No one can excuse RB in this case. If that happens in the high street or at WHL by a supporter it’s potentially custodial. Forget the actual throw alone it was violent and absolutely reckless action

I don’t think Postecoglou will keep Bentancur at the club after this. Postecoglou has strong values and it may be the last time we see Bentancur in a Spurs shirt. Bentancur was also involved in racist remarks against Son and also he reacted badly when substituted last season, angrily hurling a bottle to the floor.

Not sure you can blame England’s style of play on a bloated calendar when you’ve just praised how Spain play. Those players play internationally in various leagues and have the same pressures on them. That becomes a managerial/ player execution decision. Irrespective, farewell Troy Parrott, hopefully not goodbye. Fingers crossed that also means Alejo Veliz gets a chance in preseason, or else I fear he’ll be another not to get a proper shot and we don’t nurture properly. After all Kane wasn’t a 17 or 18 or even 19 yr old prodigy..

  • @roberto_camp
    @roberto_camp Месяц назад +2

The Nunez/Betancur stuff is absolutely bonkers. In one sense, I can understand Nunez's reaction and his actions --he went directly into the perceived threat and wanted to deal with it physically. Bentancur's actions of throwing bottles into the crowd is both stupid and cowardly. You can say Nunez going into the crowd is stupid, but definitely not stupid and cowardly --he was confronting male (and probably drunken) Colombian fans, for whatever the perceived threat was. Sorry to say, but Bentancur's behavior was a lil' b!@ch move.

Sort of a logic fallacy to say Southgate is good because his teams have done the best since Alfie. He has different players than previous managers and he’s playing against different teams. One needs to consider how well he compares to how others would do with these same players under similar circumstances. This is, admittedly, difficult to ascertain but it’s a bit lazy/simplistic to draw comparisons vs success in previous eras. That said, he seems to have a good relationship with his players and the media so that’s a positive. And given the talent available to him, England is punching at least their weight so he’s probably earned the right to keep his job.

Sure, on paper Southgate looks brilliant. England under his tenure has had very favourable draws in tournament play. The issue with him is that his progression as a manager has never been merited. You get the national gig based on how you perform at club level. If he that good, then why is that no PL side will hire him? None have attempted to pry him away from the national side, and I can say with certainty that no one will be there to hire him once he leaves. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Here is how he has actually fared at his tournaments. I'll give him flowers for the win against the Dutch. Easily one of his better tactical performances. However, one good match doesn't make him great.
    WC 2018:
    Group: Tunisia (W); Panama (W); Belgium (L)
    Knock-out: Colombia; Sweden; Croatia (L) - Semi; Belgium (L) - 3rd
    Euro 2020:
    Group: Croatia (W); Scotland (D); Czechia (W).
Knock-out: Germany; Ukraine; Denmark; Italy (L) - Final.
    WC 2022:
    Group: Iran (W); USA (D); Wales (W)
    Knock-out: Senegal; France (L) - Qtr
    Euro 2024:
    Group: Serbia (W); Denmark (D); Slovenia (D)
Knock-out: Slovakia; Switzerland; Netherlands; [Spain - Final]

I usually always agree with Alasdair but all the praise he gave to Southgate come on, what ???? 😱
England were seconds away from being eliminated by the European powerhouse 😂 which is Slovakia!!!... 😱
England's style of play since the start of the tournament has been the worst, the most boring, together with France.
You qualified for the final thanks to a pen which never was a pen. Let's reverse the roles and I would have loved to see the reaction of England players, fans and media if Holland had got it instead of England....
You haven't played a strong team yet and you are in the final, because you are simply very lucky with draws. Germany were far better than you...
So come on, praising Southgate like that is unbelievable !... With the great players you have, hire a top manager and you could win many trophies!
Southgate is as boring as his style of play ...
