Good morning Nikol, what a beautiful podcast ❤, life is to short enjoy every moment with you family, we will always be here waiting for you, we all have lots of knitting to keep us busy until we see your smiling face, hugs ❤
Since it took me a week to find time to watch your video, I understand your decision to return to monthly podcasts. Family is always first! That is the reason I am behind on watching my favorite podcasters. End of school year activities for 11 grandchildren can get overwhelming! Your basement is going to be wonderful for your family to be able to spread out a little. Please keep us updated on your progress. Best of luck in gardening and your wish for simple living.
Please do not feel you have to apologize! You and your family are priority, always. Love your videos, I’m behind watching due to living life. Rest…be at peace 🕊️
Just had my morning coffee, knitting, cat on lap and your lovely episode! How is that for gentle living, hey? Renovating projects whether in or out the home are always all consuming, between the planning, the doing, the living through it, the emotional and financial pressures and the aspirations and dreams so no wonder there’s no place for videoing, Nicole! Energy is not endless so you are the only person to decide where and how you wish to invest it. Wishing you all the best in your endeavours and as always, already looking forward to your next visit!🤗
So happy to see you posted a video! I like this new way with everything! Yes your family and you come first, always!!! I was really interested in reading WAVE because my present husband lost a brother in the 1964 tsunami in Valdez, Alaska. That was 60+ years ago and his stories are as fresh as yesterday. And I lost my husband in 2012 to suicide so thinking of reading a memoir like WAVE caused interest as well as apprehension. I totally understood where Sonali was coming from in her grief, it made a lot of sense to me anyway but yes I too think she held back in the book. She has a lot of self guilt to work through. I remember when the police left after informing me of my husband’s death and later trying to go into our bedroom to try and sleep and finding his pajamas folded at the end of the bed as usual tore me up. I couldn’t sleep in my bed for over a week until I could remove his stuff. I get why Sonali couldn’t go back to their place because as she eventually wrote, it was exactly as they had left it. Plus I think she was so afraid to leave Sri Lanka because then it would be final. I can’t even imagine losing my whole family like that. I felt that WAVE was a journal of healing and I was truly honored that Sonali gave us a small glimpse of her experience. Very sad but a relief to read that she was healing. Thank you, Nikol for doing this book club! I used to be into true crime, mostly just Ann Rule books so I saw that her daughter Leslie Rule had a book out called A Tangled Web. Oh my, now I remember why I quit reading them. Trying to understand the mind of a killer is stressful! Ohhhh and I started reading Dolen Valdez-Perkins book, Wench. So far it’s very good. I stopped for awhile because I can tell it’s going to be sad and I’m a whimp! I’m excited for you on the basement remodel! Slow down and enjoy the process. Oh and my hubby is loud too so I get it! 😉😂😂😂
Thank you so much for sharing your story, and your thoughts!❤️🥰 I love that you are comfortable sharing your experiences…we can all learn so much for each other!I am so glad you’re here.
Wow! Your downstairs basement is going to be fabulous. Thanks for sharing the video and I'll be looking forward to seeing the progress on it. I do completely understand the chaos that home renovation creates. Been there many times! Enjoy your month! All the best to you and your family.
Good for you putting self care first! I am glad you are not giving it up completely though, I relate so much to everything you post. I find your podcasts to be very affirming and comforting.
Enjoyed watching the video. Thanks so much for sharing what you read. I’m just getting into my reading groove again after a short break. Also, I’m getting back to my knitting. Anyway, always love catching up with you on the videos, but I’m so glad that you are listening to what you need and if that’s less videos then I’m glad that’s what you’ll do. Your garden looks great! I’m so looking forward to getting in my garden regularly. Hoping I can put some of my seedlings out this weekend!
Hi Nikol, love your podcast, always do what is right for you. I've had a year of it and just realising I need to take time out for me! Take care, see you next month :)
Nikol….your family comes first. We will be here whenever you make a video. So, I read about half of The Wave. I decided to put it down. I also lost a brother and was feeling a few triggers. I felt bad about not finishing the book. But made the right decision
Glad you're doing what is best for you. The basement project will be epic but require a lot to execute your plans. One post a month is fine! I was excited to read Wave - have wanted to read it for awhile. Unfortunately, although such an incredible tragedy, for some reason I struggled to remain interested. It was ok. I'm almost finished with James. Found it kinda difficult to get into, but it gets very exciting and hard to put down. It's definitely a lot to process.... Loving your book club!
O Nikol I hope you have a wonderful mother's day 💗
