    How things have changed cross city luas means St Stephens Green is no longer a terminus. The green linetrams run from Sandyford or Brides Glen to Broombridge or Parnell down the length of O'Connell Street . The ones that cross O'Connell Street are the red line trams from Saggart or Tallaght to the point or Connolly station.

    • @davidlally592
      @davidlally592 Год назад

      Yes and there us a reason why Dublin' s LUAS (tram) uses std gauge rather than the almost unique Irish mainline gauge (as used by both IE and up north, by NIR). Alto the 2 main IE Stations in Dublin (Dublin Connolly and Dublin Heuston) are connected by the east- west LUAS red line, there is no actual physical connection. So monies were saved re the LUAS gauge (the french design is in use elsewhere on the continent, which like next door GB, uses std gauge).

      Kieran Murphy it should be even more ambitious than that: anacotty p+r - UL - Horizon mall - City centre - docklands - Crescent - UCHL -Dooradoyle + p+R and possibly a second looping line using the existing rail alignment from moyross in through the city and back out again via the Ennis Rd possibly using a dual gauge setup. youd link up every major residential, employment and education centre and wouldn't ever need to take your car into the city again.
