Kate I made this adding my own touches based on ingredients on hand. My husband was a total skeptic. It smelled wonderful as it baked, and was so tasty. Cannot wait to taste it tommorrow as most everything tastes better the next day.
It’s my 33rd Wedding Anniversary today. Hubby and I can’t be together as we are taking care of our dads in different parts of London. But at least I have a you for company this evening after a long busy day. A treat for me. Thank you as always Kate. Your hair looks great btw 🌺
it would have been my 33rd on 15th ha ha!! have a happy time when you get together again - because the date no longer matters - its the love that matters - and if you have that - you have everything xxxx
Ok.... so I made the nut roast! Yum! Made mine with pecans, walnuts and cashews. I didn't have celery so I used fresh mushrooms. Also used Gouda cheese, and flax meal in lieu of oats. I have a gluten allergy so I couldn't use that I ingredient. Anyway... it is delish!!! Baked for about 35 minutes on 350. It baked up so pretty and I love the texture. Thanks again for sharing.
ahh! i forgot to say how long to cook it and how hot - but you guessed perfectly! and mushrooms is an excellent addition! GREAT! so glad you tried it! xxx
Beautiful sunset! Loved seeing Eileen & Norma. We need a hen update when you have a chance. Just a fast story. This summer I have my Grandsons, ages 13 & twin 11 year olds, sewing colorful pillowcases to give to a Children’s hospital here in Texas. They thought I made the pincushion we are using and I told them “no, my RUclips friend Kate, from England, made it”. They are fascinated that I have a friend in the UK. I’m going to show them Eileen swimming when they come over today. They have never seen a goose but will get a kick out of her.
So easy to dump things on flat surfaces and then takes forever to clear it up. Never ending in my house. Nut loaf? Interesting. I like that it is a wing it recipe. I liked seeing Eileen. We have geese around our river by our house. Last weekend there were five sets of adults and many babies across the river in the open field. They have moved on. When we walk our property, I have to watch our dog, Abbey that she doesn't eat the goose candy (poop). Why she feels the need to eat it. Yuck! Loved the sunset. Have a blessed week!
I wish I could clean that fast to Kate! The nut roast sounds amazing. I am not vegan or vegetarian but I am not to fond of meat. I would make this for sure. Eileen is beautiful and I really enjoyed your lake and sunset..so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your day and enjoy your pottery class.
Life in romance made me cry. So beautiful. I live in a concrete jungle and I love your vlogs especially when you go outside. I also love your pretty goose waddling down to take a swim. You have your own little piece of heaven here on earth. Thank you for sharing it with us. ❤️
thank you for saying this - I am so pleased you had that reaction -(not the crying obviously - unless it was happy tears ) But I have lived a life full of work, hurry and bustle, other peoples demands .... I have reached a time in my life when I want to slow it all right down - and if I can share that with you - who is still in that world - well - that makes me very happy indeed. thank you xxx
You are so kind to reply! I cried because sometimes beautiful things make me cry. Isn’t that silly? 😀 you are a treasure and I enjoy your vlogs so much. Sending ❤️ your way.
Such an idyllic place there. Beautiful sunset and I so enjoy watching Eileen on the lake. So peaceful. I'd like to try the but roast. Got quite a bit of fruits and veggies yesterday at the Native American Center here in town. During the summer they give away free fruits and vegetables to anyone in our county. It certainly helps folks. Hope you have a great day at pottery. I've begun a new crochet project for one of my grandchildren.
What an inspiring video and a beautiful sunset! Lovely seeing your goose swimming on the lake with her reflexion on the water in the evening light. Thank you for sharing that! I’m definetly a fan of your videos. 😊
Having this beautiful video to watch makes being up at 2am a blessing. I am beyond excited you are getting so close to 10,000 subscribers. Congratulations. Thank you
the reason it was 2 am for you guys - I tried to post it before I went to bed on the day I filmed it - but it was getting close to midnight - so I went to bed to let it carry on loading - when I got up next morning - there it was all ready to press 'publish' so i did - not my usual schedule - but then -has anyone ever figured out my ' schedule'??? ha ha ha!!! xxx
What a lovely video this was Kate. I have never heard of a nut roast before, that looked quite good. I really enjoyed the ending with Eileen getting a swim on the pond and the beautiful sunset reflecting on the water along with the peaceful music. You do a great job putting your videos together. Thank you for sharing your day, a very busy one, and I hope you have a Blessed day today.
I am on the same wave length....bless your heart Kate. Loved the whole video. That ending was so perfect after a long day. Thank you to Norma and our sweet Kate.
What a beautiful life you live! Thank you for sharing and inspiring us to live more simply, graciously and beautifully. God bless you, my dear Aunt Kate. Take care.
I adore your cooking videos, you have such a calming & lighthearted approach. I am going to make the Nut Roast for dinner. I may even leave the nuts a bit bigger, maybe just one spin around the prosessor☺
Hi Kate, loved watching you cooking. I was cutting my first batch of soap whilst watching. It was your soap video that started me. I’ve had such fun. I used a wooden champagne box and some almond milk cartons, the latter didn’t need lining. Thank you for all your ideas.
I’ve even started making journals! One for my soap recipes and one for a daughter for cooking recipes. I made loads of pockets for index cards. I’m having so much fun.
Hi Kate. Your “Just a normal day” looks like a wonderful day and your supper looks absolutely delicious. Thank you for sharing this video. I thoroughly enjoyed watching. 🐝💕
Thanks for supper! yours looks so yummy, I know I will enjoy mine... a few ingredient substitutions according to availability of course... steamed spinach with garlic on the side...
I just watched your video as I cooked my lunch (sauteed bok choy, chard, onion, and garlic mixed into the last of some spicy bean soup), and it was perfect company. The nut loaf has me intrigued! After all my years eating at vegetarian restaurants in NYC, I'm mystified that I've never had it. Must remedy that! Thanks, Kate, and enjoy the solstice! xoxo
I loved the kitty popping its head out of the basket! I like to see how you are so concerned where “we” are. It’s as if you are taking the whole group of us out for a ride. Your green cabinet is inspiring. And every time I went to a party, thankfully I didn’t get my hair cut as due to the kind of party, my hair would have been a mess. I’ll have to try your nut roast. It sounds wonderful.
Your meal looked so scrumptious! Such a bucolic setting! Did you ever in a million years think that people would love watching you doing your daily routine and peaking in on the animals and the countryside? SO relaxing to watch! TFS the inspiration!
never in a million billion years would I have imagined that turning the camera on while I cook my supper would bring me so many really beautiful people - the comments section here is mind blowing! I am so lucky to have you all! xxx
Yes put me on top of the toaster! You are so calming and interesting and funny at the same time. So happy I found your channel. Cant wait to see what you do with the free spirit jelly rolls.
Love watching the bees. 🧡 I cant get out to see nature much anymore and I miss my garden so much. You are a gift. Thanks. Stacy from southern New Jersey, USA.
So peaceful watching Eileen glide across the lake. Your supper looked delicious, I'm going to make the nut roast looked very yummy. Keep on inspiring us with your life. I miss seeing Norma.
Greetings from Wyoming in the USA. I'm here via Gayna of Tales from Cuckoo Land. Your podcast is absolutely lovely and I am so pleased to have found you. Never heard of a Nut Roast but you can bet I'll make one.
I’m recovering from knee replacement surgery, and your company is soothing and hopeful. Thank you. I love staying busy and having to slow down is not fun. You have inspired me to get back to my quilting; it distracts me and helps time pass. Loved the duck. I appreciate you. María Lucía ☺️
Your nut roast looked yummy. Great watching you cook and tidy and just love watching Eileen have her swim and such a lovely end of the day! Thank you! X

That is one happy goose on a midsummer's evening! I have been trying to work in more vegetarian type options once a week. This looks easy, cheap and delicious! Now I've got to have a good tidy up before I go on vacation. Thank you so much!!
Hi, I started watching your program 2 months ago, I loved it so much that I watch it every day. I am a quilter, and I am learning with more ways to quilt with you. My name is Sandra B. I live in Marina California. Your Program is amazing.

Good morning Kate, My kitchen table hasn't been flat in months. Bees' are fantastic - Thank you so much for you being you. Enjoyed the visit. Much Love, Sherry
Just what I needed -- A tidy up and a cooking demo by Kate! Loved the look of the Sunset on Eileen's feathers....very artistic. Thanks for sharing the time with us as it sounds as though Life has been Interesting of late. Top marks for listing the music credits as you had to have known there would be enquiring minds. Thank you for taking us along as you prepared your supper. 💙 I noticed the other day that we just had a strawberry full moon, and realized that we haven't had a full moon "talk" from you in quite awhile. Please know that i think of you each full moon especially. 😉
yes - its been a funny old month - there are some things I need to do without turning the camera on! ha ha!! But I was up at 5 am this morning and I have a sunrise to show you soon! xxx
Wonderful video as always! Seeing the lake at sunset is just Beautiful. I've never heard of Nut Roast but it sounds delicious. Now I'm hungry, time to eat lunch.
Wow, firstly I have to say Eileen and your sunset wow, wow, wow I just love the ending. Perfectly done, I could feel myself actually there taking it all in. Enjoyed watching your making of a nut roast, I’ve never heard of it before. I do a lot of roasted vegetables so I’ll have to add nut and a bread binding and give it a try. Thanking for sharing Kate, love your videos 👍❤️😊
Hi, Kate, I enjoyed your company as per usual, looking forward to seeing those jelly rolls and what you make with them, I wish you a happy day, Mandy x

It's so lovely fantastic will be viewing all past podcast someone of similar age group doing this I admire you. Thank you for sharing snippets of your life and giving up the time to do this. So happy to have watched this.👍👍👍👍🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🎉🎉🎉🎉
I am glad to see that you are a Pilot too~ Pilot here and there and everywhere! In my sewing room is my worst place to do that. I need to do a sort out myself. Love to watch you as you go about your days and love your chats.
One dag I stumbeld on something called The last homely house East of the sea. And I feel at home. Thank you for your inspiring vids. Love your poststamp curtains. And the nut toast, jum.
Hi Kate! Would like to try that nut roast, it looked delicious. You seem to enjoy everything you do, even the mundane. That's what I love about you. Never imagined I would enjoy watching someone cleaning out drawers! Have a lovely week Kate. Hugs from Kansas
Nooooo, do not put us on top of the toasted! Ja, ja ja ! Thank you kate for your wonderfull videos and received a big hug and blessings. Hello from Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico . Rebeca Shelley
What an absolutely charming video. Love watching everything you do. Will have to try that nut roast, it looks yummy. Good luck with the new swarm also. A beautiful peaceful ending and I love seeing Eileen taking her swim. I have missed her❤️
Great video Kate! I will definitely be making a nut roast. Thank you for sharing. Mine will for sure have Garlic . LOL. If it isn't sweet, you can count on me adding garlic. Good to see Eileen. Blessings
How I wish tidying up was so speedy 😂 I don't think I have seen your kitchen from that first angle before, your cupboards look very interesting and unique. I have never had nut roast before, it looks very tasty. That sunset looked gorgeous, today is Winter Solstice here in New Zealand, a very lovely time, we are looking forward to visiting Vienna's previous school for their lantern festival next week, it is something very special. Xx
happy winter solstice to you - the lantern festival sounds lovely. the shelves were made by John - my lovely son John, he knows me well - no symmetry - a little bit odd ... I arrived home from 'work' one day and they were just there - I love them! xxx
Your supper looks yummy! I going to try it. Good home cooking. Blessings to you from East TN USA. Ps. My mom loves watching you as well. She's from The Florida Panhandle, USA.
I was eating my tea while watching this - I can see you are a big potato fan like myself - loved your cookery programme :) oh yes, I had a kitchen cupboard like your green one many moons ago; not quite as fancy with a metal drop down work surface - very handy in a small kitchen :)
hmm - you saw that - I made rather too many potatoes - it seems a shame to waste any? ha ha!!! xxx I ADORE my green cupboard! an eBay purchase some years ago! xxx
That was a busy day. I wish I could get myself motivated to tidy my home but there always seems to be something more interesting to do and it seems to just get messy again! I must give that nut roast a try. My father lifted his first potatoes of the year yesterday and I cooked them today and served them with a little butter, they were delicious. He’s 90 this year and often asks the question, I wonder how many potato seasons I still have left in me. Lots I hope! Thanks as always for sharing your life at the last homely house. I’m looking forward to seeing your latest quilt 😁
Glad you posted a video again, thanks for sharing. Lovely way to close my week With you 😉 i hope you have lots off🌞shine, to enjoy it. Greatings from the Netherlands ❤
Dear Kate, your nut roast and supper in total really looked delicious and I may try a nut roast as well some time (never tried it before), but I like all the ingredients so why not giving it a try. I wish I would be so motivated and fast 😂 in tidying up 😉 xoxo from Germany, enjoy your weekend and thanks for sharing your day with me today, Stephanie
What a lovely life you have made for yourself. I am so happy to have found your channel. Thank you for bringing a little normalcy and quiet to my life for a few minutes every day. Hello from Gold Canyon AZ, USA 👍❣️
Thanks for that Kate I forget about a nut roast! Will make one this weekend and add some nutritional yeast and skip the cheese. I have eaten a plant based diet since January 2018 so make sure I get my B12. The nutritional yeast is very tasty. Eileen still looks like she owns the place! XXX
Never heard of nut roast, but now that I have: I am going to have to try it! I'm from Texas and this was totally new to me. LOL! Really enjoyed and thanks!

I was careful not to switch you on! xxx
That was a special visit. Thank you. Eileen is gorgeous, tranquil, and a sight for sore eyes. She seems very content with her present moment.
What an absolutely charming video. Love watching everything you do. Will have to try that nut roast, it looks yummy. Good luck with the new swarm also. A beautiful peaceful ending and I love seeing Eileen taking her swim. I have missed her❤️
I love how casual you are whether sewing or cooking. Not pretentious at all. Very relatable . I look forward to each new day
Great video Kate! I will definitely be making a nut roast. Thank you for sharing. Mine will for sure have Garlic . LOL. If it isn't sweet, you can count on me adding garlic. Good to see Eileen. Blessings
mine would have too - but it had sprouted - need more garlic! xxx
I arrived home from 'work' one day and they were just there - I love them! xxx
I wish i could move that fast also. I have never heard of Nut Bake. Sounds interesting. Your sun sets are marvelous!
I love that you are so authentic ...no frills or manipulative perfection lol! I hope you stay that way!!!
Oh, that meal looked good!! Really nice to see Eileen, too!
Your supper looks yummy! I going to try it. Good home cooking. Blessings to you from East TN USA. Ps. My mom loves watching you as well. She's from The Florida Panhandle, USA.
I was eating my tea while watching this - I can see you are a big potato fan like myself - loved your cookery programme :)
oh yes, I had a kitchen cupboard like your green one many moons ago; not quite as fancy with a metal drop down work surface - very handy in a small kitchen :)
hmm - you saw that - I made rather too many potatoes - it seems a shame to waste any? ha ha!!! xxx I ADORE my green cupboard! an eBay purchase some years ago! xxx
Very enjoyable Kate, thank you. Such a beautiful part of the UK. Avril xx 💐💕🦋🐝
I’m looking forward to seeing your latest quilt 😁
there is nothing to beat the taste of potatoes and butter - just out of the ground like that - I hope your Dad has many more potato seasons too! xxxx
Came here from cuckoob's channel. I live in a little tiny village near Alnwick but i have family in Humshaugh. Enjoyed this very much 😍

Yummy, I’ve never made one but I am going to have a go, thank you Kate!

Thank you so much for sharing your day. It was lovely!! ❤
Oh, you're an inspiration!!! Happy Solstice to you :)
XXX
