    totally agree this is a must have concept. plus it gets you thinking ahead so you tend to know and hear the changes better rather than having a doh! moment.

    Herb Pomeroy told me that when doing a gig with Bird that Bird played a long solo and anticipated every chord change throughout the solo by a bar. Early on the the solo Max Roach yelled to every one: "Don't move!"

    Hello from Kansas City, Missouri Jeff. This is a great concept that virtually all of the Jazz Greats used. Pianist Hal Galper wrote a great book on phrasing called Forward Motion where he talks about this. Great video as always.Thanks.
