I kinda stopped using make-up because of depression even though I used to enjoy the process.. watching your videos made me rediscover how therapeutic it is. thank u.
I have went through the exact same thing! Have started to feel a little better over the last month and have begun to play with makeup again. It's still a little awkward feeling but getting easier 😉 it is indeed therapeutic but it's HARD when you're depressed and have a hard time managing basic life things! Hope you feel better soon dear! ❤️
I completely understand this, as a MUA who can't work because of health I often feel frustrated because I want to work and paint beautiful faces but can't and that leads to further depression. Then it turns into not wanting to do my own makeup. I've been wanting to start a YT channel for over a year and keep putting it off. ♥️ Your not alone in your feelings babes 😘
You NEED LA Girl Blue pigment for that foundation. It will turn it beautifully olive! I never use any foundation without it now, it is just so good and so affordable as well!
I really love the way you describe and explain makeup. It shows that it comes from a traditional art background. As an artist you speak my language, so refreshing and different than other content creators. 🎨👩🎨💗
Dude.. its the first days of Ramadan here and for coffee addicts like myself the headache is a nightmare. So 18mins of you is really a treat. Thank you man 🤍
I’ve never applied the colourpop highlights with a brush, always with my finger or a sponge !! The sponge really melts it into you’re skin! Love this kind of chill trying out products video 😊
As someone with a SUPER PINK fair cool undertone, the face you made is exactly the face I make when trying 99% of foundations 😂 It's like they are trying to turn me into an Umpa Lumpa but it doesn't ever work, still the color of uncooked chicken lol... I thought about reviewing this but went with Tarte's new cloud foundation and flex concealer and am so happy with those on my oily dehydrated acne prone skin. Enjoyed as always 💕 Oh I am in love with Hindash's palettes! I used the purple as a blush and the others as a brow fill, bronzer etc and it's the bomb!
Hey Alex I think you may also need a white mixer . Try the la girl , they also have a blue mixer that really goes well with yellow foundation . It makes it more olive . Olivemua raves about the blue all the time as well as us.
You’re my favorite. I’ll be 43 in august and legit never got into the art of makeup UNTIL RECENTLY. You are my go to. I’ve learned practically everything from you and I have gotten compliments from certain techniques I’ve picked up from you (still scared of winged eyeliner but I need to just try). Anyway, brushes are what I need help with. I don’t want to try a million brushes but I’ll try 500k, could you do a video on what brushes you use for what? Maybe a comparison of higher end and drug store ones? You may have a video on this but I didn’t see it. Thanks for being a great teacher 🧚🏼♀️
Oh good, they are making foundations in more jaundice shades now! Seriously, that blended out way better than I expected. I want to thank you for the green corrector hack for foundation. I should have figured it out myself, but I am amazed by how well it works for light olive skin.
I have the Tower Bronzer and I LOVE it! I also love using it as eyeshadow it’s gives such a pretty glow and super easy to just pat on with fingertips. It’s my go to eye product especially in summer. The Elf powder is horrible for under eyes but looks good for the rest of the face for me anyways
That MAC blush is my absolute favorite right now. Marc Jacobs had something similar to it years ago and I have been looking ever since. It’s in a world all it’s own. 💜
I am light warm olive and I LOVE the Tower 28 bronzer in Gold Coast. I am 44 and I don't see any glitter or enhanced texture. That bronzer is perfect for fair/light olive tones. You should try the new Saie loose powder. Another RUclipsr said it's a great powder for people who don't like powder plus it's clean.
I love love Avene. Not many people talk about it but the products are brilliant. I use the Xera Calm AD as face wash, oil one for problem skin. My skin never look so good. Brilliant for dry skin.
i use both my finger and a highlighting brush for colourpop highlighters! i use my finger to apply it to the tops of my cheekbones, eyebrow etc wherever i want it to rlly pop, and then applying/blending w a brush makes it not as intense!
Have you tried the L.A. Girl mixing pigment? They have 4 different colors that you can mix into your foundation that can lighten foundation that too dark or you can mix in a blur pigment when you have a shade that's too orange. I used the white one for a shade of foundation that was too dark and it lightened it up. It really works! I would recommend it. Thanks for the video!
I’m glad to know that I’m not alone on the MUFE shades. I always look like I’m either jaundice or whole ass Oompah Loompa.🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Love the finish of the foundation but the color was ALL the way wrong on me too. Sending you love!♥️♥️♥️
i never really use the super shock products with brushes.. i use a TINY bit of the highlighter on a wet sponge, and for the shadows i put it on with my finger and maybe blend with a dense blush.
dude. if you liked the tower 28 bronzer, you should try the blush in magic hour! it’s my favorite easy cream blush and bc our skin tones are similar, i think the shade would work for you too. :)
You always give such great information!! Your explanations are fantastic!! You are an amazing teacher and I love your knowledge and ability to make anything work and look good!! Blessings to you, Alex!!✌️💚🙏
So I’m now on a waitlist for the Tower bronzer here in the UK! I also have cool olive skin tone- some days I look more yellow, some days green. Add the fact I’m 43 into the mix….😐. I’ve never found a bronzer I’m totally happy with I just end up looking like a glittery satsuma. So fingers crossed!
For the super shock formula: I usually use a tiny dense brush (zoeva concealer buffer brush) and kind of dotting it? For max payoff I use my fingers and kind of use the edge of my finger and dot-swipe it on
I’m so intrigued to try this foundation. Everyone’s reviews have been positive. That the finish is amazing. I’m hooked right now on NARS light reflecting right now❤️
Most of your foundation shade reccs work incredibly well for me, and I really loved the look of the MUFE HD Skin too- I got shade 1N10, added 2 drops lavender and 1 drop violet from Temptu (shade adjuster) and a touch of green (also Temptu) to two pumps of foundation and it matched me perfectly. Lots of work for a foundation shade but just wore the HD Skin to a wedding and it lasted gorgeously. Just in case you want to try it out with a potentially better match!
Hi! I have the HD foundation in 1n10 and it is a pretty great match. I’m also fair olive! You should try it! I’m in love. I wouldn’t have gone for a neutral shade. But it leans warm in my opinion (not orange at all) yay!!
I've heard a lot of good things about the HD foundation. I thought that lilac blush would be too much of a cool tone but then you put it on and *BAM* It looked amazing!
Alexandraaaaa, have you tried the foundation correctors from L.A Colors before? I would love to know your opinion, esp working it w this foundation maybe, just wondering 💭🧡
Try using a tiny amount of translucent powder before using a glowy powder under the eyes. In my experience any finishing powder or radiant powder radiance will crease bad right away if I don't press a matte setting powder in my creases first. Hope this helps.
I've used the ELF small stipple brush or my fingers for colourpop highlights and they has always does the job for me. Never tried it with a sponge but it would be interesting to see how that works since the product is like a powdery cream
Fabulous foundation on you. I’m concerned about how it would look on mature, textured skin. I’m off to get a sample try on today. Your combo of products look great. Love the beautiful blush..it really surprised me.
I remember when I first started doing actual makeup, and my go to powder was elf’s, I just got it cause it was affordable but I remember I would see flakiness and pealing on dry spots I didn’t even know I had🙄 apparently elf has just never changed the formula of their powders, idk about their new Camo Powder Foundation but their setting powders are soooo drying it’s insane!
Elf does have a few different underye powders. They are specifically for the undereyes. I had the same problem with putting the Glossier stretch concealer over the Becca undereye color corrector. It was to dry. I'll try it with a different color corrector next time.
Not sure if you have any ideas, my bags are purple so peach hasn’t even fully helped, and I’m a cool neutral pale. I always love your content especially because you have similar issues to me and I can learn for myself.
I loved how this turned out! I have heard mixed reviews about the good apple concealer which is what I'm thinking you were using bc that's the new one they came out with. I have the ELf HD translucent and I really like it but it's so finely milled I use the tiniest bit all over the face and under my eyes when I'm about to do my powder contour and blush, bronzer just so my cream face products don't get my powders stuck and I love it for that! Definitely want to try this makeup forever foundation now bc it looks so beautiful, you're so right about it looking like no makeup - makeup!
Beautiful. I stick to my finger for the ColourPop supershock formula too, not because it turns chunky, but because it doesn't seem to put down as much reflect with a brush. Curious if anyone else has made it work though!
I feel like you would super dig the new Sorella Apothecary dew drops. They are a 50 spf, super light tint, and super dewy. I'm obsessed, so much so that I ordered shade 4 to use as liquid Bronzer. Hope you try them they are my new go to base. Maybe I'll dm them to you cause they are that good. Lol
Ok, ok. You gotta give the Elf powder another chance as a finishing powder but not for undereyes. I use PMG under my eyes and the Elf everywhere else to give a filtered, soft finish.
