Great video. As a beginner I would also recommend taking small notes of every match that you play. This way you will realize why you lost or won a game. When you play the same kind of deck later you know what you can expect and how to counter it. It's also a nice way to see how your skills are progressing over time.
This is an AWESOME video. I’m pretty new to TCGs and I love one piece and trying to learn more about OPTCG so this opened my eyes to so many things! Hope to see more videos like this :)
I literally just started to collect and play. And your videos, especially this, are a great way to learn the game and they help a lot! Im going on my first pre release next Monday, so thank you a lot :)
Thank you, this is really what i needed. It helps me to understand the basic fundamentals, how decks and also deck building works. I honestly just played on the sim some budget and meta decks. Playing them made me learn the game and also understand what the decks are trying to accomplish but i never undersatnd why some decks have blockers and how many and also how many 2k Counter creature are to many or to less. Really thank you, hope this knowledge will help on my preRealese.
This may be a dumb question lol I’m new, but my local store has these prerelease events as well and I’m just curious what they are? Are they worth signing up for?
@dannygal3098 pre release events are sealed events where you are given packs to build a deck from. Then you play in a tournament with everyone else using these decks. Usually you bring whatever leader you want and they're all legal for the event. Overall I'd say it's super worth it. You get unique prizing and special promos for playing. Plus it's a very fun format.
@dannygal3098 It was great fun, people were really friendly and (crucially for me) patient, and you come away with a ton of new cards! It's definitely worth attending even as a beginner.
Good sir, I just found this channel a month after you put out this video and I got to say, you got an instant sub not only for the great content but Risk of Rain 2 love
If you have a video on the fundamentals of one piece, would appreciate a link in the description, trying to get into it after the pathetic yugioh banlist but the one short tutorial I found was full of specific terms and overall too complicated for me to follow
I’ve one twice , of a month of play I have multiple great leaders like enel, black beard. But I’m terrible at deck building. I promise to never lose again
As a new guy into One Piece, this is still all Rocketscience for me. But this great video, will certainly help me out. Still undediced what deck I want to try out first.. Either Black or Red? What you guys think as first try.. Black or Red?
Red does a bit better next set and is easier to learn. But black is very strong right now and has more options for removal. Red right now you can play whitebeard and later on shanks. Black right now you can play rob lucci or gecko moria.
Guys im completely new! Which starter deck would you guys recommend? Or would you recommend a starter deck at all or is it just better to buy booster packs? And also, Im 32 , are there any other „older“ guys here xD or am I just a big child xD
Buy singles online. That way you can always get what you need. Starter decks are good, but only if you'/re going to play the theme the deck supports. You need to buy 2 of that starter deck and will still have to look for upgrades elsewhere. I do a video series where I talk about and show some good decks to start with. i recommend looking at my most recent new player deck choice guide.
Great video but where do I learn the “specifics of your deck” that you’re talking about? where do I find these resources as a new reiki player for example?
Yes look up one piece tcg sim online the creator has a link with all the downloads. You just have to allow 3rd party app install in your settings. You can look up a video on how to do that as well.
4:03 you drop card names like if I would Know what they do! Please be more beginner friendly and assume viewer does not know cards and what they do please
As a Vanguard player (Magnolia Masque main) I'd say that instead of a Vanguard copycat, it's more like a MTG/SVE clone, OPTCG is sadly more strategic than CFV (I blame restanders for ruining CFV)

Things like ‘this turn vs this battle’ or triggers or when you can attack and counter and things like that are never explained in starter videos
Fantastic video! Just started playing and wanted something more than the basic rules so this was perfect.
I am new to this game coming over from MTG, this is the best video I have found to help understand the game better.
Same just started in prb01
I was hoping for a new video and this one is perfect for me, since I got back into the game again recently. Thanks a lot!
Legendary video as always, sir.

I always find myself writing notes during these videos lol. thanks for the hard work

just signed up for my local prerelease event for op08. So as a new player, the timing of this video is very good!

Great video , thanks!

I’ve one twice , of a month of play I have multiple great leaders like enel, black beard. But I’m terrible at deck building.

Is one piece an eternal format? Or rotation? If it's rotation, how does it work?
it's eternal
Great video but where do I learn the “specifics of your deck” that you’re talking about? where do I find these resources as a new reiki player for example?
You can check out a channel like egman events, you can look around for specific deck guides on youtube, or you can meet and play with people IRL.
Why is the rain purple?
Where was that online game?
Is there any way to play the card game online, like through an app similar to the one you're playing in the background?
Just the app I'm using. You can find it through the one piece tcg discord
Is there a way to play on my phone??? Like ptcgl???
Yes look up one piece tcg sim online the creator has a link with all the downloads. You just have to allow 3rd party app install in your settings. You can look up a video on how to do that as well.
@@jonathanwilson8265 thank you so much i want to play on my iphone is it possible?
The title is wrong, its not how to play, its how to build a deck
It’s how to play competitively. Assuming the viewer knows the basics and just focuses on how to improve by getting more in depth
4:03 you drop card names like if I would Know what they do! Please be more beginner friendly and assume viewer does not know cards and what they do please
No
Literally says for competitive play .. go to beginner play lol
If you know vanguard or duel masters you will be fine with this rippoff game, also you never did a video on battle spirits sagas great gameplay

Ripoff? Don’t be silly
