Baseball needs more pitchers like him. That's the real art of pitching, not necessarily just trying to blow it by hitters but keeping hitters off balance with location. Those are the guys I think are most fun to watch.

Once every thing starts clicking at the same time I think the Giants will be a really fun team to watch this year. Also it’s nice having a manager who isn’t afraid of showing emotions back in the S.F. Dugout again

Part of it is drafting the right player, but enough stock isnt put into organizations who develop prospects better than others
As a giants fan who watched us go over a decade without developing any homegrown talent, can’t agree more. Watched Duval, Anderson, Wheeler, and a bunch others flourish on other teams.

Jake and Trevor do no favors on the subject of fan interference in the Rockies Mariners game by misquoting the rule.
59:40 time mark: Jake says, "The rulebook says that the fielder is supposed to be likely to catch it." That is incorrect.
The rulebook says: "When a spectator clearly prevents a fielder from catching a fly ball by reaching onto the field of play, the batter shall be ruled out. But no interference is called if a spectator comes in contact with a batted or thrown ball without reaching onto the field of play -- even if a fielder might have caught the ball had the spectator not been there."
So, if a fan reaches into the field of play and prevents a fielder from catching the ball, it is an out. The language "prevents a fielder from catching the ball" necessarily presumes a situation where the player COULD HAVE caught the ball. In other words, the player possibly could have caught the ball, rather than likely would have caught the ball.
Rangers also have an entire pitching staff on the IL, and they are in 1st place… RIP ‘Stros

Hey Jake, Trevor, BBD! Huge longtime Spotify listener. I know that you all have been playing around with some show format stuff to make it the best show possible. Take it or leave it, I want to offer some constructive criticism!
- It seems like you guys want to move away from the AL/NL/IL structure with the combo AL/NL recaps. Have you considered just doing AL and NL recaps including IL series within each league recap based on the home team? For example, the AL recap would include all AL v AL series and IL series where the AL team was the home team. NL recap includes all NL v NL series and IL series with the NL team as the home team. Might make the structure cleaner and easier to follow/listen. Keeping the structure the same from week to week (instead of changing week by week) makes it easier to listen.
- I (as i am sure many others do as well) use this show as their main baseball weekly news/recap. Im an avid Orioles fan, and I listen to this show as my favorite way to keep up with the rest of the league. Jake, during recaps/burns, having a positive statement at the start of a series stating the result goes miles for fully understanding what happened in a series. Stating "The Orioles take 2 out of 3 feom the Royals" prior to talking about the series is so helpful. Can also be said at the end after burning some of the details. Just reading names like "Santander, Mounty, Gunnar!" Without any other info and implying they did something cool isnt helpful when you have no context how they actually performed during the series. Eliminating this combined with the positive statement makes the "news/recap" part of the show SO much more clear and a better listen.

A good or bad bullpen can literally make or break your season. The awful bullpen was arguably the biggest factor for the Cardinals atrocious 2023 season.
Detroit and Cleveland are #1 and #2 for bullpen ERA right now. San Francisco, Houston, and Tampa are #29, #28, and #27 in bullpen ERA right now. Bullpens blowing leads is the quickest way to dig yourself into a deep hole in April.
