    Campenaerts won the combativity award. So well deserved.... in the breakaway the entire day and leading out the 4 man breakaway all the way till 500 meters to go to ensure that one of them would win the stage. Epic!

    Thumbs down to Jasper Philipsen for that shameless behaviour, but thumbs up to Kasper Asgreen for denying him the chance to go for the win and saving Soudal - Quickstep's Tour in the process.

      Phillipsen helped Asgren to win. He provoked Enkhorn enough, so that he surely wanted to do everything (together with teammate Caempanaerts) for Phillipsen NOT winning. Not the way to make friends in the peleton.

      Yeah they pretty much forgot about different teams and just wanted to finish, you can see campenaerts congratulating kasper and kasper thanking him and the others for the good work they all 4 did

    At this stage, if someone swerved and took out Philipsen at high speed...I'd be fine with it.
    Absolutely ridiculous that the stewards are allowing him to basically bully the field.

      Felt like a lot of the peleton knew he was huge favourite in the sprint and didn't feel quite that motivated to help him after the jerk move.
      Why empty yourself pulling the break back when that guy's almost certain to win again, when most riders would have been a lot happier seeing Asgreen, Campenaerts, Abrahamsen or Eenkhoorn pull off the miracle.

    Asgreen owes that win to Campenaerts, who sacrificed himself in the final for his teammate. Lotto’s decision to put two in the break made the difference, if not ultimately in their favour.

      As I understand it, it wasn't just an arbitrary change. It was done because the sponsor changed and they have this new color as part of their logo. I do agree it is harder to pick out in the peloton.

    One of the key reasons the last few tours have been exciting is due to the presence of Wout Van Aert… his colossal all round ability and sheer unpredictability is a joy to watch and you want to wish him more and more success… WVA will surely be missed in the remainder of this tour

    How much crap exactly is jasper allowed to get away with ? This is getting ridiculous! Not only is he cutting people up in sprints but now also cutting people up who want to get away. That dude is gonna send somebody to the hospital soon if nothing is done about his behavior. He got no class and is putting shame to that jersey.       @@luckyspurs You would think the Team managers would share some of the responsibility for not controlling their dog. He's giving the sponsors a bad rap. He's just giving everyone supporting him a bad name. I don't wish this on any other rider but if on the last day something really bad happens in the sprint finish and Philipsen caused it I hope they toss him from the race. That would be the lesson he deserves.

    I was naively hoping for Sagan to show up for this stage as a farewell win to the TDF. He was instead invisible, as pragmatically expected.
    At this point I cannot understand why he even run the tour this year. Kinda sad to see him going this way to be fair.

      Sagan isn't at the tour to take over anymore but to take part in it for the sports he loves. I am actually glad he is still around even after all these years have gone by. One more stage win would be great to witness but I don't mind him taking the most mediocre role as long as he is here

      @@DdaDdaE Sorry pal, but I am pretty sure TotalEnergies is not paying him to do a 3-weeks holiday ride. We saw Cavendish, age 38 y/o, competing until his last breath to WIN. I cannot see why a 33 y/o Sagan should not be payed by his team and expected by his fans to do the exact same - considering the cycling legend he is. At this point do not show up to the event.

      @SixSioux haha I understand your frustration as a fan. I think it's almost inevitable for sprinters to have a short career. Cavendish is one in a million. Usually, sprinters don't last last that long. Caleb Ewan was expected to have a great career after winning 3 stages with such unconventional/unique sprinting style in 2019, but he isn't the same anymore after accidents. Same thing with Sagan, Sagan was involved in many accidents and just not the same guy anymore sadly

      Don't want to make it a Sagan vs Cav conversation tho. Just trying to underline that we all had the rights to expect something more from a rider having the status of Sagan - at his last TDF.

    I really appreciate the way the commentator pronounces the names so it is possible to understand which rider his talking about. He needs to hold a course for the other commentators on GCN/Eurosport though, because when I try to see something from women’s cycling or mtb, it is almost impossible to understand who they are talking about because the pronouncement are so English/Scottish or whatever..

      If Jonas wins this tour both he and Tadej will each have won 2 tours so technically 2-2

      @@Bryan__X__ Jonas became the leader of jumbo the second he was better on GC than Roglic in 2021. That’s how it works when there are two GC guys in a team like jumbo with realistic chances.
      Plus, Jonas was still trying to gap Tadej in 2021. I’d say that counts as a rival especially considering he finished second in GC.

    Yawn. This year's Tour descended into a wholly predictable, but unwelcome, farce with Tuesday's TT. Now that the winner has been manufactured we can all get on with other more important events in our lives. Not having to listen to Rob Hatch's commentary is a bonus.

      Why would they manufacture a more boring conclusion that people aren't as interested in. To get less TV ratings and sponsorships?
