I really miss Germany, especially Karlsruhe (aside from Frankfurt where my plane landed) as it was my first city I visited when I first got to Germany. Definitely will be going back someday. :)
I was in this city 5 years ago for 5 days only. It was the only place I've been in Europe so far. I rode the train on those 5 days and it was very convenient. I hope we can have these light rail trains in Cebu City as it doesn't need to be elevated and is much accessible to all passengers.

@@transportenthusiasta1184 At most tram stops there actually are, but not in the city center (there trams are only allowed to drive very slowly anyway, because it's a pedestrian zone).
That's why we need the tunnel system we're building right now. the increasing traffic in the city center becomes more and more dangerous for pedestrians. It's almost done, opening is at the end of 2021.
@@PolarbearKA I remember seeing that construction last time in 2019. And even the car driver don't watch the tram when they drive😂 I was leaving Heidelberg in the morning and the tram route was delayed so I just walked further down and I saw a car had gotten hit by the tram😮
This great communication by train & tram's, connected to the all Germany from Karlsruhe to Saksony, really i.e. a fantastic development of this country after WW-II, & i.e. a great lesson to the countries, Under Development, as like Pakistan, which has distance of lacs mile from the world.........
They are building a tram tunnel under the Kaiserstraße, the main shopping street. And to keep the contruction area dry, they are pumping the groundwater via the pipelines out of the city.
A "bit" late, but that was not the case here. The blue pipes were for emergency flooding of the underground construction sites in case of the ground breaking to prevent buildings from sinking in and collapsing.
With a ticketsystem, Single tickets, daily tickets (Single, Family), Month Tickets and a Ticket for one year. And some train attendants checked the tickets. But mostly the didn't controlled it. But if they foundsomeonewithout a ticket, it will be expesive.
I disagree. If you've ever been inside of karlsruhe, you'd realize you cant even drive a car in there. The main streets are meant for trains only. Kinda like in an amusement park where you'd use a bus to move around.
Why do so many cities join two trams together? It doesn't make sense, it is much more helpful to run them as two separate services, or get a single unit that is already six sections long...

I miss Karlsruhe. I lived there from December 91 to June 93
Ex-US Army and ex-K5 visitor?
Ich war Austauschstudent in Hochschule Karlsruhe. Ich vermisse die schöne Stadt.
10:02 This station does not exist anymore actually. And I really miss this station, it was perfect for the students from KIT!

+Luftschlange Great video. I love the way the trams cooperate with the public. you won't see that in NYC, that's for sure!
+RHN - The Reino Hornson Network Well there is a small tram system across the Hudson River though. :-)
really? Where? is it upstate or in the NYC area?
+RHN - The Reino Hornson Network It's in Jersey City, check this out: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hudson-Bergen_Light_Rail

11:27 on the right site. Behind that 'Atlantik' Bar was a red light district, near Uni.. I walked once through there street 20 years ago 😁
Great! Thanks!
Those newer ones, the 200 series, are quite nice.
6:35 People just don't look before they cross the tracks do they.
I live here and no we dont look😂
There should be pedestrian signals near the tram stops so that people can wait if a tram has to pass through.

Wouldn't "tram-train" be a better translation for Stadtbahn in this case? Great video anyways :)

You should see the new Second Avenue Subway in New York City.
5:03 people take there bicycles too.
@STOCK MARKET inside a bus? Yes.
If you can fit an entire bus inside a train you are allowed to do that. 😂😂
What is that blue pipeline meant for that runs above the sidewalk?
water plumbing for the subway construction, it's a safety measure to apply pressure against the ground water (which is only a few meters deep)
I wonder what is that blue pipeline visible in many of your shots.

NO MATTER HOW BEAUTIFUL THE TRAM SYSTEM IS, IT JUST CLUTTERS THE WHOLE VIEW OF THE CITY. IT IS BEST THAT THE TRAMS ARE BURIED UNDERGROUND.
