As mentioned, this line (red) opened in 2011 with ~14km and 23 stops. An extention to 22km is in it's final stages and due to opne in summer 2023. 2 more lines are under construction, the green line (more advanced) and the blue (first stages). Thise 3 lines are the backbone of the system that will inlude 10 lines (based on the mane lines + extentiones). Another light rail system is under construction in Tel Avib. First line (red) due to open on November 30th but might be delayed as they have a signalling problem. 2 more lines (green and purple) are under construction and a larger metro system (3 lines, 150km, 108 station) is in the last stages of approval (construction might start in 2025/26 and first sections might open in 2032/23).
This light railway connect Jerusalem City, Amutinnion Hill and some quarters of East Jerusalem. Without it we should going into Pisgat Zeev by legs only.

I periodically ride this light rail. It's always reliable and clean but extremely crowded!
