I rescued a Havanese 8 years ago. He was listed as a poodle, though at the time I picked him out I knew he wasn't that. His first groomer revealed he was a Havanese. He has lived up to everything I wanted in a dog. He even hugs me and kisses me about 5 times a day. These are excellent dogs!
I've had two of these awesome pups. Poncho passed away 10/22 @ nearky 19 yrs. Just lost Mikko in April at 18 yrs. Incredible family pups. It hurts so bad 😢
Just rescued a shelter dog last week and was unsure of her breed. She looked a bit like a Maltese, but with patches of reddish colouring. After many comparisons, it was determined she is a Havanese. She is the sweetest and most endearing little creature. I was in love with my border-collie, but as a now older person, this little gal is perfect for me, we go everywhere together. She is always so joyful, albeit that wasn't the case when she was in a crate from LA to Wa, she was totally terriried, too scared to get out of the crate, until the lid was removed and she was covered by a towel. I cannot think of a more perfect pet, totally adorable, gentle and intelligent.
I just adopted my 2 sweet havanese puppies. Joey is white with black ears and some black cow prints on his back. Nico is white with very light tan spots, they are almost 6 months old and love them sooooo much. They are very smart and pick up training so quickly unless they are distracted 😂. Best dogs ever
We have a Havanese.....Smart, loves to play with our miniature Aussie. He is very good with children.....companion dogs. So sweet and funny lil personality....Very alert to his surroundings. We live in the mountains . Great family dog.
We have an older bichon and shih-tzu and if we were to get another dog I wouldn't mind this breed. After watching my brother get mauled by a larger dog at young age, I've only felt safe with lap dogs. Not that big boys are bad boys, they're just not for me.

I have a Havapoo love this dog so much. She loves to be loved and play. She is gentle and very easy to please.

That's wonderful to hear! Havanese are such loving companions. Adding a rescue to your family would be a great way to give another pup a forever home!
Our purebred Havanese barks much more than any other dog we have had. Beware.
