Full time Estethician student here! 🙋🏻♀️ I just wanted to say that you are correct about applying your spf that way! We are taught and my teachers heavily emphasize the importance of patting your spf on and kind of doing smaller sections like how you were doing and NOT just swirling it around in circles all over. 1.) to avoid pilling and 2.) when we apply spf it needs to be a very strategic and careful application and placement. If we just slap it on like a moisturizer rubbing it around everywhere then we’re just moving around the SPF. Really love this glowy look! The Kosas cloud set powder is my go to. I have normal, maturing skin with an oily T zone and find I can use this there as well as on my forehead and smile lines for a nice blurred effect that doesn’t settle into the lines. It also keeps the oil at bay pretty much all day. I’ve been surprised by Nars. I really enjoy their tinted moisturizer, concealer and cream bronzer.
I watched that Wayne Goss video and have adopted it in my routine and I'm very satisfied with the results. I really respect your suggestions too Alexandra. I'm with you on the sponge vs brush thing.
The pilling problem happens for multiple reasons 1) when you place an oil based product on top of a water based product or vice versus you may get pilling 2) too much product or 3) wrong order of applying products - you should always go from lightest to heaviest and leave enough time between applications to allow products to absorb properly. It happens to all of us 😉
I picked up the Fenty Body Sauce for when I bronze too much and my legs are white!! That stuff is amazing!! It does NOT transfer!! Even in the shower, it does NOT come off until you use soap. It's beautiful!! Love your channel!! Thank you❣️❣️

I have to say, knowing that someone who is as good at their makeup as you are is still in the struggle of products behaving weird on their face is SO COMFORTING. I feel like even products that worked for me for years now do weird things like pill or split when I put them on my skin. It’s soooo annoying.
For sunscreens, I 100000% recommend LaRoche-Posay. Expensive, but DAMMNNN is it worth it! I feel like it gives me a dewy glow and smooths my makeup out, and it’s super moisturizing as well.
Quite the contrary on wearing more makeup when we get older. It's the mere fact that as we age, we have to learn new techniques on how to apply. And we also learn that less is more. I turned to RUclips for new techniques on my aging skin.
what I have found is that you can't use things that make you shine all over like when one is younger. I did my makeup one day with daylight, used some Becca highlighters and color corrector and concealer and when I went in the bathroom and looked in the mirror I was horrified. I was just a face of shine and still had dark shadows and looked horrible. I borrowed my granddaughter's matt powder and got rid of most of the shine, looked so much better. A hint is better than a full face of shimmer on at least my older skin. My worse problem is the dry undereye area and trying to cover my dark circles that I have had my whole life. They only look worse with age
Rhonda, I am also much older than you. I am 74 and want to look nice. The struggle is real. The older you get the more your skin moves especially around the eyes.
The Kosas powder is great. And so is the blush. I was a teenager in the 90s, so I love glitter 😝. Laguna was the first bronzer that I ever used and has me hooked.
Good Lord this is so true - I’ve never been into makeup, but I’m 37 and recognizing maybe there are things out there to help…..skincarw, sunscreen and hydration are where it’s at 😅😅😅
You should try some other glow products like Glowish, Halo, MAC Radiance and so on. Basically, the new CC creams/skin tints/tinted moisturizers that have come up with the ongoing wave of 'dewy makeup'. And then rate them on how much you like them. I know that's not exactly your type of content😅but it will be fun.
Please do a full face with colorful makeup, that we can wear at work (in an office where mostly people wear very natural makeup and you always stand out ✌🏻🌝 )
You're really a great teacher for me. You use such a light hand with everything and the results are flawless looking. I think most people are way too heavy handed and the results just don't enhance and flatter IMO. Love your style overall. ❤
You definitely have an artist's eye. I love this look. I'm the same about Nars. I thought I'd try their pure radiant tinted moisturizer with 30 spf, having been a bareMinerals Complexion Rescue fan. I ended up really liking the Nars tinted moisturizer because it isn't as glowy as Complexion Rescue. I use Nars tinted moisturizer now with BM Complexion Rescue Defense with spf 30. I love the Nars cream blush btw. I'm going to look for that! Love the Melt luminizer. So pretty. The brush says 777 face on the website.
I started watching you because we had similar hair, but I’m growing mine out now and ughhhhhhhh, you’re making me want to cut it againnnnnnn. (And girl idk how to do makeup, but I enjoy watching you - love your nails)!!!

This combo looks stunning and very beautifully balanced on you. The Nars liquid blush in Orgasm is one of my personal favorites due to it's lightweight, semi-satin formula. It is easy to use with my finger to be a little more precise around textured areas; the gold reflect is also very fine, which I love. I wore it on my wedding day! 🙌👰🙌
Good morning beautiful, I’m with Agency( sister company of Curology). I was having soooo much pilling after I applied the Dark Spot Tx. As soon as I applied my moisturizer, oh my gosh the pilling was horrible. I reached out to my dermatologist and she told me to wait 30 plus minutes between applying each Rx product and moisturizer. Grrrr I hear you as it’s really frustrating as that’s a lot of product/ money pilling off our faces. And I use it very sparingly. It has helped. Tretinoin then I wait 1 he our so before the next Rx.treatment(tx). Good luck and excited for you on your new skincare journey
Neutrogena hydro boost water gel sunscreens my favorite. It never pills and works great under makeup. I use pore filling primer only around my nose. But they seem to work well together
Looking beautiful alex! I loved the blush as well . Didn’t really see an over abundance of gold flecks , adore the natural look this came out to be, just gorgeous, did see Wayne Goss video as well . Tried the technique it worked well for my eyes. And looked amazing on you as well. Thank you my guru of beautiful things
Setting spray? For the dryness? Looks beautiful but I’d definitely use setting spray and wait a few…maybe let the layers set in before moving on? Idk I have the pilling issue as well with moisturizer and spf and makeup. So yea I use time and light layers and tbh I don’t use powder if I do it’s only a touch and I press it in with my finger.
If I use a sponge for anything on my t zone, particularly my nose, it makes my already huge pores look even bigger. Brushes are the only thing I can use for foundation. I am naturally kind of oily so I always bought matte face products but now that im 32 I really need to find and invest in a good hydrating under eye concealer.
Dude- I love you flippin makeup videos. They are always so helpful. Will you review the new jaclyn cosmetics highlighters and bronzers? And Ariel x morphe makeup brushes please?
You look stunning!!!! I just bought some of those melt liquid sex foil can’t wait to use them!!! I had the same problem with my skin care making my foundation peel I went to Sephora and told them they said it had to be one of my skin care products and showed me a serum from caudalie and a toner from them to and I’ve been using them ever since and no peeling I also use a sunscreen of course!
Ma'am, would you mind doing a blush color reccs for fair olive skin? 🥺 You know, us fair green folks??? 🫒🫒🫒 Because finding the right blush without looking like a clown has been real tricky for me. Maybe about what colors should we use, what shades of pink, nude, coral, orange, or even...purple would work best for fair olive skin, how to use those colors and when to use them. Something that looks seamless with the rest of the makeup instead of just some pop of color on the face. Thank you. 😊
DO you tend to gravitate towards warmer colors in general or more cool? The problem with olive skin is that it can be warm or cool. But if you're using colors you think would look good but they jst stand out too much you might just need something lighter
@@AlexandraAnele Ooo...I didn't think you'd reply but THANKS A LOT!!! Kinda funny, the only one who has olive skin in my family is my little sister. I consider myself more on the warm side but compared to her, I have just a slight pinkness in me...? 🤔 I mean I look just a tad cool or ashy, if you will, against her skin. My mom has fair yellow skin while my dad more of light-medium, somewhat on the pink side. That's why I have no idea how on earth my skin looks green and ashy most of the time. I tend to gravitate towards colors like peachy pink and rosy pink when it comes to makeup. Heck, I remember my sister could rock peachy/orange makeup look while me almost looking like an oompa loompa. 🤦♀️ Again, thanks for the reply! 😊
You described my exact skin tone! My dad was full Italian with dark olive skin and my mom had light/fair skin. I feel I can never match a foundation shade well, or I need to mix shades. I love coral blushes but sometimes feel they don’t match my tone too well. Every time I’ve had someone shade match me they never match it- either yellow af or so much pink undertones that I look sick
@@margaretdujardin8864 I feel you. It took me years to understand my skin tone. I used to think I have medium skin with warm undertone because my skin tans pretty easily but when I started my first year in university I realized my skin is somewhat paler and ashier than I thought because I spent most of my days indoor (of course this was before quarantine). Foundation matching is a whole other challenge for me. I need to mix two different shades most of the time. On top of that, I have to use bronzer so I don't look ghostly. Thanks for the comment btw. I feel less alone somehow ☺️
I am such a fan of NARS Orgasm powder blush but I never used the newer cream version. There is a faint gold sheen in the powder one too but doesn’t accentuate texture. I love NARS innovative colors and formulas. Say have you tried any GLOW skin beauty products? They have really nice formulas. They make a very nice bronzer in sunlight similar to the NARS one you use in this. I have a yellow/orange undertone (aka peach) and golden overtone so it can be tricky for me too. I’ve not seen you use any BH eyeshadow palettes. I think their formula is easy to blend and really stunning shimmers. I think you might like Opalescence. It’s got 10 Mattes and 14 shimmers. I’ve really liked the shimmers in their travel palettes but the Opalescence palette shimmers are honestly some of the best I’ve used. It has some really nice golden browns, darker taupe and a deep muted plum shade too. Endless layering or draping with so many ethereal looks that are fabulous spring summer and daytime looks. 😉
I wash my hands between applying the layers. Every new product equals new washed hands. Sometimes I use a cleanser, that’s not too stripping, to wash off the products. That takes away the residue and it doesn’t dry out my hands. I also have this “hack” where I sit by a fan (like an ordinary table fan) when I’m applying my base/ sunscreen/skincare. Another tip that’s about blotting the skin during the day is to use a moist but not too damp (and absolutely not wet!) beauty blender and just carefully blot the face t zone. It feels so nice when it’s hot and it feels like I’m literally melting away. My favourite sunscreens by Hello Sunday. It’s called The One That’s A Serum. I know that both James Welsh and Robert Welsh have given it good reviews on their channels (in videos just a few weeks ago). I’m such an happy camper that I also ordered another of their sunscreens - The One That’s A Primer - from the Beauty Bay. And just like Alex is saying about sunscreen glow, that Happy Sunday spf serum that I got is giving my skin that really nice and plump glow ✨😌✨ I’m over 40, haven’t resides to any fillers (not yet anyway) and I’m having the skin I always dreamed of... Thanks for a great channel! Take care and don’t forget SPF 💫
You should definitely look into the Nars cream bronzers. I haven’t heard great things about the airbrush cream blushes but I LOVE the bronzers in both Laguna and Casino.
I use cream/liquid highlights as a base for my eyeshadow shimmers. It helps them POP. U HAVE TO BE STRAGETIC THO UPON APLICATION BUT ONCE U GET IT. IT WORKS WONDERS;)
Would it be possible to score a video from you about dark, deep under eye circles starting with skin care going through with makeup application? I’ve tried Wayne’s concealer technique and it just doesn’t work. Nothing I’ve tried has worked and I’m trying to avoid the needle. You explain things just so well. ❤️
I watched the same Wayne Goss video. Makes so much sense. Thanks for demonstrating this. Did you put sunscreen on your eyes? It always stings my eyes. I’ll have to try your choice.
sunscreens that don't peel : - 1 biore skin aqua super moisture milk ( blue bottle) -2 Canmake mermaid skin gel 01 clear - anessa mild milk spf 50 -tinted i use on top of shine spf is Australian gold botanicals spf 50
Since wearing prescription products my sunscreen peels off as well....I wear the Elta MD too...I love that sunscreen so much...please let us know if you figure out the peeling situation...LOVE your channel honey...you've taught me so so much!! ♥️
I mix my sunscreen with Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi drops, and I'm ready to go, finally not looking like I've just shagged a miller on a bag of flour, three times. Highly recommend ;)
Hey Alex :) I always had problems with sunscreens, especially in combination with makeup. The absolute best for me is the white Skin Aqua Sun Gel SPF 50+ with a golden pump. It is sooo lightweight. I am also happy, I can use it on my eyelids without tearing or causing problems with my eyeshadows. You can get it from yesstyle. If you want to try more on their website, I recommend the unscented skincare line from Purito (their Galacto Niacin is my favorite Niacinamid Serum) or the rice toner from I'm from. You could try the sunscreen and order some asian makeup for a full face, too, if you like. They have interesting face products, but I was never sure what to try. Maybe combine that for a video? Another lightweight SPF from a more mainstream brand is the Eucerin Oil Control Dry Touch Gel SPF50+. But I had too sensitive eyes for that one unfortunately. Use the correct amount in 2-3 thin layers and wait about 10mins before your makeup (half an hour is not necessary. It's in general a good tip to put on every sunscreen in 2-3 thin layers to reduce pilling. What also helps is to apply it on damp skin directly after your serums. Depending on the sunscreen there is no need for a moisturiser under.) Love your content!
Can you do a video solely on the new Melt liquid highlight? Like trying it multiple ways, please? Thank you! Your makeup looks bomb in the video BTW. Xoxo
We seem to have similar skin! One of the only sunscreens I could find that wouldn’t pill over moisturizer, dry my skin out, or sting my sensitive ass eyes was Jack Black’s Oil Free Sun Guard SPF 45. I think it’s suppose to be for face and body, but I just use it for face 🤷🏼♀️ I know you didn’t ask for recommendations, but sunscreen can be so annoying! Hope it works for you if you try it!
Love your videos and love how you bring your training as an artist to your tutorials 💕 Mr. Goss...he's awesome! I've tried this method and it works well for me. Despite a very visible blue vein that runs about from the center of left eye outward beyond the corner of the eye...
Love love your application techniques. I too have problems with dark and creased under eye issues. I’ve heard great reviews on Sisely’s Paris Phyto-Cernes Eclat concealer but howdy…the price is wow, high😬. I value your opinion so much, would you mind reviewing this product for us? Your my deciding factor to pull the trigger and buy it…..please ♥️.
Beautiful! Everything looks perfect! I have a lot of texture, but Orgasm blush really is beautiful. Try OrgasmX next time, it’s even more coral/ bronzed would look amazing on you. Or not. What do I know?
I really like that bronzer on you, better than the Wayne goss and Patrick ta one for sure. I have really fair skin and it looks like that might actually work for me. I find most bronzers make me look orange and ive tried several.
A recommendation for the peeling situation you got going on is to apply serums under sunscreen and avoid moisturizers I used to use the aveeno moisturizer (the water gel one ) before my sunscreen and had a peeling situation then tried out the vichy hyaluronic serum and omg life changing! it doesn't peel and it's super lightweight plumps your skin and super moisturizing highly recommend 😃(FYI I have dry skin )
beautiful, that looks stunning on you. it's probably a bit of a cliche, but I do love the nars orgasm blush (in various formulas) and the laguna bronzer. especially the bronzer is a great formula and a great shade too, for me at least (I am light, light-medium when I am not tanned). I am annoyed by the gold glitter in the blush, sometimes. what's puzzling is that sometimes I see it on my face and sometimes I don't (e.g. in this video I didn't see any on you). I suppose it also depends on all the other products that are beneath/around it, it can probably melt into some products, while it stays intact with others.
I use Elta MD everyday and it for sure causes pilling. However it’s the only sunscreen that doesn’t break my skin out. I found that it pills over peach fuzz so getting rid of that may help!
The Elta md maybe is peeling because the moisturizer. I use TATCHA WATER CREAM OR NEUTROGENA FOR DRY SKIN HYDRO BOOST AND IS ESPECTACULAR! Also I’m dry to normal.
Can you tell me if the new Melt highlight has any glitter in it. Like if you shined a phone light directly on it, does any glitter come through. A good example is the Rare beauty highlights. They look gorgeous at first glance but in the sunlight it's like a glitter bomb went off in my cheeks. Also, you should totally check out some NARS products. There are quite a few NARS that are holy grail status for me. Like their soft glow foundation/bronzers and powder blushes. They have incredible blush shades!! ❤️
try Ultraviolette sunscreen! its Australian and the only one the doesn't break me out. they have a couple of different formulations, I like the hydrating one :]
Pilling is sometimes caused by dead skin being loosened by product application and rolling up w the product. Might want to try exfoliating really well beforehand? Just a washcloth can do a good job and is gentle
Pilling also happens when product formulas don’t “get along” w/ each other, or if you use too much product! it happens with my serums and moisturizers when I get a little too crazy and heavy-handed.
I did watch the Wayne Goss method and even though he made sense, I cannot wrap my head around it on my own face. I’ll keep trying because you’re right about what he does, he is amazing!!! Now I need to go out and get the Melt Sexfoil :)

That bronzer is the perfect shade on you!
You look so good!!! I’m hopeful that after removing my under eye filler I can go back to my old self like you did!!
I have to say, knowing that someone who is as good at their makeup as you are is still in the struggle of products behaving weird on their face is SO COMFORTING. I feel like even products that worked for me for years now do weird things like pill or split when I put them on my skin. It’s soooo annoying.
oh my gaasssh that super blush, bronzer highlight trio is CHEFS KISS so stunning
UMMM this blush on you is GLOWING from the heavens
😭❤️
@@AlexandraAnele omg ILYsm
The Kosas powder is great. And so is the blush. I was a teenager in the 90s, so I love glitter 😝. Laguna was the first bronzer that I ever used and has me hooked.
The powder made a awesome difference. Looks amazing.
Love your content and Wayne Goss is another all-time fave. Thank you!
I am 44 yrs old and the older you get the more you focus on skincare, sunscreen, and hydration. 👍🏻 Hydration is good for the hair too.
🙌🏼
Based on your profile pic, your skin looks so glowy and pretty!
And sleep. And drinking lots of water. And avoiding super-greasy food (43 over here)
Good Lord this is so true - I’ve never been into makeup, but I’m 37 and recognizing maybe there are things out there to help…..skincarw, sunscreen and hydration are where it’s at 😅😅😅
duuuude, your brows in this one are so good. I mean they're never bad, but they're especially good in this one haha
was thinking the same thing!
Please do a full face with colorful makeup, that we can wear at work (in an office where mostly people wear very natural makeup and you always stand out ✌🏻🌝 )
I want to see that gold melt body shine!! Love the concealer technique!
You're really a great teacher for me. You use such a light hand with everything and the results are flawless looking. I think most people are way too heavy handed and the results just don't enhance and flatter IMO. Love your style overall. ❤
😭 Thank you so much Sara 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️
I work 12 hrs a day and I always make sure to squeeze in some time before I go to bed to watch your videos because your knowledge and tips with makeup is all that matters to me anymore! I love you!😍💖
Beautiful natural glow look. How about a fun summery colorful look.
It's 15 minutes that you're supposed to wait in between sunscreen and makeup or sun exposure :)
I watched that WG video too! I was very intrigued about that technique. " Target audience reached" 💕
Tower 28 has beautiful blush . Cream ones. 👍🏻🥰
I really love how thoughtful and deliberate your application is ❤️
Setting spray? For the dryness? Looks beautiful but I’d definitely use setting spray and wait a few…maybe let the layers set in before moving on? Idk I have the pilling issue as well with moisturizer and spf and makeup. So yea I use time and light layers and tbh I don’t use powder if I do it’s only a touch and I press it in with my finger.
2:25 what's funny is that you could edit that out but you leave it in and I love that because it really is funny, real life funny, unscripted lol 😄
I love how you didn’t touch the eyes at all 😍 so natural!
Im actually confused if she used some light pink shadow or her eyelids are naturally light pink. But so pretty 😍
It's a Japonesque Kumadori brush. Very nice for contouring and overall powder brush.
Again, thanks for the reply!
I had a problem with my sunscreen pilling when I was using a hyaluronic acid serum in my routine. Once I removed I no longer had issues.
Pleaseeee try some Nars complexion products! Their radiant creamy concealer is incredible
The best concealer ever imo!
Could we get Wayne to do your makeup and we can all finally just be happy 😂😂
My God. She looks absolutely breath taking 😍♥
UR SKIN IS....... GORGEOUS😍😍😍😍 U ARE STUNNING!!!!! LOVE UR CHANNEL CHICA👊😘 💯🤩🤗👍☺✌🥰🙈
I’ll have to try your choice.
sunscreens that don't peel : - 1 biore skin aqua super moisture milk ( blue bottle)
-2 Canmake mermaid skin gel 01 clear
- anessa mild milk spf 50
-tinted i use on top of shine spf is Australian gold botanicals spf 50
This is very useful, thank you 🖤
Biore UV Sunscreen is the BESTTTTT!!!!
Fenty orange cream blush has gold flecks too. It is gorgeous…
You always teach and entertain. So glad I found your channels!
Hey Alex :)
I always had problems with sunscreens, especially in combination with makeup.
Depending on the sunscreen there is no need for a moisturiser under.)
Love your content!
I think it’s suppose to be for face and body, but I just use it for face 🤷🏼♀️
I know you didn’t ask for recommendations, but sunscreen can be so annoying! Hope it works for you if you try it!
Love your videos and love how you bring your training as an artist to your tutorials 💕
Mr. Goss...he's awesome! I've tried this method and it works well for me. Despite a very visible blue vein that runs about from the center of left eye outward beyond the corner of the eye...
Same! Brush for lighter coverage, sponge for fuller! Every MUA says the opposite. 🤷🏼♀️
I tried Wayne’s technique and I love it. It works for me. Also, that end result is gorgeous.
I really like that bronzer on you, better than the Wayne goss and Patrick ta one for sure. I have really fair skin and it looks like that might actually work for me. I find most bronzers make me look orange and ive tried several.
I think I do too 😍 It's actually a pretty unique shade for fair skin I think. If you can, definitely go to sephora so you can swatch it!
Try Drmtlgy sunscreen it’s sensational . Also I use Lancôme Renergie spf 30 🥰☺️And yes I let my skin settle before makeup . Never pills
That armani neo nude is one of my fav foundations. I love it.
try Ultraviolette sunscreen! its Australian and the only one the doesn't break me out. they have a couple of different formulations, I like the hydrating one :]
Pilling is sometimes caused by dead skin being loosened by product application and rolling up w the product. Might want to try exfoliating really well beforehand? Just a washcloth can do a good job and is gentle
Eeeeeewwwwwwww. That might have something to do with it. Since starting my prescription products my skins been shedding for awhile 😂
@@AlexandraAnele I started using differin recently and I have the same problem 😅
Pilling also happens when product formulas don’t “get along” w/ each other, or if you use too much product! it happens with my serums and moisturizers when I get a little too crazy and heavy-handed.
I would love a video on various tinted moisturizers!
I did watch the Wayne Goss method and even though he made sense, I cannot wrap my head around it on my own face. I’ll keep trying because you’re right about what he does, he is amazing!!! Now I need to go out and get the Melt Sexfoil :)
