Just what I was looking for. I'm going to make a full Burgundy asking the stitch with crocheted appliques of Christmas trees and stars. Love. your tutorial very informative and you were super at it. I love learning new stitches
Great video. I'm a virtual beginner in crocheting, so your video is great for me to follow and I love the seed stitch.... definitely going to pick up my hook now.... thanks Heather
Hello! This us exactly what I'm looking for! My daughter has asked me to make a patchwork baby blanket for my grandson. How would I adjust this pattern to make that? I bought Cascade yarn in different earth tone colors. I would appreciate your help.ThanksJan
There are 2 3/4th stitches per inch so if you want to do a blanket, for example, that you want 35 inches wide. You would multiply 35 to 2.75 (chain 96).......If you want it 40 inches wide then chain 110. I hope that helps!! Bye Heather
I love this stitch, for me, It would be helpful if the video showed 4/5 repeated stitches in a row then skipped to the end of the row to the next "need to know" or turning section, for pausing and working at my pace and catching up to the next transition of stitching row, it could shorten video time, & keep it moving along to what to do next. I always love if a video provides a time stamp too, ie: "row 2-1:28". just my humble helpful ideas as a viewers' perspective to use at your own discretion if you like? Teaching others is always an appreciated service of flexing for others to understand, not always easy. ☺ Well done video, clear and easy to follow and see, decent camera view too. much appreciated! :)
Thanks for the message. If I video pattern only has 1 or 2 rows then I don't label them but otherwise I always do. It's a black screen with the Row's number so people can't miss it. I don't go ahead while I'm doing a row because repetition is how you learn a stitch/pattern. It's more likely to stick in a persons mind, and can memorize faster, if they hear the instructions over and over. People appreciate it so I do it. Sorry so long...Thanks Heather
Hi, When you change yarns you can weave the tail in as you do the following row. I have a video at ruclips.net/video/pMkwLxVijyU/видео.html where it will show you how to carry yarn up the sides by weaving your tail in. It will tell you to drop the old yarn after weaving it in the first stitch only. In your case you would weave the ENTIRE tail in. All you have to do is hold the tail up against the row you're working on. As long as the hook goes under the stitch AND the tail you will be weaving it in. Hope that doesn't sound TO confusing. Let me know if you need anything else. :) Heather
Love the stitch!!! I understand and could follow along very well with your video. I understand it uses an odd number of stitches, can this be used to work an infinity scarf?
Hi I've never made one before so I don't know the construction but you would have the use the exact same pattern. You can try, you would know pretty quick if it would work or not. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Dear Heather, thanks for sharing ur awesome talents. U r so easy to follow. I am currently making the seed scarf. But,can u please tell me how to finish it off. It's so easy & looks great. All I have is Hobby Lobby . Love this yarn, and it looks real nice. Again thanks for sharing. Lily Baker.
Uyvonne Scott Do you mean making it all in 1 piece, lengthwise or width-wise. Not sure what you meant by the long way. You can make just anything with this stitch. I made a seed stitch blanket in columns and sewed then side by side. Don't know if that helps or not. You might have seen it in the video but it's at crochetpatterns09.blogspot.com/2011/06/6-column-seed-stitch-crochet-blanket.html Let me know if you have any other questions...Thanks Heather
Thanks! I just use a tripod and a standard digital camera. The set up is using a tripod then you take a horizontal camera mount to it. Then I screw the camera onto the end so it faces downward at my hands,
The link for the pattern is crochetpatterns09.blogspot.com/2014/05/SeedStitchVideo.html I put all the pattern links in the first line of the description. Thanks!!
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. The edges should look like the scarf in the video. You should have a straight edge throughout. Is it slanting?
I try to treat everyone as a beginner. Repetition is a good way to learn. The pattern is always available if you don't want to see the video. The link is in the description. Thanks Heather
Love, love, love! Haven't crocheted in a few years but this pattern and tutorial inspired me. Was able to start my scarf tonight. Thanks so much!
My fav stitch - made socks with it! Single crocheted toe/heel and seed stitched the rest. Gorgeous!

Love the seed stitch, but can you show how to change colors and what to do with the tail of yarn, please?

There's nothing special you have to do to end the scarf. Just repeat the row until you get the length you need. Thanks! Heather

Thanks so much :)
Heather
Thank you so easy to follow.
Thanks! Great tutorial!
Like this new stitch, thank you
Luving your videos! You make it soooo simple and easy to follow! Just a question: can the seed stitch be done vertically? Thanks!♡
Shelly Black You can make it width-wise (chain 200+)or height-wise which I do.
I like this, thank you!
Can you make a blanket the long way with this seed stitch

Your videos are so nice and clear! What are you using to record?
Thanks! I just use a tripod and a standard digital camera. The set up is using a tripod then you take a horizontal camera mount to it. Then I screw the camera onto the end so it faces downward at my hands,
Great stitch pattern, I'm using it to make... a scarf! :-)
Good..glad you like it!
I would like to try a full blanket how many chains would I need to do this thank you
Blankets cam be different sizes, Just decide how many inches you want it to be and multiple it by 2.75 (the gauge is 2.75).
love the video but cannot find the written pattern to download
The link for the pattern is crochetpatterns09.blogspot.com/2014/05/SeedStitchVideo.html
I put all the pattern links in the first line of the description. Thanks!!
Linda puntada gracias.
fantastic!
Quisiera ver estos videos de crochet en español sera que se puede
thank you
I’m just curious about the edges. They don’t appear to be straight and uniform. Do they even out once the blanket is finished?
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. The edges should look like the scarf in the video. You should have a straight edge throughout. Is it slanting?
Nice
OK👌👍👍
oops not asking lol meant afghan.
Would be better if we didn’t have to hear the commentary of the whole rows thank god only 12 stitches 😂😂
