first fighting game was mortal kombat 10 and i got pretty good at it in a couple if weeks, for this game, i became pretty good after about a week so really you just have to spend alot of time in training practicing different combos and different things you can put together. Also, watching people play when you finally understand how the game works, will help you tons aswell cause you’ll see what they do in certain situations and you can apply it to your playstyle
It will take a bit of time, but that's natural, because what you're trying to do is way harder than the vast majority of single-player games and requires a lot of practice, seeking out and understanding new information and letting that new information inform your gameplay, etc. Don't fall into the trap of only practicing combos. You need to focus on other stuff, too, like developing good mix-ups and understanding neutral and stuff like that.
Just keep practicing combos. Practice practice practice. And watching these types of videos will help a lot. Don't get discouraged when you lose, just keep practicing. Losing is frustrating, but it's part of the process of learning.
In general I'm defensive and start with a jump back + assist. This blocks against most initiations. But there are character specific initiations that work well and are pretty safe.
Now look at that. For years I wanted to learn DBFZ. Greatest fighter game in my opinion. I paid mad money for the ultimate edition and then played it like 3 times. A simple fucking "Natural progression L>M>H" NEVER EVER anyone mentioned in their fucking guides. That is already SO damn helpful. This entire video already helped me more than the other 20 videos I'ver watched over the years.
Just got the game a few days ago, I can tell already I'm gonna be spending a lot of time watching these videos
Progress update?

8:01 is the true timing js
I mean, yeh, but he starts explaining then. You kinda need the context first.
Doesn't work for me I just learn combos the normal way.
my teacher once said: if u cant dance u cant fight. :) im sure he meant the footwork not the music beats inside ur head. but it worked.
Miciso why did narancia die then

Ik this comment is 2 years behind but u video rlly helped me about jump canceling tysm
thank you for the video. Great one !
Thanks so much for your videos. sooo helpful!!!
Hey Globku, not sure if you know this (haven't got to watch the full video yet so i'm not sure if you know this). But Tien has a specific continuation to that basic combo, it goes like this:
2M, 5M, jL, M 2H (Launcher), H+S, L, M, 2H, jL, L, 2H, Volleyball Fist M
So instead of ending it with an H, you can get a bit more damage by doing another aerial 2H and cancelling it into Medium Volleyball Fist, and you still get the hard knockdown.
He knows. But he didn’t do it or mention it to keep it simple for new players watching this.
I actually did it in the video though...

Good stuff man, thanks!
Could you go into how to start a match? Meaning is it more efficient to be reactive or go on the offensive from the start?
In general I'm defensive and start with a jump back + assist. This blocks against most initiations. But there are character specific initiations that work well and are pretty safe.
This video bro.... I'm s rank now😭😭😭😭 thank you senpaiiiiiiio
dude. i actually went crazy when i could do this combo.
You should talk about how to properly move around in a fight as I see so many people spamming charge which is easily punishable
i like how everybody played Android in the tournament that u been :D at least on the clips shown here
YO!! I would love to learn how to utilize well assists in my combos!!!
Please continue tutorial, that's give idea !
Hey I’ve been really enjoying your videos and I’m just wondering if later on in future could u make a combo video on dlc goku and frieza
Great advice!
