Kate, I love the photos on the wall behind you, when you look close they tell a story about you and your family. You look so rested and calm today I believe not watching the news has really gave you back the sparkle in your eyes. I watched the previous videos of you spinning it was so interesting would love to see some more. Hello to everyone on the lime green sofa, I hope when this is all over we continue to meet on the sofa and enjoy all the friendships that have been made. Take care everyone and as Kate says, "keep your hands busy."
I love hearing you say, “Get into your hands.” My grandmother used to say, “At the end of every day, have something to look back at to show you did something.” I’m using this time to catch up on projects. Stay safe and I look forward to hearing from you each day.
That is a new expression for me, but I like it. I got into my hands yesterday and made those folded newspaper pots Kate showed us a few weeks back. They were lots of fun to make, and my cabbages are moved into them waiting the next step to the garden.
The sweater pattern link has changes to - www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/-9725-neck-down-cardigan-for-women I had to chuckle as you recounted starting to knit and having to rip it all out. I knitted a bottom up Elizabeth Zimmermann sweater last year that I thought was sized appropriately, only to discover (about 18: in) it was roughly the size of a small yurt. I came to this conclusion during a family gathering and the looks on everyone's face as I grumbled and started to take it completely apart was precious. I hope everyone is well today. After a 3" snow yesterday morning it looks like warm weather is headed our way here in the upper Midwest (and, Kate, you are about two days behind us, weatherwise, to hold on!) Time to get serious about gardening. I really enjoy seeing everyone's projects on Instagram. Truly amazing talent seen there. Stay well, all. Make happiness where you can!
Dear, dear Kate, You are just an amazing woman! When you said, "we'll get through this", it moved me to tears. You are always sunshine in my day. Since we have the LGS, I feel it has brought all of your RUclips friends so much closer. Even if we don't talk to individuals, we send love and good wishes to all our sofa friends. It truly is a small world. We are all richer by far knowing you, Kate, and knowing each other. Blessings and peace to all. Love. XO
I’ve been out bringing some Spring back inside with me. Preparing to settle myself to painting and puttering about. And can I just say how comforting you are to us?? If Kate says we’ll get through this then there can not be a doubt that we will!
I'm a teacher in the 🇺🇸, so teaching virtually and working on puzzles! Not complaining because God has blessed me and my family with health and a job that can be done at home. Stay strong and safe!
At the start of each day, The Mister plays for us “There’ll Be Bluebirds Over The White Cliffs of Dover.” It gives us hope. Later in the day, I watch you. You are very calming and I appreciate that so much. Thank you and Cat Rita for today’s cheer!
Thanks Kate for all you do with your vlogs/podcasts ...... they always bring a smile ...... we farm down in Wales UK and our swallows returned about 2 weeks ago .... they come to nest in the same barn year after year and are so beautiful to watch..... I have taken to my spinning wheel this week too ... and also stopped watching the news except just once a day .... as you quite rightly said at the end.... we will get through this and I do hope that we will all be more mindful and grateful for the many blessings that we have every day that we may have taken for granted in the past and that we become ‘nicer’ human beings because of it. Stay safe and well .... xxxx
well another lovely moment you say your not watching the news and your feeling better . wellI Im watching you every morning before I go to work that makes me feel better here in New Zealand. I wake up to a video from you waiting for me every morning and it sets me up for the day.I manage an aged care home and Im terrified that my residents could be affected by this outbreak but I can't show it. You ground me into to remembering what is important and make me happy every day. I can't thank you enough for being there for us sending you virtual hugs and smiles Fiona
you have someone really great in charge of your decision making - if I could - I would make her President of the World! that broadcast she did about the easter Bunny was wonderful! You take care there in New Zealand - sending love to the best place on earth (after Northumberland) xxx
Love the cardigan was sure it was hand dyed nice to know it was your own.Spinning and dyeing was always on my wishlist. To all the kind people who wished my mother well she is now free of her infection and was even able to tell her carers what was in the freezer, she had been so confused,so we know she is on the mend. Thank you again.
Hi Kate. I have been sewing up a storm. Shirts from flannel for family members as it is still very cold here in Maine. Keeps my mind and hands busy. Good to 'visit' with you today, and all who sit together on the LGS!. What a lot we are! Hugs all fro Maine.
Hello dearest Kate, I Love your gardigan it's so pretty reminds me of a beautiful spring flower garden you truly make everything bright and cheerful I'm keeping my hands busy with cross stitching amongst other projects Thank You again for all your Love and Care xxx
Love your cardigan too. I am picturing the long lime green sofa in a grand meadow bursting with spring. Passing my chocolate chip cookies I made. Aaahhhh, lovely
What a lovely sweater and you spun the wool! My goodness gracious, I do admire you with all your talents! As much as we try to put on a happy face, sometimes the melancholy slips in. I think that’s alright as long as we don’t get stuck in the mire. A little smile, a little laugh, and once in a while a little tear. Love to all!
Kate, we are just entering our 6th week of lockdown here in Northern California. My daughter, 12, has joined us on the lime green sofa. We have been working together out in the studio in the yard, making masks for medical folks and our community. This is a strange and unsettling time for the young people, they will carry this with them forever. So I am so pleased that she will also carry very strong memories of the two of us working together with our hands to do what we can. We listen you your chats (she thought I was mad at first, but now she completely gets the point), and we sing sea chanteys and we have a good old time out there.
Oh, and I wanted to say that the internet has been getting slower and slower here on a daily basis. That could be part of your problem. People are streaming and zooming and using a lot more bandwidth than normal. Everyone in town has noticed the change. It's ironic that here at home my family has had to move closer and closer to the dining room (where the router hides in a cabinet) giving up sunny windows in other parts of the house, mirroring the way we have all had to stay home and leave the outside world behind.
Hi Kate, thanks a lot for the nice little chat. I really appeeciate that you are not monetizing the channel for now, but of course I would understand and keep watching the videos if you would. I'm currently spending a lot of time on the computer (unfortunately) but also in my sewing machine - and I like that. Getting not half of the things done I would Like to, but that's ok. Your videos about spinning are always encouraging me to try that as Well. So far I didn't, but nie and then I see a spinning wheel in the second hand pages and think about your videos and how much fun that would be. xoxo from Germany Stephanie
Hello Kate and everyone on the LGS. Your cardigan's colours make me think of Rembrandt's paintings! lots of love to you and everyone else. Take care, XX
We are well here in Ohio. There are only 2 cases of the virus in our county. We are very hilly and sparsely populated. I am never bored at home, always something interesting to do. I love using my hands to create things. I tried your fabric box, it turned out well, I love it for chucking odd spools of thread into. I also made a row of your stained glass fabric squares and hung it up in the sewing room. I love it. I did not have liberty fabric but some that are similar. It looks great. Love hearing from you, I hope you see ducklings next time.
Be sure and video when baby ducks show up around the dam. Thank you Kate for the chat today. I have faith that this isolation will soon be over. All this shall pass. Love to all 😘 Brenda from USA 🇺🇸
Kate, your Cardigan is absolutely Stunning! It caught my eye immediately. It reminds me of a green mountain in the spring. I love nature. I'm still sewing but not blocks. I have moved to making masks as our state is still shut down and the governor won't open up until we have at least 2 weeks of cases going down. We will get through all this. Hello everyone on the LGS! Take care all.
your cardigan is beautiful! thank you for sharing the pattern. you live in a wonderful spot in this world...thank you for sharing and showing us! Hugs and Blessings from MN/USA
Hi I am very glad you are staying at free, it is annoying to be interrupted in the middle of your videos and then have no choice but to listen to them, much rather be listening to you. Take care and lots of love from Brisbane, Australia
So good to see you Kate! Love your peaceful video. Some days are harder than others being " social distancing" it is the right thing to do is also really hard not hugging and seeing the ones we love. I keep reminding myself that is necessary for all, my heart aches. All on Kates couch appreciating one another gives me hope. Hugs to all!
I’ll happily watch videos so you receive some form of “payment” for these videos! You’re so generous with your time making this content that it seems like the least we can do to say thank you!
Hi. Kate and everyone, it does look beautiful and calm on the lake. Kate, you think the rooks are noisy. Well, the cockatoos are much worse, a huge mob of them land in the tree outside and what a cacophony! Luckily they don’t stay long. It’s lovely to see the buds on the trees. My fruit trees are starting to turn gold and drop. Doing lots of quilting and sketching. Catching up with siblings on Zoom that is wonderful. Cheers from Melbourne.
Love, love, love the little chats......good to hear what you are up to....the spinning sounds like a great idea. MyMother used to spin her own wool and weave it. She made some beautiful fabrics. So good to keep your mind free and hands busy ! Please take good care. Love ❤️ you
Yahoo!! Spinning!!! Maybe all those pretty lambs will share their wool with you to spin? Thank you for your frequent moments of calm with so much stress and anxiety about the world.
I am cuddling up on the lime green sofa wishing I could help you with the real technical issues. Unfortunately I get you and your wonderful chats on my cell phone. Did I tell you how much I appreciate everything you share with me during these dark pandemic days. Seeing your nature, your art, and now I can look forward to learning about spinning. You bless my days . Thank you Keep looking for those baby ducklings. Imagine and live in peace.
the lounge like you looks comfortable, homey and welcoming, remember it will be over when it is over and as long as we on the couch are safe and sound and carrying on all will be well
Thankyou for sharing your day, these are extremely testing times and we are having to dig very deep aren’t we? I am so grateful that like yourself I always have things to do on the go and never enough time usually for the garden but at the moment I have and that’s what’s getting me through. I am concerned about those who are more social and less inclined to be at home, how they are coping I don’t know!! Also the weather is being so kind for us too, sending lots of love from Gateshead and a big virtual cuddle, stay safe and well ❤️🌈xx
It's awesome that you both spun, and knit your sweater. It's such a pretty mesh of colors, but mostly greens! It's really beautiful. I really wholeheartedly agree that less news is better. It stresses me out, and you seem much more relaxed since you made the change, so it has to be a good one! I look forward to new spinning vids! * Virtual hugs to the LHHLGS mates *
I'm guessing that Internet activity is so high that everything may take a bit longer, or get a little mixed up. We love your chats AND your cats. It's lovely to see all your colorful hobbies. Thank you! Thank you! Lots of love from Texas.
J M G P Knight I agree about the internet when you think of all the students from kindergarten through college and files working from home that has put a load on the internet. Hugs from Oklahoma.
My dance teacher gave us a lovely flamenco 💃🏻 lesson on Zoom today and after that I had a long chat with my best friend. At a safe distance, yes. I made her and her husband some face masks 🎭 and she came to collect them. And this evening our youngest son came to collect a letter. We hadn’t seen him for some time. Such a nice day 😊
Your recent video July 11/ 20. Rain in the Garden has me in tears. I hope you get the rest you need and no matter how long that takes! We will miss you but most of all we want you to get well. Love from Fargo, ND
A while ago you ask for utube channels I liked try this one. how to build a 10 acreHomestead in a year (from scratch) I enjoyed this families journey on building their farm, the purchase of their animals, etc. I thought of you since you have a mini farm, thought you would enjoy how this young family joined together to make their home. Enjoy seeing you and a lot of things that interest you. Hope you and family are well. BJordan
If you can't work the videos in every day that's OK. We all will wait patiently for you. It is a lot of work doing a video every day I understand so we don't want to wear you out on it. Love seeing your outdoor places. Hello Rita, give my love to Norma. Have a Blessed weekend.
Nice video Kate, just so you know while I’m listening to you I can’t take my eyes off your picture wall, love the way you have your pictures displayed.Hanging pictures together is a challenge and you have done a very good job. I’m spending my time experimenting with hand quilting trying to get a uniform look. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
Thank you Kate. I saw some ducklings in my local park yesterday, so sweet! Now making scrubs and scrub bags for NHS who have sent out a call for help in my area, south east London. A busy weekend and week I guess. Best wishes to the LGS brigade💕
Another lovely comforting chat Kate, it must be so frustrating when the upload takes so long, I do hope you find the problem. Beautiful piece of film around the dam, I can’t get out yet so love to feel the outdoors with you. X
Hi Kate, I received my email about the soap however when I went to the shop as soon as I opened the email the soap had already sold out. Hopefully I will be successful next time. Enjoying your chats, we here in South Australia are still in lockdown and only going out for the essentials but we are coping okay. I have been busy quilting and catching up on my UFO's as well as trying to clear some of my clutter which always seems to accumulate. Cheers to every on the LGS made some rhubarb muffins for everyone to share.
My soap arrived today just love it think I will have to cherish it for a while put it in my yarn basket & Martha’s sketch of spring daffodils 💙💙💙 it will make a book mark so I see every time I open/ close my book What a talented family 🥰
Hello Kate and LGS friends. Love your room and sweater and a nice chat. Sorry you are having to spend so much time uploading. Hope you can solve the problem. Did some watercolor today for a change. A lovely day as well for our walk. In the 50’sF. No leaves on trees yet. Take care everyone
Maybe ask No Egg Craig about your i-movie problems? big fat fresh artichoke for supper for me. I've been having fun on short foraging drives finding roadside honor system stands. So far, artichokes, eggs, micro greens, avocados and citrus. It gets me out of he house and enjoying our green green countryside while it lasts. soon the hills will be California Summer Gold. I can't wait to see more spinning, Kate. I need to go back and watch your episode on spinning. Gorgeous colors!
KATE, so excited--the 5 bars of soap arrived! Yeah. Well packaged, no holes from it's travels from you to Northern Utah, USA. Will make nice gifts. Thanks for daily videos and I know how time consuming that is. We are going to be in this "new state" for the rest of our lives, and I'm fine if you want/need to back off from daily posts. Perhaps taper off if you like to every other day, but give yourself a break. I'm sure those on the LGS might agree to give you some time to catch your breath. You have a lot more outdoors work ahead of you so think about it. Wishing you the best! Love and hugs, MY.
great! they took a long time! but I think the post has slowed right down just now - this is why I am trying for more virtual things in the shop - bypass the post office altogether! xxx
Love the lake videos. Would love to see your house room to room. he green cabinet in your kitchen is beautiful. I love looking at old houses and seeing what it was like in the past. The LGS is so comfey today, I may not get off. But like you I have things to do. Take care everyone.
Loving seeing different parts of your lovely house lately! Here in Nova Scotia we heard peepers a few days ago - a true sign of spring. But are getting about 10 come snow tonight!!!
Lovely lovely video again Kate ty. I think everyone is begining to feel the pinch now. It goes against all we know doesn't it. Still, lots to do to keep occupied. That cardi is grand! I'm making dandelion salves just now. We too are running short on fresh things. Last night I made a rather nice stir up of bits and bobs of veg left over and mixed in a tin of Plant based soup I bought from Tesco months ago now; Tomato chickpea and aubergine . Threw in some spices and it was very yummy! It's quite fun to dream up new dishes to make. We're so used to being able to have what we want anytime, I think this might just give us a wee kick up the bum to be grateful and maybe a bit more mindful in future. There's all sorts out there on the land and in hedgerows available to eat if we just look and see for ourselves and veg plots to cultivate as we have plenty of time on our hands. (that's if we have a garden though, some don't and that must be dreadful) My Gran brought me up and she was a very inventive cook indeed lol. Cabbage and Nettle soups were a fave on the table. Ty again for taking time out of your day to have a nighttime chat. What a comforting way to end the day. Stay safe and well everyone.xx
Your kitty trying to get into the action just made me laugh! Thank goodness for our fur and feathered babies right now because they keep me going no matter what! As for crafting, I have gotten many projects started or done but the housework has suffered miserably, lol!
Where are you sitting? Can you give us a tour of your 'lounge'? That looks like where you might be.... I would also love to see the quilt you're leaning on and the crocheted afghan behind you! The older I get, the more I appreciate work done by loving people's hands. Looks like that is valuable to you, too. Love.
I just rewatched this with a lump in the throat. In New Zealand we are at the beginning of opening up the country to travel with fewer restrictions. I won't be going far from home these Summer holidays.
I'm hand sewing 1 inch hexagon's for a bag that I'm making for my daughter. Thank you for posting this video. I love the pace of your story telling and enjoy watching.
I'm hand piecing one inch hexagons also, with a small Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt as the goal. I would like to make it with the lozenges but can't find the one Kate posted or any others on the internet.
Hello Kate, I have been watching you for a few days now. I found you through my friend Betty. Betty says that you and I are the dame when it comes to doing things. I don't sleep well so I have you as my company at two or three in the morning. Thank you for being there.
Hello Kate and friends.... thanks once again for a bit of calm. I think I will try and follow your avoidance of watching the news. I do believe that it will make things a bit easier. Take care, be happy.
Hello beautiful Lady by the water, I truly enjoy your videos, my dog Harley loves your cubby cute cats. I love all your story’s. This is Kathyleen from Kalamazoo, mi USA.
Thanks for the lake view even tho no ducklings. Seen. I have several robins nests with eggs and a cardinal with 3 eggs so am watching for them to hatch. Stay safe also. Would love to sesame spinning. ,
Evening Kate, the headaches of technology, Thank you for the pattern link, love watching your walks, 1/2 way through a small jigsaw, I do a few pieces every so often so I am not sat sewing or crafting without moving for hours, It is working well and my back says thanks Kate for making me get the jigsaws out again, :) Have a beautiful weekend, x x x
Yes your cardigan does remind me of a beautiful flower garden or field of wild flowers. Like a Monet. I want to thank you again for making these little 'Taking Care' videos. Somehow they bring a sense of peace and purpose with them each day. I look forward to them very much. And possibly I should have weighed in yesterday on the advertising issue but I'll add my comment now anyway. Please don't do it. There's a Canadian blogger whom I like a lot but since she decided to allow ads her blogs are nearly unreadable for all the junk. It's just not your style. 💗
Thank you so much Kate for the video. It looks so peaceful at the last homely house. My daughter order two 2 books about Norma on March 23rd. We are waiting anxiously for them to arrive! Thank you so much
My mother used to say "always make your bed no matter what time you actually get up because it will look like you've been up since 5am" just thought to share that with you Kate everyone on the lime green sofa stay safe stay well 🤗🙋♀️💜🌏
Your sweater is beautiful. You are so talented. Liked seeing the ducks on the water . the beautiful flowers. You bring joy to so many with all you show us an tell us.
I like your sweater, reminds me of a Monet painting. Kate, I have had to cut way down on news reports, too, for my own sanity. It isn’t healthy to be sad all the time. I’m always happy when I see a post from you. Thank you for all these free therapy sessions! LOL seriously! I am doing lots of catching up on UFO’s, and I might be starting a trip around the world quilt after admiring yours for the last few months. Have a great weekend, stay healthy and stay happy sweet lady. Tell all the girls at your house hello and hugs from the Pacific Northwest corner of the lime green sofa. Xxx

Yes. That's it exactly! It seemed very familiar to me, and now I know why. You take care as well!
That's what I thought!
I was thinking the same thing - Monet!
AnjaM17 Yesss! I couldn’t come up with the Monet painting, but now that you mentioned the title, that’s exactly what it is!!
I love hearing you say, “Get into your hands.” My grandmother used to say, “At the end of every day, have something to look back at to show you did something.” I’m using this time to catch up on projects. Stay safe and I look forward to hearing from you each day.

I just love Monet's paintings, especially the water lilies!

Love your sweater too. It’s very Monet! 💚❤️💛
your cardigan is beautiful! thank you for sharing the pattern. you live in a wonderful spot in this world...thank you for sharing and showing us! Hugs and Blessings from MN/USA
Hi
I am very glad you are staying at free, it is annoying to be interrupted in the middle of your videos and then have no choice but to listen to them, much rather be listening to you. Take care and lots of love from Brisbane, Australia
Take care Kate and all on the LGS....thank you. Love n hugs Dottie 😘
Spinning has helped me get through some of the more difficult times mentally. I find it very calming. Love your podcasts. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Hi Kate! Your cardigan is beautiful!! Love the colors. Hi to everyone on the LGS. Stay safe and well.
Cheers from Melbourne.
other people's lives sound so interesting! I'd swap my rooks for your cockatoos! ha ha! sending love to you as you head into autumn xxx
Thank you
Keep looking for those baby ducklings. Imagine and live in peace.
the lounge like you looks comfortable, homey and welcoming, remember it will be over when it is over and as long as we on the couch are safe and sound and carrying on all will be well
Thank you. It’s so nice to know your there. 😘xxx
love your cardigan and the yarn you spun
I so adore these videos.
* Virtual hugs to the LHHLGS mates *
xxxxx
I'm guessing that Internet activity is so high that everything may take a bit longer, or get a little mixed up. We love your chats AND your cats. It's lovely to see all your colorful hobbies. Thank you! Thank you! Lots of love from Texas.
J M G P Knight I agree about the internet when you think of all the students from kindergarten through college and files working from home that has put a load on the internet. Hugs from Oklahoma.
Some shenangans are burning the senders down because of the hoaxes around 5G. All around Europe. So no signal
Oh thank you for not having ads. It feels more like a chat this way.
this is exactly how I feel! xxx
Your sweater reminds me of a Monet painting..very impressionist. Lovely.
That is EXACTLY what I thought, Crystal! Beautiful colors.....
I like the sweater and couldn't help noticing the granny square blanket in the background.
Such a nice day 😊
small things make us happy! sounds like you had a great day xxx
BJordan
Love you Ms. Kate! Stay safe and know that you are helping so many!
Many blessings your way, stay safe stay healthy, there is light at the end of this tunnel..
Hello, peace and health to all. Thank you for taking us on a walk Kate. I don't knit but thank you for sharing the pattern.
thank you for sweater talk!! it is beautiful and, yes, it's a monet's lily pond!!!
So lovely to see you Kate and hi to all on the Sofa. Take care everyone xxxxx
My soap arrived today just love it think I will have to cherish it for a while put it in my yarn basket & Martha’s sketch of spring daffodils 💙💙💙 it will make a book mark so I see every time I open/ close my book
What a talented family 🥰
Love and hugs, MY.
great! they took a long time! but I think the post has slowed right down just now - this is why I am trying for more virtual things in the shop - bypass the post office altogether! xxx
Thank you, Kate. Great to see you. Have a good evening. I love the cardigan going to check into that for sure..😘
Seedlings up under my cold frame here in the Annapolis Valley and we are spared the snow. Hope it is soon gone for you!
I'm now living in a small apartment and I do miss my garden dreadfully! I have a few indoor plants but its not the same.
We are going to look back on this moment in time, and hopefully we all realize just how precious life really is. Kate, your are the best!
Kate I love your cardigan and I hope your computer problems work out quickly. Hi Lime Green Sofa friends. Be healthy.
Thanks Kate for another chat.
It was nice to visit with you again. My seat on the sofa is very comfortable.
Happy you found her despite my misspelling etc. 🙂
You take care , too! This time is hard for us all. You sharing your home gives us all something to look forward too
Thanks for the lake view even tho no ducklings. Seen. I have several robins nests with eggs and a cardinal with 3 eggs so am watching for them to hatch. Stay safe also. Would love to sesame spinning. ,
I really really like looking forward to your posts. I feel like I am part of your life. Thanks I really need this.😻
Great chat Kate , thank you for being you xox
So many thanks to you for sharing with us. Hang in there!
Evening Kate, the headaches of technology, Thank you for the pattern link, love watching your walks, 1/2 way through a small jigsaw, I do a few pieces every so often so I am not sat sewing or crafting without moving for hours, It is working well and my back says thanks Kate for making me get the jigsaws out again, :) Have a beautiful weekend, x x x
www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/-9725-neck-down-cardigan-for-women this is the up to date link Chris xxx
Thank you so much
Thank you Kate. We will get through this.
Hello friends, using my hands to stay focused on good things. Sooooo glad we can visit and share. Thank you Kate!
Lovely to catch up with you Kate. Enjoy your spinning. Lesley @DuckpoolLane
Xxx
Hello Kate and everyone on the lgs.
I'am 50 days in house, and its getting hard for me 😔
I keep buzzy and reed a lott, so i don't think to much.
But we get through this!!
Thank you for your video Kate and uplifting words.
Stay save all, take care.
