Dr. Geoffrey Sher is joining me again, and this time we are going to talk about implantation failure. Dr. Sher is co-founder of Sher Fertility Solutions (SFS) and an internationally renowned expert in the field of assisted reproductive technology, and influential in the births of more than 17,000 IVF babies. Over the last 30 years, he has helped fashion the entire field of ART after training under the fathers of IVF, Dr. Patrick Steptoe and Robert Edwards. He established the first private IVF program in the United States in 1982, then later expanded his practice to include several centers throughout California before founding the first Sher Fertility Solutions in Las Vegas. He’s also the author of several books, In Vitro Fertilization: The ART of Making Babies, which is now in its third edition.
In this episode, we're talking about implantation failure. Dr. Sher is discussing the role of the endometrium, the difference between implantation and miscarriage, and the three factors he considers when advising on treatment for implantation failure. The three things that he discusses are: lining thickness, texture and immune factors.

I wish PGTA testing was semi covered by insurances. My insurance covers up to 6 egg retrivals in a lifetime but no genetic testing coverage. If they did that tho I do beleive their wouldn’t be more successful IVF cycles but a good majority can not shell out 4-10k extra after everything else and have to take the gamble having a unviable embryo :( of course I’ve know women as well who had perfectly healthy embryos but pregnancy still didn’t take. Finally in her 3rd IVF it did. So so happy for her

Many peoples insurance in the US, like my own, dont cover a dime of IVF or any fertility treatment. I paid out of pocket for 3 IUIs, blood work related to fertility, all fertility medicines, and now for a IVF stuff.

@@iseaglewings4031 it actually only was $150 for us per embryo. We only had one embryo feritlize and make it to day 6 have one that made it but she ended up being Euploud 3bb ❤ we have our transfer 9/26/24! I guess if we wanted to do the more advanced options; it would be extra. One coworker friend did it and she mentioned couple grand. I had my embryo transfer 2 weeks ago in Cebu Philippines and when I had my beta HCG it turned out negative. I cried a lot because i put too much effort, time. I'm not that rich to have it again. Iwant to do it again but Im financially drained out. So depressed, I cried all night, I could not sleep. I dont want to eat. I am compliance with my medication, im careful with my diet but my embryo transfer was not successful.

Just like the doctor said, humans don't give life. God does. He don't need the perfect situation to make a miracle. Bringing life unto the world is a miracle.
I'm trusting God for a successful transfer in a few months. My hope is in the lord. I've done what I can do on my part. I wish you all the best. Just like my doctor said, if it's a baby you want and you are persistent, you will have a baby don't give up. There's options out there like embryo donations. Be bless!

I just had my second failed implantation. I am cursed with having both endometriosis and a small fibroid inside my uterus that can't be removed. I guess I ha e my answers. I am using donor eggs of a 24 year old. The embryos always look amazing. But I keep getting flat out negatives. I am devastated. My heart is so broken. Getting that news on Friday, Mother's Day weekend, if I wasn't strong, I wouldn't be here today. I am 39 with an extensive Endometriosis issue. I've had multiple surgeries.

But we dived to do another retrieval because I just turned 40. I was 38 when I did the first retrieval. How could we loose normal PGA tested embryos?

This was a really interesting interview but just to let people know, the ebook Dr Sher mentions is free to download actually isn’t - when you look for it on his website it states that once you book a consultation with one of the doctors they will send you the ebook after the consultation. I appreciate all of Dr Sher’s insight however it is misleading to say the ebook is free to download when it isn’t.

    Hi, doc,
I have been on a long infertility journey for almost 11 years with 3 failed IVFs, which my fertility experts narrowed down to poor-quality eggs as none of the eggs matured after pickup. I had OHSS with all three, I went in for the 4th cycle and they picked up 23eggs at 40hours and with months of DHEA 50mg for 4 months( the only solution they came up with) and I have now one 1 embryo which is now frozen(they didn't tell me the quality and being scared I never asked. Currently, I am dealing with OHSS again. What would you suggest before embryo transfer? Should I take something? And is transfer fine after 3 menstrual cycles? Please help...My recent AMH was 1.3

    • @giftofthewild6665

DHEA is for low ovarian reserve. With your numbers it seems you don't have that issue (low reserve women typically don't get OHSS either since there are so few follicles).
For low quality without quantity issues you should focus on acai, co enzyme q10, good prenatal vitamin, folate and healthy diet & lifestyle (organic food and remove plastic & Teflon products from your kitchen)
