I made this video because these are products that were helpful to me with my newborn. I see a lot of comments saying these are luxury products and that people are disappointed because they are not must haves - perhaps I should have titled the video differently? - I thought “diapers, wipes, burp cloths, etc” which are obviously the must haves were a given and a list of products that I found helpful would be good to mention. I have a 2 minute disclaimer in the beginning that these are not must haves for everyone, but some people are still saying that I am out of touch with reality. Maybe so, but I can only offer what I found helpful, and like I said - If it’s not helpful or accessible to you I’m sorry.
My baby shower is this Sunday and I’m so happy to have all of your input and advice! I hope my baby likes the things I’ve registered for (LOL), but if not I’m glad to have alternative recommendations!!!! Also - your disclaimer at the beginning was more than sufficient. Ignore the negative comments. Those viewers need to work on their listening comprehension 😬
You gave the longest disclaimer I’ve ever heard, you could not have been clearer. If people have deliberately misunderstood that is on them. I don’t even have a baby but I still wanted to hear your perspective! Lots of love
I think you did awesome explaining everything and mentioning that every baby is different and will like different things than others... you gotta do what’s best for you and your baby! That is such good advice to tell new parents! Plus, the not buying too many baby clothes lol! I tell friends this all the time! Just like you, I found the most comfortable and economic outfits for both of my kids and stuck with them bc they worked, and then had a ton of clothes that they never wore! Then I had to organize and figure out how to get rid of all of them bc babies grow so fast! Of course, my youngest is almost 9 years old now and boy have things changed with all of the new technology and gadgets!! Thank you for sharing and, as always, love your videos❤️
Never apologize for YOUR opinions and experiences. People need to learn not everything deserves a reaction and a simple skip will do the trick lol. I don't have kids and could never afford to buy these things for myself or as a gift but I enjoyed learning something new. And you never know later on more affordable, similar products might come up. No need to leave hateful comments. You do you keep up posting what you see fit for your page.
Funny, 3 kids and I only ever once needed to get a nose clear... unfortunately all I had was my mouth. Them breathing was more important than my gross factor. So yeah, may have been nice to have that on hand!
The amount of guilt we put on moms is so infuriating. Stop shaming moms for using aides to help them! 😒 it's not an easy job, help is needed and should be available in whatever form.
My husband and I struggled for a family and I searched for stories similar to our for guidance and comfort. When you posted that you were pregnant I cried the happiest tears for you. Shortly after you announced we found out we were pregnant and life hasn’t been the same in the most stressfully wonderful way. I’ve been excited for your journey and for your updates. Thank you for being a real representative of motherhood. You make me feel normal.
Congratulations on your baby! The exact same thing happened to me, right after she announced I found out I was pregnant as well, just had my daughter this March!
My mom is pregnant (she is 43) totally unexpected pregnancy and it's been 18 years since she had my younger brother. She has no idea what she needs or what's available now days. Thank you Kristi!
For sure share this video with her. As she said at the beginning, these are not essentials, but rather, amazing products that while they may not be available to everyone's budget, if you can get it, why not. Having a baby is hard work, and we need all the help we can get. I had my youngest 8 years ago, and I am 25 weeks pregnant now with my third. I am amazed at the technology that is out there for babies and moms. Your mom may get overwhelmed with all the new stuff out there. My advice is look into more than one review for each product you are planning on purchasing... More reviews for the really expensive stuff
I love how me, a gay man who doesn't wear makeup, watching makeup videos has turned into me, a gay man who will never have kids, watching videos on must have baby gear.
@@toothfairy430 you are reading wayyyy too much into this darling. Kristi works very hard to earn her money. She's one of THE MOST genuine people on YT. She was literally just showing things that work (for her) vs things that were unnecessary. Saying how "gowns are perfect for newborns in between sizes and a wipe warmer helps a ton" isn't her boasting about luxury shit. Believe me Kristi doesn't want or need you to be a "blind consumer in our capitalist society." Good grief, give it a rest man.
About “tummy time”: It doesn’t have to be on the floor, it can be in a carrier or on your lap! So just because you weren’t doing traditional “tummy time” doesn’t mean that your baby wasn’t getting the work out he needs. Don’t feel bad that you did it differently!
Snoo sounds like a Mary Poppins that's really expensive but worth it. I don't get why ppl act like it's a sin to worry about yourself and not just your baby. You can't sacrifice your well-being and mental health. You'll be a better parent for taking care of yourself too. I cant believe how big he is! ❤
Exactly. Moms are still human beings with needs too. And if you aren’t good, it will trickle down. Same for parents collectively. My husband and I still make ourselves a priority and we don’t feel guilt for it. When we are good, Our little one is too. You still have to do things for yourselves. You don’t stop living just because you have a child.
For anyone out there who is shaming moms, please remember that it TAKES A VILLAGE! Nowadays, most do not have villages - so if you want to have a bassinet rock your baby, go for it! Mental health is more important than someone’s crusty ass opinions.
I only give one piece of advice to any expectant mum. That is, Do whatever the fuck feels right for you, dont let anyone force their opinions on you or make you doubt yourself. Your maternal instinct and bond(if you've developed it) are all you need!! Huge congrats again Kristi!!💜
I absolutely agree. I’m happy to hand my 3 month over to my husband when he gets home from work because even a quick 30 min workout or shower after a long day makes me come back to my baby with so much more patience and she deserves that! When I recognized that, going back to work soon doesn’t seem as daunting. All the power to you for owning what you like and works for you and your baby. Happy Mother’s Day!
I really wish people would talk about transitioning baby from SNOO to crib. Cribs don’t do this so what happens when your baby isn’t getting rocked and soothed anymore??
@@christinemsb8615 you start by getting them used to not being swaddled. First one arm out, then the second arm out, a couple days of each until they're used to it. Then you turn off the motion for a couple days so it's just white noise. Then we switched to naps in the crib and night sleep in the Snoo, not sure if that was necessary but felt good not to worry about a bad night while she was getting used to it. Then into the crib (with white noise). The Snoo worked so beautifully for us, we used it until just after 6 months, transitioned to the crib successfully and a couple weeks later did formal sleep training (Taking Cara Babies) and it clicked in a single night. My daughter is now 2 1/4 and is such a rockstar sleeper, she loves her crib and sleeps 11.5-12.5 hours every night.
@@christinemsb8615 I would say you have to rock them to sleep and transfer but I never had a snoo when my kids where small so I’m curious as to what Kristi has to say about it!!
@@shellyb2042 yea I think I would be worried that they get used to that constant motion so when the go to the crib it must be a tough transition?? But I mean people are spending the money so maybe it teaches them to sleep more soundly through the night? My bassinet have a vibrate feature and I only use that when I need 15 minutes to gather myself before getting the baby out
Yes, heaven laying down and feeding. I have like a permanent knot in my back from breastfeeding sitting up. Took 2 years of pain to get it back to normal.
Flash back to my mom bringing my brother home in a men’s white tshirt. It’s amazing what we have nowadays but for anyone who feels like they are doing their baby a disservice by not having the latest and greatest, all they need is your love 💕 So happy for you Kristi, Im here for all the new mom content
It honestly sucks that you feel like you need to defend yourself for using a smart-baby bed, because people will shit on you for being a bad mother if you don't clarify some stuff; and even then, they'll find things to criticize. You're a great mother for purchasing something that soothes your baby and makes both you and them feel comfortable. A happy parent is better than a stressed, sleep deprived one. Your baby is lucky to have you as a parent.
The 4moms bassinet is amazing! It’s a really good alternative to the snoo and for a more affordable price it’s also mesh on the sides and has 5 different rocking motions/speeds and 5 different white noises. It’s obviously not as amazing as the snoo but I highly recommend it if you’re on more of a budget!!!
We bought our Snoo secondhand and sold it when our baby grew out of it for the exact price. So they are kind of free... because they hold their value and everyone wants them as soon as you post them 😅😂💕
I was thinking about this. I bet you pretty much can make 90% of what you paid for it back if you sell it. It's really something your going to use for a short time. Then someone else saves a little money buying it used.
Absolutely appreciate the disclaimer at the beginning of this video. So many times new moms over buy when their money would be better used somewhere else. Love you girl
Kristi, Please try to ignore the hateful comments, I know that's easier said than done though. It boggles my mind that people take time out of their day to be so ugly. You know what is best for YOUR baby! Wishing you nothing but the best and sending you so much love and support ❤
Don’t have a baby, don’t like babies... but I’m going to watch this whole dam video because I love Kristi! It doesn’t matter what she’s talking about, she’s just so fucking relatable
It’s so hard to figure out until you have your baby and they tell you. The anxiety is so real right after they are born. Glad you are doing better. He’s beautiful. Thank you for being so honest.
Yes! Please do an in-depth review on the Snoo! I bought a gently used one from marketplace for $700 that came with extra sacks and covers. Moms that are interested look on marketplace, offerup, etc. I’m pregnant with my first and definitely wanted to get the Snoo but haven’t tinkered with it too much so a Snoo review is much needed. Thank you, Kristi!
I’m watching this after seeing my baby for the first time at the doctors this morning. This is our rainbow baby. I’m so excited to see all the things you recommend for us! 💓🌈
The snoo was so amazing for us. Baby was sleeping through the night by 4 weeks old. And was small enough to stay in the snoo until 9 months since the snoo weight capacity was 25 pounds. We switched to crib cold turkey starting with naps but kept the snoo running beside crib for white noise and each day got better! I was so stressed thinking about the transition but I promise it’s one of those things you will look back on and be like wow why was I so worried!
@@la1930 mine too and honestly a lot of this stuff is marketing. I agree with a glider/rocking chair of some type and a breast feeding pillow to save your back and help prop up the baby when they start trying to sit up. Beyond that I would add a sling or similar carrier you can use to nurse in while simultaneously chasing a toddler. The rest is optional and makes you wonder how any baby was raised without technology- I don’t think it helps but puts too much pressure on young mothers who grow up thinking every second a baby must be measured or monitored in some way. Less apps; more photographs- it’s what will matter in the end.
@@leaj3799 I totally agree. Mine are 22mos apart and my back suffered from first pregnancy to about 6yrs lol. Agree with the U pillow for feeding and learning to sit. I did both as well. Cheers Lea! ✌️👍🤗
I honestly love seeing you come into your own, you can just feel it in your voice that you are becoming more confident in yourself and your role as a mother. It’s beautiful to see
Oh my god. I didn't sleep for a 4 hour stretch until my twins were over a year and a half. I feel ya girl 😭😭😭😭 it's actual hell while you're appreciating the little bit of heaven that they bring. It messes with your head.
@@Rose-jz6sx the anxiety of putting one down and wondering how long I had till the other woke! Sometimes it would be minutes..... Sometimes an hour..... It was the not knowing that killed. And they'd often just stay up and have disco nights. Soooooo glad to be finally past that stage, even if it's still early days!! 😁😁😁😁😁
"I'm going to prescribe you sleep" Oh really, doc? Well do you have a baseball bat handy that you can knock me out with??? I hate when doctors tell you stupid shit like that. It's like, duh I know!!! I would if I could!
I do so wish they had the snoo when I had my second set of twins. The sheer amount of exhaustion and depression changed who I am as a person. What an amazing product
Wow...two sets of twins huh! Go mom. I had newborn twins and a 13 month old and felt like I was loosing my mind 😆. We adjust but when I look back on that time I'm just so thankful for my husband who was such a huge help.
@@britnywilson5402 good lord, you're superwoman lol. I'm 36, no kids and I've not quite come to terms with it yet. However I do cat rescue instead. I am the cliché 😆
Hello Kristi I am a pediatric occupational therapist do not underestimate tummy time !!!!!! It’s extremely important developmentally. Babies not only gain neck control but their back muscles get stronger, they start to shift their weight from one side to the other so they prepare their body and muscles for crawling, their arms get stronger plus sensory wise they have the opportunity to explore different textures and temperatures ect. All these are prerequisites for successful crawling , walking , object manipulation, visual perception and so on!!!!
My son had torticollis and had to have an OT come out to the house weekly...we did LOTS of tummy time...she explained the benefits of belly time and how they've seen a change because some don't get enough...since they changed babies sleeping on belly to back is what she meant
Tummy time is also important for developing muscle tone that is needed for future speech and swallowing mechanisms! I didn't know this until my 4th baby!
I am so grateful to have your advice and recommendations as a mom. I’m 31 weeks pregnant and I constantly look to you for an actual sound mind. Thank you so much!
I would be nervous about weaning baby off the snoo too lol it sounds magical being all automatic. I have a bassinet with a vibrate button and I just push it when I hear her get fussy (I’m a pretty light sleeper) and it only stays on for like 5 minutes which is perfect for soothing her back to sleep. Nothing fancy but it has worked for us so far! And yes a glider is essential, I’m SO glad we got one 🙌
I’m 11 months into my breast feeding journey and have used my brest friend everyday since my daughter was born. It’s what I recommend to all women planning on breastfeeding
I remember you talking about the SNOO Kristy and as soon as I found out in November last year that I was pregnant (surprise!) The SNOO was the first thing I purchased. I found a used one from another parent for a great price 👍
I’m always amazed at how much stuff is available nowadays. I think it’s cool there are options. There wasn’t anything like this when I had my daughter nearly 30 years ago lol! 😂
I KNOWWWW! My oldest is 35 and I was just flabbergasted by how easy that car seat made into a stroller. I had the umbrella stroller for quick trips but getting the big stroller out was a freaking ordeal. Take the baby out of the carseat, put them in the stroller, if said baby was asleep you held your breath until you got them settled or in my case they always woke up as soon as the car stopped moving.
I have a almost three years old son and I still use the wipe warmer!👍🏼 and we only used onesies with zippers 0-3 and 3-6 months! My husband hated anything with snaps! 🤪🤷🏻♀️ and we use an app that’s free on our phones for white noise! It’s called Relax Melodies!👍🏼 we play rain sounds and we all enjoy it still!❤️😉 love to see your doing better! It broke my heart to see how hard things were for you in the beginning after wanting this baby so much! But it’s great you’ve overcome that and now you’re happy and enjoying motherhood!❤️😍 so so happy for you and your family!
It sounds like you're doing great and a lot of the mums here too. I'm a granny and I think the price of baby stuff is criminal but a happy baby is a happy family. I came to this channel originally for the cut crease but I've stayed for the lifestyle ❤️
The same people who call you lazy for "letting a machine do your job" are the same people who will take their baby on a car ride to calm the baby down, or the same ones who prop a blanket under the baby's bottle, instead of them holding the bottle themselves, but then judge people like you for letting a "machine" take care of your baby. They're just hypocrites!
The SNOO is amazing!!!! We rented it for about 5 or 6 months. My son slept so much better in it, and it was a lifesaver for me getting some rest. And don’t worry about weaning him off of it, we had no problem when we followed their recommendations
I never compared the prices so you may want to check to see how they compare to Amazon, but I always ordered the diaper and wipes bundle direct from Honest's website. You choose the size, type(s), patterns, frequency, etc.
My baby is 2.5 months old and I found out about the Snoo rental from you and you are 100% right, game changer! My baby boy loves it and it gave/gives me such piece of mind!
Love this!! It’s so true about baby things being stupid expensive. Don’t think you need to buy anything new also. If you’re a new mom and really want to try the expensive stuff. Facebook market place has been a really great place for me.
I think the best part of this video is how genuinely happy you seem. Each time we see you, you're a little further past that initial exhaustion and the sheer hardness of newborn babies (who are wonderful but really hard!) and all of the joy is starting to be so much more apparent 🤗🤩
Kristi, I love that you never push your opinion and always stay considerate of other people feelings and opportunities. In a very genuine way. I, myself, didn't need anything except ergo baby, muslin cloths, wet wipes, diapers, clothes for the first 4 months. Really basic. I just was too overwhelmed with all the "you Need to have this 101 items to keep your baby alive" and honestly couldn't figure out what I would really need when baby comes.
I want to say that I have watched three videos of you and your husband and I am so proud of you. Goodness, yes, you have shared your heart and you said so many things that needed to be said. Your son is BEAUTIFUL and I am so thankful that you are both healthy and doing well. May God continue to bless you all. Keep up the great job and you look beautiful and amazing. All the best to you and thank you for sharing.
PLEASE tell me you flew him around in his gown & said "ooOOOOooOooOoHHhhh" pretending he was a ghost?! HE prob didn't/won't care but it will be amusing to you & you need to laugh! 😘
I’m a new mom. My baby is 4 months. For everyone complaining about these luxury products; I have survived without any of them. The first three weeks were brutal and I don’t think I ever cried as much as I did in those weeks. But time passes and things change. You will get through it. You were made for this. It gets better. My son sleeps from 10pm-5am, no SNOO needed. You will overcome that newborn season. Trust me
My sister has a 2 year old and uses the hatch and loves it also. She uses the static for sleep and in the morning they set it for bird chirping and she knows that means she can get up. It helped her to sleep longer and went from waking up at 5:30 to now 7am.
33 weeks pregnant. I really appreciate hearing your opinions and suggestions💜 I’m a first time mom that wasn’t supposed to be able to have kids so I’m kind of learning as I go through my pregnancy, and I really value your opinions and input, so it’s nice to hear what you found to be helpful 💜
My children are 22,24 and 17 and I really wish I had had this back then. My first child in particular wanted to be held literally all the time and I don’t think I got more than a half an hour sleep at a stretch for the first six months.
I’m almost 32 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I always look forward to your makeup suggestions so now I am so happy to get your baby suggestions too 🥺
I’m currently trying to fall pregnant. I’ve been watching these types of videos for YEARS because I’m crazy and love them. Yours was so insightful, all your baby related videos have been raw and honest. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤️
Maaannn I went overboard with my first but by the third got here I got a nose frida, a boppy pillow, bathtub, bumbo, clothes, binkies, and a shit ton of diapers. The most helpful thing I had was his bassinet that I could wheel him around with while I did household stuff and a swing! They pass through that infant stage so fast!
I am SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY for you, that you CAN give your child EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING he might need, and be so attentive and attuned. YES!!! Mothers need all the help they can get!!! If I ever want kids, I definitely want to be able to make their coming into this world experience as easy as it can be.
I bought so much useless stuff when I was pregnant with my son. What I actually used: muslin blankets, diapers, onesies, car seat, stroller, bouncer and a baby bathtub....that's it...I ended up co-sleeping with him topless so I could sleep and he could nurse when he felt like it (both he and I were happier for it...side note, I'm a very light and aware sleeper thanks to my time in the Army)...later on we got him a fun tummy mat...but that was really all we used in his first 4 months
As a grandma-aged watcher and a lady with two grown sons I want to thank you, Brianne, for bringing some reality into this conversation! I love Kristi and am so pleased we get to watch her & Zach raise that sweet boy. The thing is, nearly everything she mentioned is, at best, either a "want" or a "high-end version" of things parents really need. I was amazed the first time I saw a wipe-warmer lol Since hot water took forever to get to the tap from the water heater, I was tossing washcloths into the microwave for 10 seconds to warm before wiping Baby LOL We were broke college students and too poor for "fancy" things like wipes and disposable diapers. 🤷🏻♀️
Got my ear buds in and I thought my kid was crying every few minutes....he’s 7....finally realized it was baby Alder....thanks Kristi for putting this video out...I wish I had the Snoo when my boys were babies bc they had to be held all the time....irritated me to no end when ppl would tell me I’m spoiling them...now I can’t get all the luv luvs I want and they’re so big I don’t pick them up 😭😭😭😭....enjoy every moment that you can...it’s such a precious time.
Honey, I completely understand what you went through. I had the same anxiety and was terrified that my daughter was going to stop breathing. Driving? I literally drove like 15 mph when she was first born. I had a very difficult birthing experience. And I also had to be induced. I think I actually got PTSD from it. And I’m not saying that as an overreaction because I already had PTSD before I had her. So nobody come for please. You’re doing great mama. And I just wanted to say if you happen to see this comment, you do not have to explain yourself in your videos. You’re the mom and he is your baby. It is completely ok for you to buy expensive items to make your job as a mom a little easier you need all the help you can get the first few months. It’s soooooooo hard! I hope you are managing your anxiety. I know how hard it can be. Just remember to breathe once in a while. Thanks for sharing with us! 😚
I’m one of those ladies who is struggling to conceive and it’s get harder as I’m approaching 39. I tend to steer clear of videos like this bc it can put me in a mood but I just love watching you and your family. ❤️
If it's any comfort, my friend had her first successful pregnancy at 44, after a lot of ivf and a few miscarriages, I'm going to her baby's virtual first birthday party tomorrow! It's a hard, hard road I know, but there is hope ❤️
I was so sleep deprived the first 2 weeks of my son's life that I started slurring my words in conversation. It was horrible 😳 Also, I loved my Boppy pillow.
Mom of two, 8 months and 3 years. I understand what you mean by buying things thinking they will be helpful or ease your anxiety. Although I didn’t buy really expensive items, im frequently on Amazon and if I think I’m running low on something essential I buy it immediately. That is my version of calming my mommy anxiety. I learned very early on every stage has its own challenges, once you figure out one thing you are crying about how difficult the next thing is. That’s why I always think my oldest is the hardest - I’m learning to be a mom to my babies every single day. You’re doing great to all you mamas
I hope no mother would judge another for using a swing or rocker to sooth a baby. Mom (& dads) need rest too & if that means a snoo helps to sooth a baby back to sleep then so be it. As long as the baby isnt there 24/7 & neglected.
I bought everything for my first... used like half of it. When I had my third, I used like 5 things. You find what works for your family and just go for it. Glad to see you found what works for you. The snoo sounds amazing!
The Snoo sounds amazing. I have insomnia and I'm an incredibly light sleeper. If I wake up at night it's 50/50 if I ever get back to sleep. Knowing there is a device that can help makes me so less scared to have a baby.
My son has special needs and has a lot of sleep issues. He’s 1 year 2 months and we use the Summer Soothe and Vibe portable soother. You can get it on Amazon and it vibrates and has 2 lullabies and 2 white noise sounds. You can also control the volume (only 2 volume settings). It also has velcro straps so you can strap it to the slats of the crib. We use a pack and play so I just wedge it in between the mattress and the mesh of the crib. It seriously helped him sleep so much. He can’t sleep if it’s too dark or quiet so this was awesome
The Hatch saved us when we moved our daughter to her bedroom. Not only did the white noise comfort her but it made it so we didn't have to be super quiet all night long, it blocks out sound so well! We also use the static setting. Great list! Definitely buying some of those lights for my baby due in August :)
So glad I found this video. After I saw your struggle with fertility and the blessing that came to you guys it renewed my hope that i could also have a child of my own. My husband and I had tried for 13 years and I gave up hope and then a few weeks ago we found out that we are with child and I think the hope I received from watching your videos really helped me mentally remain positive and bring this blessing into our life. I am currently 2.5 months along and it's still early but just had to say thank you for inspiring hope. And as this is my first child, there is no one else I'd rather watch for guidance on what the baby needs lol so thank you!!
Thank YOU for mentioning gowns. I feel that they are so overlooked and even can be hard to find in baby sections. I always give gowns at baby showers because I think so many new parents don't know about them or think they're not "cool" We had a My Breast Friend too and when it wasn't being used for baby feeding, my hubs thought it was funny to walk around with it as a personal chip or snack bowl carrier. :)

Congratulations on your baby! The exact same thing happened to me, right after she announced I found out I was pregnant as well, just had my daughter this March!
Congratulations, how amazing ❤️

My mom is pregnant (she is 43) totally unexpected pregnancy and it's been 18 years since she had my younger brother. She has no idea what she needs or what's available now days. Thank you Kristi!
You and your bro survived so just tell her don’t feel the need to be modern everything she did back then worked everything now is just a bonus
Congrats to your mom but I'm 43 and your comment scared me...lol
@@JulieCBirch lol it scared me too
My mom also had an unexpected pregnancy and 43 lol. Must be that kind of age 😅
Do I have a baby? No. Will I watch this entire thing and love it? Yes, yes I will
^THIS 😁
lol same.
Same, it's been many years since I had babies but I'll watch entire video.
Do we just love Kristi? Yes, yes we do
Omg yesssss
I love how me, a gay man who doesn't wear makeup, watching makeup videos has turned into me, a gay man who will never have kids, watching videos on must have baby gear.
This comment makes complete sense to me. I get you! I really understand.
🤣🤣🤣❤
Kristi is so easy to watch. Shes very pleasant 🤷♀️😊
Hey welcome to the party 😂😂
@@toothfairy430 you are reading wayyyy too much into this darling. Kristi works very hard to earn her money. She's one of THE MOST genuine people on YT. She was literally just showing things that work (for her) vs things that were unnecessary. Saying how "gowns are perfect for newborns in between sizes and a wipe warmer helps a ton" isn't her boasting about luxury shit. Believe me Kristi doesn't want or need you to be a "blind consumer in our capitalist society." Good grief, give it a rest man.

How are you getting on now?
About “tummy time”:
It doesn’t have to be on the floor, it can be in a carrier or on your lap! So just because you weren’t doing traditional “tummy time” doesn’t mean that your baby wasn’t getting the work out he needs. Don’t feel bad that you did it differently!
This is a very good point, we held him upright constantly so that would be his “neck control tummy time”
Amen sister
Yes! Our girl liked to be on our shoulder, like you do when you burp them. And that’s when she would lift her head a lot and build those muscles
Breastfeeding counts as tummy time in the UK!
@@charmax88 how interesting! good to know!
“You can’t pour from an empty cup”.
@@FlorenceIsOnFire my thoughts exactly!!
Right?! How the hell are we supposed to raise our kids if we don’t take care of ourselves?
Exactly. Moms are still human beings with needs too. And if you aren’t good, it will trickle down. Same for parents collectively. My husband and I still make ourselves a priority and we don’t feel guilt for it. When we are good,
Our little one is too. You still have to do things for yourselves. You don’t stop living just because you have a child.
It’s unsafe.

Thank you 💗
I absolutely agree.
I think the SNOO would be a great gift to put on your baby shower registry and people can go in on it as a group
Very true! That was even if they only get together half of the money ($500-$700) You can at least rent it for the necessary few months!

Kristi I cannot thank you enough for continuing to normalize breastfeeding and sharing your journey so realistically with us.
Pregnant with #3 😨 Game-changer for me was breastfeeding lying down. Never looked back. Good luck to all expecting and new mommas! Aloha
Yup! Nursing made me sleepy - so laying down was just the best!
This is us every morning! He wakes up BRIGHT EYED at 6am and momma needs a little more sleep so side-lying nursing it IS! And he loves it
Yes, heaven laying down and feeding. I have like a permanent knot in my back from breastfeeding sitting up. Took 2 years of pain to get it back to normal.
Yep! That’s how night feeds went with both my kids. Even if you’re not asleep it’s better rest than sitting up and so much more comfortable.
So they are kind of free... because they hold their value and everyone wants them as soon as you post them 😅😂💕
I have heard this!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
I was thinking about this. I bet you pretty much can make 90% of what you paid for it back if you sell it. It's really something your going to use for a short time. Then someone else saves a little money buying it used.
Thank you for sharing this!!
I’m AT LEAST 5 years from even thinking about having a baby, so basically I’m gonna start saving for a snoo now😂
Smart!
Good idea. And get stuff used too helps save a ton
LOL
Me too, the snoo looks so helpful but damn that’s 2 months rent right there 😬
HIGHLY relatable comment 😂
Absolutely appreciate the disclaimer at the beginning of this video. So many times new moms over buy when their money would be better used somewhere else. Love you girl
Kristi,
Please try to ignore the hateful comments, I know that's easier said than done though. It boggles my mind that people take time out of their day to be so ugly. You know what is best for YOUR baby! Wishing you nothing but the best and sending you so much love and support ❤

Congrats!!
Take lots and lots of pictures...my boys are 23 and 20....and it seems like just yesterday they were babies...they grow up so fast 🥰💜
This is so true
Agree mine 22 and 20
@@la1930 mine too and honestly a lot of this stuff is marketing.
Cheers Lea! ✌️👍🤗

Seconded. It is an absolute MUST HAVE for newborn feeding.
Agreed so good I have two lol my baby was born over 10lbs and now over 11 I could not survive without

@@chellecopley67 OMG exactly! That car seat is a total game changer LOL.

The Snoo is 100% my #1 must have as well! Amazing product 🤍 my 2 month old sleeps 5-8 hour stretches only in the Snoo. Love your baby related videos!
It sounds like you're doing great and a lot of the mums here too. I'm a granny and I think the price of baby stuff is criminal but a happy baby is a happy family. I came to this channel originally for the cut crease but I've stayed for the lifestyle ❤️
Ooh - another piece of great advic: Get a lot of stuff second-hand! Clothes. Toys. Outdoor clothes. Second-hand is a godsent for saving money.

This is SO helpful!! I’m 7 months pregnant with my first child and I find these videos so handy!

We should just label pregnancy time as quarters . The first 3 are in the belly and the last one is that new born stage
Apparently they do call it that because so many changes with baby and mom happen at that time I assume
The fourth trimester!

I used the boppy pillow for tummy time. I put him in the middle and the boppy under his middle and he loved looking around.
It was horrible 😳
Also, I loved my Boppy pillow.
The snoo sounds amazing!
snoo should straight up be covered by insurance, wish I had this with my firstborn
The company is currently trying to get approved for insurance coverage, but that could take a couple years ☹️
The Snoo sounds amazing. I have insomnia and I'm an incredibly light sleeper. If I wake up at night it's 50/50 if I ever get back to sleep. Knowing there is a device that can help makes me so less scared to have a baby.
Being a lady due at the end of may with none of her ish together “you can get most stuff later” is very reassuring lol
Girl as long as you have diapers, clothes, eating figured out and a place for them to sleep you are doing just fine! Congrats!!
Basically, all you need at first is a few clothes, diapers whether disposable or cloth, car seat, and some sort of sleeping thing, you'll be good. Lol
You will save a ton of money that way.
Budget version of those orb lights is vava brand on Amazon. They tap on and off and have multicolor function for older kids too
The Hatch saved us when we moved our daughter to her bedroom. Not only did the white noise comfort her but it made it so we didn't have to be super quiet all night long, it blocks out sound so well! We also use the static setting. Great list! Definitely buying some of those lights for my baby due in August :)
That chair you sittin on is a must have for me, lol!
Yes omg it looks amazing
So glad I found this video. After I saw your struggle with fertility and the blessing that came to you guys it renewed my hope that i could also have a child of my own. My husband and I had tried for 13 years and I gave up hope and then a few weeks ago we found out that we are with child and I think the hope I received from watching your videos really helped me mentally remain positive and bring this blessing into our life. I am currently 2.5 months along and it's still early but just had to say thank you for inspiring hope. And as this is my first child, there is no one else I'd rather watch for guidance on what the baby needs lol so thank you!!
Ok, we understand, you are a subscriber who doesn’t have a child or plan to anytime soon and you still clicked so fast, lol! 😂😂
Hahahaha this is seriously all the comments 😂
😂😂😂
At least she has loyal fans. 🤷♀️
I love how all the comments rn are "I don't have or want kids but I'm watching this!" Because same. I feel safe and seen.
I commented on one of your earlier videos to let you know how your story and openness with infertility helped me with my own struggles and I ended up conceiving not too long after you. My baby boy is a week old today and all your videos are so helpful and I feel like we’re mommy friends lol. Love you Kristi ❤️
