Mactan island is the battlefield of first Filipino hero Lapu-Lapu and Portuguese conquistador Magellan under the bannership of Spain. So, you can see mostly of the architectural designs are Spanish inspired because of historical events that happened in historical Mactan.
It would be better than bgc when its fully built… because it has access to many near world class resorts and its location is good because its mear the airport and beaches, it also has a combination of urban and tropical island vibes.
Looks like the pre-developed BGC when it was only Market Market and some few furniture shops. And look at it now! Except for the beach and the fun-loving Visayan people which is an added attraction. Id buy a condo there if I still like the city life. Nice vlog today.
I don't know if you're still in Mactan but Kadaugan festival is almost there but it's on April 27th it is Mactan's own festival aside from Sinulog. Also there's a ton of resorts and condo development going on in that area like Tambuli Seaside living and Aruga by Rockwell to name a few. Il Corso Cebu is also a must visit starting at 5pm during the weekends they have a dountain show.
Cordova is still quite a sleepy town distinct from Lapulapu City, but now with CCLEX, it's sure to be developed too. And there are several huge reclamation projects there to build new townships. The Mactan Newtown Beachwalk is easily one of the most exciting projects in Mactan, apart from the Seagrove Estate owned by Ayala in Punta Engaño.
Great video showing us the best and latest development at Cebu....you described it thoroughly and interestingly...not to mention the flavorful food(s) of your choice. What a delight watching all of Mergim's videos. Take care...God bless.
some of the "gentrifying" developments in cebu include: 1) i.t. park (hundred of houses were recently demolished (mostly military occupants since the 1980s) to make way for the expansion of the i.t. park 10 years from now, i.t. park will become a mini-bgc 2) mandani bay in mandaue city 3) south reclamation projects btw, most of the residential villages are now relocated in talamban area there are hundreds or thousands of residences in talamban that are mushrooming since the year 2000 ~•~ i don't know if mactan newtown will push through they will create one of the largest malls in cebu with a white sand beach yes, mactan newtown has a white sand beach (i think at the back / as shown in the video) it will be a billion-peso project probably, one of its kind in the country
McDonald's Philippines are owned by Golden Acres Development Corporation which is formerly Mc George Foods and the CEO is Kenneth T. Megaworld has a beach property as well in Boracay. We toured it as the agent was offering the development of condo & community over there. It was still on its early stage in 2012 when we daw it but I've heared these days its up, the buildings & some commercial spaces.
Actually that’s a bit sad. Because the developments of Megaworld turns each town into Europe. It’s good if they create properties showcasing Philippine architecture.
We’re used to go there on that beach when it was not owned by Megaworld yet, I forgot it’s name back then lol getting old now living in Wellington NZ 😂😂😂🇳🇿🇵🇭 Oh it’s Portofino beach 🏝️
Watching you vlogs we can able to see the beautiful places in the Philippines..That is the advantage of being a vlogger..Goodluck to your journey Mergim.
Cross Olanggo island then eat the Sea Urchin (Swaki) and Spider Shell (Sa-ang). enjoy biking around the beauty of the island. You can choose eithe Angasil Port or Punta Engaño port...
Concentrix is a BPO company. They might have leased some part of the mall for their business operation. I'm amazed that Megaworld was able to get a land that big in Cebu. That is actually a very good location because there is a beach within the property of Megaworld.
They are not on a mall, they rented floors for offices, and its in the condo units converted to offices. There is only a very small mall on the way up to the office.
Im a bit skeptical about the prices of the units. For a 50 sqm floor area at 8. to 10M is prohibitive considering that recession is just around the corner. Their prospective clients again are foreigners. Americans who choose to live here are mostly dependent on their social security. Maybe repricing the product can help.
I don’t see a solid reason why Theres an entrance fee and the ridiculous fake roses. Why can’t put it up not on the ground, and so they can use the space instead! Whose ideas is that! It a wrong idea for sure. Red colors is better but white is boring as well.
YES. You will find quite a lot of Tagalog speaking folks migrated here for job opportunities, aside from foreigners. I worked in a company years ago where I had a french, american, and a nepalese officemates. Also my brother in law is from Bicol, and we have a lot of neighbors in our subdivision who are from Luzon. Cebu's economy is growing in a rapid pace actually. Mactan Newtown is not the only promising CBD in the metro too, there are quite a lot. Mandani Bay (also by the coast), City di Mare, South Coast City (also by the coast), NuStar Resort, Minglanilla Techno Business Park, to name a few.
@@denniszenanywhere Actually, Mergim has already featured the incomplete NuStar Resort, and has unknowingly entered the grounds of City di Mare during Sinulog. But yes, I agree. Mergim...we have been following you for almost a year now..we plan to stay in BGC, rent a condominium for like 1 year, how can I reach you or sent you an email.

the beauty comes in the night time where the roses lights up....perfect for selfie...

Currently CEBU has 2 major CBDs namely CEBU BUSINESS PARK and CEBU IT PARK. also alot are underconstruction like SRP, MANDANY BAY and alot more.
yup, i was there last year! they keep trying to advertise and lure foreign investments!
also has developing CBDs like Gatewalk district, South Coast City, City de mare

The Mactan Newtown looks like the BGC version of Cebu. 👍
True, bec its newer and more modern than IT Park, which used to be Cebu's modern district.
Wow! Lovely for a wedding venue, the white artificial roses. Enjoy Mactan, Mergim. 😊🌹😍
Wow, your in In our Megaworld Newtown Mactan Island Township in Mactan Island Cebu. Watching from Beaumont CA #IAmMegaworldAbePagtama

Good Morning Mergim have nice day🏊🌺🏄💐🇵🇭
a lot of these 'new town' developments all look and feel the same, so you're not wrong to say it's "like BGC".

Yes Portofino beach, that's also the reason why there's already a lot of people, bec it's been there even before Megaworld bought it.
Now there are flights from Baguio to Cebu and vice versa so i can visit Cebu this year. Enshallah.
I’m looking forward to visiting Baguio now, 1.5 hour flight from Cebu vs 4-5 bus ride from Manila!
Thank you for exploring Cebu for us. Ride safe Chairman and enjoy
Yes, definitely watch out for the Kadaugan sa Mactan festival on 27th April! It's to commemorate the Filipino hero Lapu-Lapu's win against Magellan.

Hey dude. What camera do you use for blogging? GoPro and IPhone? You’re videos are awesome!
Just put a mall on a remote place and that location would be developed eventually.

Yung bata nadapa 2:33 hoho
I hate to say this but they're just wasting the space for those 10k artificial white roses. And it doesn't even look good. Lol
I agree. Why not plant real white roses? I think white roses really exist.
You are absolutely right. Twenty pesos to enter for nothing.
it will light up at night..its a nice place for photo op
Maybe they might change the color of the roses every a month or a year
Or maybe they put some light of the rose after the sunset
