Jonas is just unstoppable this TDF. (They still have to do something to regulate the crowds, idiotic they haven’t done something yet.)
I was cheering on the side of Alpe d’Huez in ‘04. It was crazy, but nobody ran out in the road and actively blocked the riders. What a mess.
People are 🐒🐒🐒
They've never needed controls before. Crowds used to respect the riders. Now it's all about them (spectators).
Only regular issues I’ve seen have been all the motos and cars on the road. Don’t block fans access just so unnecessary vehicles can clog the roads.
Put a group b rally car through first😜
As a Dane I’m rooting for Vingegaard, but heartbreaking to see Pogacar’s meltdown today.. He is such a likable person, and love the close competition between these two rivals .. Hope he will come back strong next year for some more close action 🤞
Enig 💛💛

The disruption to preparation the last two years is probably frustrating. Hopefully we get to see them go head to head next year, both in amazing form.

He didn't know which bicycle to ride n the ITT. Hopefully, he will get more serious.
Felix Gall really deserved that stage win. Great job
They really need to start cracking down on crowd interference at the Tour. As long as they keep tolerating it, it's only a matter of time until teams start using it at a "tactic"
i suggest a snow plow. that would split the crowd
scythed motars
I only saw moto and car interference today. Maybe you want the whole race to be sterilized like Puy De Dome? No thanks.

Vingegård was asked on the Danish news whether he understood the social media questioning his performance in regard to doping. His answer was pretty straight ;- Yes, he understood it well and feels that people should continue to question the performances of any rider in the future to come. He clearly stated that he wasn´t on any illegal substances and believed the tour to be "clean" this year, one shouldn´t however be naive enough to think that doping is solely a thing of the past.
Doping evolves with technology/// We will find about today's methods in the next 5 to 10 years///
Gall and Zimmermann are my heroes. I am curious about their development the next years.
Pogi, great sportsmanship and much sympathie like always.
Pogacar vs. Gall vs. Cano vs. Skjelmose
There are some really good young riders. They will be fun to watch in future Tours.
@@monkey2.092Hopefully
Lots of names potentially able to step up. Gall Cano Skjelmose as already mentioned, at UAE there is not only Pogacar but also Juan Ayuso. Riccitello and Brenner two names worth keeping on your radar, Lenny Martinez already seems to be stepping up and I expect Uitjdebroecks to do the same. If Pidcock continues his progression and figures out his feeding issues then he can be a big feature of GC battles too!
@@Fyr35555 Lenny Martinez is very underrated, he's gonna do big things the way he's progressing

@@CaminoCarpet Actually I'm not a fan of TP or JV but I wish their rivalry lasted longer.
@@CaminoCarpet no, Im danish so I cheer for Vinegaard obviously. But I still like Pog and everybody does. The danish commentators also said during the race "this is heartbreaking" Pog is a great champion and has a great personality.
@@CaminoCarpet I'm a big JV fan, but still heartbreaking to hear those words. Definitely not elation. While I was rooting against TP, I wasn't rooting for an injury or total collapse. I was rooting for nother Stage 16 outcome, where JV blows TP away, but TP still but on an amazing performance.
Tadej is a great cyclist. In the TT he was more than 1:30 faster than all the rest but Jonas. I thank both for the exiting time they gave us.
Jonas is honestly on a whole other level this year.
Jonas getting better stage by stage, while others are empty.

I was rooting for Jonas, but did not like how this tour ended with Tadej collapsing completely. I wanted a close race until Saturday with Jonas winning by a few seconds. Tadej is a super cool guy, and did not deserve to go down this way.
Usually happens at some point just happened a few stages later then it usually does with T trying to break J. J letting T spend all his energy so T ran out of steam
But that is the name of the game in every TDF..... The one that is the strongest over 3 weeks will win!
We have just had the best tour for decades. All hail thís years king Vingo! And sallute to Poggi for the ride of the ages!
Next year these two beast will stunn us all again!
Jonas destroyed him. Quite literally.
Same here - Both riders are great guys. Hope Pogi comes back stronger next year
Pog not had the racing foundation as jonas did and also off bike with broken wrist ...it is what it is...he would've been better targeting the veulta
😭 As a Pogačar fan, this stage stole my soul.
He aint the Best sorry to say i love the fight these 2 have but , when poggy gets stressed for weeks his form decline , for that i Think he might fo for a Giro and Vuelta ,
And making the tdf borring again
He will be back. But he is - as he said it - dead, for now. Normally I would say Pog is a better rider than Jonas overall. But Jonas just handles heat and long pressure so much better right now. And the time trial showed also a better technique. He stayed on the TT bike. He was not flying around on the bike uphill. And downhill - never seen a rider with this technique. The way he took the corners. The way he placed himself on the road. Perfection. I think this surprised Pog more than we know.... And today he just gave up. It happens.... Next year will maybe be totally different. But what a TdF this year!
Even a guy from Denmark felt sad about Pogi… but he’s not all in on the TDF as Jonas.. he peaks twice (classics) and jonas once TDF.

As a Dane I support Vingegaard but Pogačar is such a trooper. I really respect the honorable fight he put up. Vingegaard is just on another level. The TT yesterday was a mind blowing demonstration of power. I have never seen anything like it.
Jonas is tops and he is to be champion - I'd be celebrating. Little bit sad for pogacar, it was such a close match just stage 16 did him. He could try to retain second spot as he seems a bit demoralised. Adam yates has a chance on no 2.
Jumbo Visma, what a team!!

The Tour De France organisation needs to get their s*** together. There are so much Chaos with cars, spectators and motorbikes. Luckily a incident like that has not decided the tour, but it is only a matter of time..
Gostaria de saber qual critério é usado para dispor as equipes para a etapa?
Felix Gall ✌👍
The TDF needs to ger these fans in check. God damn. Yellow Jersey just in a stand still during a climb is outrageous. But congarts to Jonas on the probable win. Pogi fought well tho.
The standstill was due to a stalled moto which then fell over on its side which in turn blocked the referee's car and all on a narrow single lane wide road. It was not really due to the crowds.
Boom
Excellent first time/stage win Felix
Congratulations Jonas for winning the Tour de France 2023! He executed his strategy to perfection. He wisely conserved his energy for two weeks, doing just enough to keep ahead of Tadej. Jonas waited patiently for Tadej to eat into his slim lead advantage, just sticking to Tadej during races. After luring Tadej with a false sense of hope that the rivalry is closely matched, Jonas finally fired his big guns with a dominating time trial and a massive climbing effort in stage 17, ending up with a 7-minute advantage. What a tactical battle this tour has been, Jumbo-Visma executing their team strategy to perfection. Jonas playing the long strategy to the end when it really mattered. He indeed showed he is the strongest rider of them all, a worthy champion and a sign of things to come.
Tadej spent too much energy yapping and teasing his opponents and other riders with his mouth :-)
Energy conservation definitely has played a part but I would not rule off illness / lack of preparation due to his injury as the decisive factor in the last couple of stages. Then again Vingegaard just seems to be on another level regardless, maybe it wouldn't have mattered either way...
I had that sensation after yesterday stage. He always said the team had a plan. They played the tactic to perfection.
Excellent pronunciation. Vingegaard (aa=å). 👌💪
Very rare, yes. While it isn't a great effort to prepare yourself properly , yet very few seem to have any interest.
Pogacar is young. He will come stronger next year. Vingegaard feel it.
Like good cheese and wine. Takes time.
😇
Crazy few months Gall is having since the tour de suisse. Vingegaard wanted it all today, but it proved too costly and he wisely "settled".. Nobody was catching Gall at that point.
Rob Hatch is generally the best commentator for those listening into the English broadcast when it comes to pronouncing names imo, although he does over-pronounce sometimes.

In two days we went from a rare close gap between top 2 to a unusually big one. Not even Froome's boring wins had such a margin. Amazing.
Boring wins!!! Right??!!!!! Ugh! Thanks to Sagan for making it interesting through that time. I loved the time Froome and Sagan went ahead and Froome tryed to out sprint him at the end. Sagan.... nope!
Jonas you done it you do your job very very well quitelly killing your rival 😂😂😂God job jonay
We were there! I like to think my yelling COME ON YATESY helped Simon with his p4 overall. He did a double take when he heard my Brit accent 😂
Team Jumbo Visma had an effective strategy and Vinny is proving that he is the greatest rider in Tour de France for 2 years in a row. I love Pog and I feel bad for him, I want him to win but Jonas is the man. The crowd control though, we are on 109th year of the race, yet the organizer still fail to control those euphoric and ecstatic fans(but not all behave well and intelligently) that causes accidents resulting in minor to race-abandoning injuries to the poor riders.
Sepp Kuss broke that race wide open at 3:13. That move broke Pogacar. I hope he gets a GC ride. Well done young man, well done!

Pogi has a cold sore at the edge of his mouth. That could indicate that his immune system is way down. It could also indicate that Pogi may suffer from a virus or other infection which, if getting worse, could result in him having to abandon the race. Hopefully, that will not be the case, but Pogi is definitely not his usual self at the moment. I cannot recall that Pogi has collapsed so seriously before.
Jonas seems to be on a different level this year.
He's been nobbing the Romanian hotel girls after the stages probably and got a bout of the old herpes. He's only young so can't blame him.
Pogi is not ill
Vingegaard 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
It would've been an insult to cycling had Pogacar won the TdF this year. Already peaking in the early season in march at Paris Nice and destroying MvdP and WvA in RvV, casually grabbing AGR and LFW on the way to LBL. Breaking his wrist and having a limited preparation to the TdF. Just, no. Stop the bullshit claims that Vingegaard is doping. There's no way Jumbo Visma would fall in the same trap again after Rasmussen. Jonas dedicates his cycling season to be in peak form at the TdF. Tadej doesn't.
You’re one of the only sensible people I’ve seen on social media past two days, god bless you sir
Yes you 're a believer!!!
Agreed. It was a breath of fresh air when Floyd Landis destroyed Lance.

Julian Alaphilippe hasn’t had any tactical nouse this TDF. He has made attempts at breakaways but it’s though he’s thinking “if I’m on tv that’s enough”. Not sure if it will endear him to Patrick Lefevere or secure his contract.
He’s rumoured to be moving to Total Energies, replacing Peter Sagan. You’d hope he does a bit more than Sagan for the team.
Shame to see Pog blow up on that last climb. Lack of prep has finally caught up with him

Jonas is the fastest two legged race horse... and a phenomenal climber 🏇🚴♂️🦵🦵
Congratulations, Gall! Congratulations, Vingegaard! Pogicar broke. I can't believe it. Pogicar had such a successful season before this race, he has no reason to feel down about anything. I like it when racing is more competitive like this.
The very active and successful early season ending in a broken wrist is the reason he can't match Jonas. He could beat all other riders (he is doing so as he is still 2nd) but Jonas is too good a GT rider for Pog to continue having fun in other races. Pog still best all round road racer in world but Vin not distracted by lesser races (TdF represents vast proportion of global cycling awareness and income)
@@cuebj That's a great summary of Pogicar's current circumstances. If he hadn't broken his wrist, he might have won this Tour, but I'm not totally certain. Vingegaard has had superb form. That time trial was a brilliant display of superior power. It has been fun to watch them scrap with each other.

No explosion, that was yesterday. Today, just a deflation.
Why is Pogacar being counted out already at this stage? Is it because the next stages are mostly downhill/ flats?
Too bad about the crash...Pogi looking to feeling the earlier season crash too.
Pity the GC race is over...
Well guess Tadej went flat out yesterday in the TT and he had nothing left in the tank for today’s stage. Still kudos to him for making this TDF exciting. Respect.
No. He's looked unnaturally pale for several days. The effects of the broken wrist are catching up in lost resilience for a 3-week slugfest. Two years ago he could ride with carefree abandoned win one-day races and TdF. Last year, Jonas appeared and the became focused on TdF. Pog could beat everyone else in GT while also doing the other races. Vin (who doesn't do the other stuff) is his match at GT, especially with the emphasis on monster mountains. So Pog will have to reign in his non-GT racing for fun if he wants to beat Vin at GT
Better Pogacar focus the 24 season on Le Tour of he wants to win it again.
About this years, I think its clear Jumbo played with Pogacar for two weeks and then droped the hammer.
This TdF is so brutal and cruel. Opening up with already gc contenders battle instead of nice sprinters stage, brutal 22km hilly TT, and a hellish mountain right after that? Damn
