Funny, I grew up 15 minutes from Road Atlanta and drove past it hundreds of times as a teenager/young adult, and wasn't into racing. Now I don't live any damn near a race track at all and I'm heavily into racing and sim racing.

Great race DC... nice recovery drive. And I agree with a few others that that may have been a bit you more than him, but eh, it was just a racing incident. Nice of him to take full blame even though he hadn't seen it either. Great respect from that guy!
The other pits, if I'm not mistaken are for when the bikes run there. They use turn 12A (where it goes "straight-on" down the hill), and they also use the slightly alternate (slower) chicane at T2-T4.

I never give up unless I have so much damage that the repair time is longer than the remaining race time.

Great racing as usual Dave 👍🏻. One thing I noticed is that, you are using 100% braking a lot of times but its not triggering the ABS for you, its not overheating your tires, and you are doing very competitive lap times (low 17s is very competitive) with slightly jerky braking technique. I am amazed how you are doing that.

Looked fairly clean other than that bump lap4! Looking back at my results this season, fixed series really brought my SR down. Seems most hop in without practice and cause madness. Next seasons I will do the open setups only and see the difference.
Great vid, always interested in the shift horizon setting. Ferrari at zero feels fine however Merc seems to low? Is that just the design of each individual car?

turn 4 is rough to go 2 wide through. the outside line apexs a little further into the corner, right about where the inside line starts coming out of the corner. its such a hard corner to "get right" with 2 cars and it seems every race has at least 1 of those incidents. you could have given a tiny bit more space, been a little more conservative going into the corner, but he could have given a tiny bit more space on the inside. it comes down to hard, competitive racing, and in that specific situation, while it sucks, it didnt end either of your races so its something to learn from and come back from. Great drive to finish p8!

Support Series use the pits on the left side of the frontstetch. Used for track days also, not for main series like IMSA or IMPC

To be fair, you had a bit more space on your inside at T1 Dave, and some kerb too. Shit happens. You're strong mentally, the recovery is proof.

I know it's a late comment but how come in these GT races you never seem to see the 488 Evo? Plenty of BMWs and Mercs with the odd lambo and Porsche thrown in but never a 488 Evo. Is there a reason for that?

Need some advice. Yesterday I gridded for the Watkins Glen gt3 race I was waiting for to pull off for the first lap and suddenly iracing backed me off the track and said I missed the race??? I hadn't. I gridded up in time and the race hadn't even started. Even after it said I missed the race the other drivers still didn't go out for the warm up lap for about 10 seconds. Any ideas? Or have you ever been kicked from the grid like stating you left the race. I lost loads of IR for it too
iRacing went down yesterday morning. That was possibly it 👍

Your graphics are incredible... I've got a Rtx 3090ti and i7 10700f with 32g of ram. I get about average of 90fps with triple 27" 1440p but not at your eye candy settings. What am I doing wrong?

Greetings Dave, I drive this track since I started Iracing and it's impossible to finish the race without accidents, I think many careless drivers should look at your driving to see an example of school racing and it's a real thick one, there are a lot of careless drivers and even rude ones I think that the sim racing community could do a lot with some kind of education, you are already doing a lot on that issue, I don't think it is a solution to report to iracing that people are getting warnings or bans, no way, I would like you to make a clip about it sometime, maybe someone from iracing and see please do something about it, thanks for the extra drive, long live.

you did zero wrong - the best thing is the attitude, too many times in sim racing it’s gets toxic and people start abusing each other down the comms - you two are a shining beacon of how it should be done 💪🏻 rubbins racing

i did the first race of the week here at midnight... only 7pm US time - prime time...for noobs! On Lap 2 Some car spun at T6 and the car ahead of me literally barreled right into him - not even ATTEMPTING to slow down... and as I tried to go AROUND this mess the guy who recklessly drove into a stationary vehicle KEPT his foot down and speared me! Ruined my entire race. Do you know how hard it is to make good time after "Your wheels have been knocked out of alignment!" AND you've become lapped after waiting in the pits for 88 seconds??? And the whole time some one is like "LOL My accelerator doesnt work properly! Can I fix it without exiting the race??" Like what time do I have to run a race to avoid these kind of drivers??? How early/late does Dave Cam go racing to find the best possible entry list????
As sucky as the incident was, it shows how vastly different in driving quality iRacing is from ACC. The driver immediately felt remorse and knew he was wrong. If this was ACC Dave would've gotten punted and the driver would use DC's car to slingshot around the corner.

What I do is just use them for colour temperature and to bring the wheel and hands to match the colour temp of the race and works really well.
Yes I've thought about it, but my wallet can't cope with that right now 😂
@@davecamm you don't really need philips hue when your only using for colour temperature and trying to just blend the colour temp with the colour temp on track. Any smart bulb you can control with a phone app will work. I tried using Philips to match the shadows on screen as boosted media had done and I find you stop doing that and just use it to blend the cockpit hands and wheel with the in game car. That seems to be where this lighting shines for me.
