I have a 2010 rubicon. I've been looking into this swap...or something similar. Just know the deep appreciation I have that you're doing this and sharing it with us. I love that you are including the mistakes because for all of us who are doing or are planning on trying swaps like this, we don't have lifts and big garages and we don't have all the money in the world. This is how it's going to be when your average guy or gal wants to swap a V8 into their jk. So thank you.
Around hour 8 I would have been questioning my life choices...after the 3rd bolt broke I would have remortgaged my house to have a shop do it. Hang in there brother!
For the motor mounts, Bruisers webpage says it's for 12-18 JK. Will the same one still work with my 09JK? Also, I hear the body needs to be lifted for the swap to be possible but you pulled and installed it without removing the body?
This is a project I've been wanting to get myself into but removing the body scared me off. I have a 09 2 door JK and your video is giving me a little confidence Thank you!
I got a lq4 and a 4l80e for a future swap into my jk, is there any reason no to use the Chevy transfer case? Your the second person I’ve saw that put the Jeep t-case behind a 4l80

I got this same swap going here shortly. Appreciate the in-depth look.
Hopefully it helps man. Thanks for watching

All of those options have crossed my mind 😂
For future removal of similar plugs: blind bearing puller will work without tearing things up.
Keep it up! I’m starting to put together a shopping list for my own 6.0 JK swap and appreciate the info.
I’ll have a full list up towards the end of the install
I'd like a full walk
- through please. Thank you
I’ll add one to an upcoming video
Why does a non-rubicon transfer case work best?
Link for the engine mounts doesn’t work😢 great videos so far!
Give bruiser a call. Tell them Carlos sent you they’ll take care of you
Wonder if there is a 4L80 to rubicon transfer case adapter?
I have yet to see one
What you have to do to get the transmission bolt holes to work
Swap the flexplate
Great videos 👌 Fixin to Ls swap my 07. JW or maybe I missed it, is your el80e new or rebuilt?
It’s original. Not exactly sure what year it’s from but I didn’t have it rebuilt I was just hopeful that it would work fine and luckily it does
Is it still a aluminum block?

They worked for my 09 and nope the body never came off

Thank you!
@@aguywithajeep Bruiser doesn't even list LS motor mounts anymore. :(
@@desertclimbers I had to call them
@@aguywithajeep That's good to know, because the link to them on their website even gives a 404 now. Thanks!

I’ve only ever seen people keep the Jeep tcase. Honestly never seen someone use the Chevy tcase
The 241J is just as strong as the 241C but one big difference, the 241C has a slip yoke the 241J does not
That’s good to know thanks!
Are you using a drive by cable or wire set up?
DBW. That’ll be in the next video
Thanks man, can’t wait to see it finished
What year 4l80e are you using?
I believe it’s 06
@@aguywithajeep Thank you
The LQ9 actually is an LS motor! The is the same tech and design. In fact ALL gen 3 and gen 4 motors are LS motors. Ignore the nay sayers!
Cast block is the only real difference, and that’s fine by me 😂
@aguywithajeep still the same architecture, but since it's not the LS3 all the posers will hate. And most 6.2 ls motors aren't even the LS3.
