Ugh. I miss this era of women’s tennis.. The Belgians (Clijsters and Henin), The Americans (Serena, Venus, Davenport), The French (Pierce and Mauresmo), and The Russians (Sharapova, Dementieva, Kuznetsova, Petrova, Chakvetadze). All of them are good to Legendary players.
@@crazycatpetera1404 he said all are from 'good to legendary'. Not saying all are legendary. And no the only legendary ones really are the Williams Sisters, Davenport and Henin

@B M-Y Sharapova did have a drug problem. She drugged up for the tennis courts and got drugged by Serena 20 times. No wonder the poor girl shoulder hurts.
@@RameshKumar-ud5uk Don't explain to brainless people. They don't understand anyway. They will argue with you to prove their stupidity. They need to check their brain first, before they will understand simple logic.
Geez, both were relentless. Sharapova with the nerve of steel during match points and Clijsters always returning one or two extra balls with her speed and court coverage. Those balls were enough to end points with most players but not Kim.
Ah yes, two great semifinals in 2005, Pierce v Dementieva being the other. The early to mid 2000s was a great era for womens tennis, I went to a lot of tournaments in Europe back then and saw a lot of these great players.
Hmm. Kim is physically superior and can move very well. It's her mental game that is the culprit in her early career. She does go deep in most tourneys but when faced with equally strong players, she sometimes crumbled. Thus, her GS trophies were won later on in her career when she reaches maturity and I guess gained a lot of experiences. Also during her time, it was so loaded with many great to legendary players (Hingis, Pierce, Davenport, Henin, Williams Sisters, Sharapova, Mauresmo, to name a few). Peak Kim and Post 1st childbirth can crush many top tenners today. :)
2 main reasons, first her mentally. Clijsters was notorious for being mentally fragile, and can somehow lost a match she all but won, or made it harder like this one. Second, the high competition with the Williams, Henin, Capriati, Mauresmo, Sharapova, Davenport, Demetiava.
@@kidpagronprimsank05 I firmly believe if she could have beat Capriati in the 2001 FO final in which she was so close to winning multiple times, that would have opened to floodgates to her winning multiple GS and possibly the Serena slam doesn't happen.
Sharapova is definitely showing A+ skills but in this match she is inconsistent unfortunately. Kim's speed is so incredible, probably the fastest woman in terms of reaction time

2000s player> 2010 gang of pushers. Kim was athletic like any pusher but has forehand and weapons. Henin could serve in 110 mphs range. No wonder kim destroyed wozniacki every time they met. We’ve had some awful pushers indeed but also the exact opposite, i.e more and more brainless ballbashers, especially amongst the generation that is coming. Look at Ostapenko, Yastremska, Sabalenko, Potapova you name it. To me they are horrible to watch

Hey there meldonium was totally legal and legitimate supplement for conditioning and healing tissue. The tennis association never informed maria of the banning of the product. And it wasn't even on her medicine list. It was just as a vitamin supplement.
Clijsters is giving too many balls back to Sharapova. She should put the ball away from sharapova during returner serve and also to put more drop shots cos Sharapova's weakness is her movements.

I think Clijsters is one of the few players that Sharapova actually liked and admired (for her perspective after defeats).
Not sure anyone disliked Kim, one of the friendliest players I'm WTA history. Maria on the other hand...
