- After a couple of months off the road, I returned to Texas to scoop my 4Runner, Blue, and continue the journey westward. I stayed at a fantastic unique airbnb in Canyon, hoping to hike at the nearby Palo Dura Canyon State Park. While my journey didn’t quite go as planned, I was able to pivot and ended up in Santa Fe early for a beautiful hike in the mountains. Check back next week for more of my Santa Fe adventure. Oh Jen I’m so very sorry about Winnie. There really are no appropriate words to adequately express how overwhelming the loss of a pet (truly member of the family) can be. Every one of your followers were also followers of Winnie as well. She was always settling in to whatever room you were recording in whether it was drinking or nesting in her bed. She truly was the sweetest and will definitely be missed! 💖

Winnie was a very lucky and much loved little girl. It’s one of the hardest parts of being a pet owner. I can so empathize with you as I’m sure many of your viewers can too.
I lost my two elder dogs this year as well. Your words about leaning into beauty in the hard resonated. Praying you will be comforted during the hard parts on the journey. I'm so sorry for your loss. She had a wonderful life with you and your family. I recently lost my cat who was 19 years old. She was the sweetest kitty and I look for her still every day.
Losing a beloved pet is absolutely heartbreaking. I have never known such pain as when we lost our ShihTzu, Trixie, a few years ago. She looked like Winnie. I was unconsolable for eight months. It leaves an empty feeling in the house, so it was finally time to find our new little ShihTzu, Ruby. I don't know if you plan on getting another, but for me, it helped fill that empty feeling in my heart and home and brought my joy back.
Jen, I’ve enjoyed all the years I’ve watched you and Winnie. I’m so sorry for your huge loss. She was such an angel. This was a neat video to see, so relaxing and looks like you enjoyed all of it.

Oh Jen I’m so sorry for your loss. While I don’t know you it was very apparent that you loved her and cared for her so much. Our pets really do become our family. She may longer be with you but she will always be in your heart. Cherish the memories you had with her.

I rode El Capitan from Barstow, CA to Chicago connecting to the Erie Lakawana for Lima, Ohio. It was in 1965, and I was going to visit family before going off to university. I spent most of my 3 days in the dome car. It was fun.

I loved your sentiment of finding the everyday beauty around you. And faking a moment to appreciate. Winnie was so incredibly lucky to have you as her puppy mom! I've been following since 2011, when Winnie was your only baby. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing, but I know she was so fully loved during her whole life. I've walked this path before and I know the gentle pain of losing an older pet ❤

I started watching you because we were get a shin-tzu puppy and you were showing Winnie showing how to bath her drying her ! She just captured my heart. Oh Jennifer, I am so sorry to hear of Winnie’s passing. I started watching your videos to educate myself on grooming etc my little Shit zhu Tinkerbelle (she passed away at 14. Over the years I have so enjoyed your videos. What a wonderful life Winnie had and I can only imagine the love she provided your family. It is true, grief will take time but I just wanted to express my condolences to you and your children.
Jen...one of your BEST kind of videos.....I am not a Disney gal (wait till the true story comes out about Disney!!) but I LOVE your Airbnb reviews and tours.....you do SUCH a great job showing us around and the history of this one warms this newly planted Texas girls heart. They make a whole country breakfast every morning and have a restored Santa Fe caboose you can stay in! Visit the Buddy Holly Museum or the National Ranching Heritage Center too!

Oh Jennifer I am more sorry than words can ever say! I lost my fur baby boy brother kitties this past year. One @ 15 years old and the other @ 16 years old. I am seriously lost without them.

Jen, I have watched you through the beginning and even my own life changes. The constant we have in our lives is our animals. I cried when you talked about Winnie. I am so sorry for your loss. I started following you when I got a shih tzu and was searching for grooming tips 10 years ago. My Bailey is 10. I also have a rescue shih tzu, Suzie, who is 11. So we are in the golden years. I dread losing them. I lost my boxer/lab, Ellyanna a little over a year ago and still cry as I grieve. I pray for your comfort in the days ahead. I will miss seeing Winnie. She was a beauty.

Condolences for your loss...have been subscribed to Winnie's channel for years. Fly free and healthy Winnie... We would take our girl Lola to Tahoe with us each and every time. The first time we went after her passing we took her little box of ashes with us and faced them towards the Lake so she would have a bird's eye view.

My “puppy” is now 11 years old and os slowing down. I am so scared and fearful of her next vet visit soon. How do you prepare yourself for any dangers on hikes? Do you carry a gun? I fear for my safety if I hiked that trail alone 😮
Is it explained somewhere because im genuinely confused forgive me. You fly to your car? Do you worry about break ins? Do your kids go with you on these trips? Idk if a q and a is possible or anything to explain a little forgive me if this is wrong or anything. Im just not understanding.

Ah you missed out not driving through NM. You could’ve stopped at White Sands, as well as all the other hiking spots along the way. West TX is pretty blah compared to NM.
