Vinnie stands apart from many shredders of his time. I remember some of his solos note per note, embedded in my head even when I haven't heard them for years
I was a teen in the UK and had Mind's Eye ordered from Shrapnel. It sounded unlike a lot of shred, it was mega melodic. I remember Mr Moore talking about a guy called Larry Carlton being a big influence on him. A big thank you for that reference Mr Moore as I got into Larry Carlton, Steely Dan and then jazz. Mr Moore opened my sonic world massively.
Yes indeed, and as a fusion fan myself I found many of the shredders boring, but Vinnie had more in his arsenal as you say. I often thought he had shades of Al Di Meola too. He and Gregg Howe were the two shredders I could listen to whilst the rest soon became boring to me for their lack of harmonic and melodic invention. Great to see a Vinnie still tearing it up🎸🤘🏻
Pura arte! muita melodia, escalas rápidas na hora certa, arpejos incríveis e o outro guita muito bom tb. Conheço bem a musica, não percebi nenhuma nota errada! Um cara com 60 tocar assim é uma glória.
Gostoso. I still like listening to his old records. I'm a fan of this 80s style. He recorded the guitars for this record in a few days, and he was only 21 years old.
Increíble genio guitarrista, lo conocí porque venía un sencillo en una revista de guitar magazine, geniales tiempos. Merece ser considerado dentro de los mejores guitarristas del mundo.
Thanks for posting! This is not Mind's Eye, it is called "In Control" First song on the Mind's Eye album. Would love a few more Neoclassical albums from Vinnie.
This is one of those guys who's always left out of the GOAT's conversation. I am guilty of it too. This is one of those guys that your favorite guitar player will say is an influence and had a huge impact on their career. No one would call him "underrated" by any stretch, but his name is often over looked. I always hear the same names like Vai, Satch, Page, Clapton, EVH...but every one of those would tell you Vinnie is THE man
Vinnie Moore is a true virtuoso guitarist AND songwriter in my opinion. He has all the chops of Yngwie, but writes WAY better music. I've also never understood why Vinnie hasn't been on the G3 tour as a regular guest. How can Joe and Steve have that dork from Def Leppard on G3 but not Vinnie?! Phil Collen is a mediocre guitarist at best.
Clapton for me personally is more of a singer/songwriter/guitarist than a virtuoso shredder. He is more like the archetype of what guys like John Mayer would later be. I would say Chris Impelliteri, Paul Gilbert and Tony McAlpine are in the same virtuoso shredder category as Vinnie Moore rather than Clapton.
@@funkysanta9052 Yes, you are correct. But back in the 70's when he was doing all the Bluesbreaker stuff he was THE MAN. That's where the "Clapton is God" phrase came from. He did things on the guitar that had never been seen or heard of, a real innovator. That's really the reason I included him in that statement. Just a giant in the realm of guitar
As a young man I wrote into the fan club. In a few weeks I got an autographed picture with an Alice Cooper guitar pick attached to it. It’s been 30+ years and I still have it.
Dear Georrge, thank you so much for tthis video! Vinnie is a true legend, who has influenced many players around the world with great melodic compositions like this one.
Vinnie has not been a Dean endorsed artist for a while anymore, he left like some other big names did. Reasons were discussed and debated in guitar forums. As for the Kramer, he's kinda back to his early days. Afaik, Kramer Pacer was his first "shred" guitar after the Stratocaster he owned. These new ones he's been playing for couple of years now are not regular off the shelf models. They have been specifically modified for him, but not available as a signature model...at least not yet.
My favourite guitarist. Those first 5 albums were classics. Doesn't get talked about nearly enough when discussing the best players. Speed but with melody. The arpeggios!
I've never heard of "Heartfelt" guitars, but Fender had a line of guitars called "Heartfield" back in the late 1980's / early 1990's. Vinnie was an endorser (he played a Heartfield Talon).
@@Rick-Guitar-Bass-Science-Math That's awesome. Do you still have it? Those Talons still fetch a good price on the used market. If they're in really good condition they're close to $1,000.
I saw Vinnie open for Rush in Philly. Must have been early 90's? Someon in the upper stands had a GIANT banner, "Vinnie owes me Money!" LOL. After all these years when I come across music from Vinnie I always think of that. I wonder if that guy ever got paid?

Takes me back. I used to listen to that album all the time when I started playing guitar. Vinnie's playing was a huge source of inspiration.
@@hon8177 It does, but for true historical fun he should go for a white Ibanez like in his REH video.

He was such a huge influence on me . I completely immersed my self in his two instructional videos. My guitar teacher!!
bravo... and a real rock set up with amps mic'd on stage, drums in the backround.. nice
Wonderful music. I wish he would return to this style. 🙏
He just did ^^^
He was at his peak first album. He should get Tommy and Andy West for one more album.
Vinnie still totally has it hes lost nothing, absolutely incredible!!!

He sounds great
One of the truly great shredders deserves so much more recognition loved his playing Alex skolnick of testament was another
I learned how to alternating pick from Vinnie's videos almost 40 years ago!!!
VINNIE MOORE IS THE BEST GUIATRIST IN THE WORLD ❤
日本語で失礼します😊さすがビニームーア
メロディックですね~😂誰とは言わないけどただ速いだけじゃなく綺麗なメロディで、音色もマイルド温かい歪みでずっと聴いていたいです❤😊

0:39 Daaaaaamn, John Pettrucii on bass too. Nice line up.
Nope, not Petrucci.

Great Sound & Picture Quality !
The mix is weak. I was a sound engineer for 43 years. If I would have mixed like this I would have had a hard time keeping a job.
Vinnie Moore 😮 it was a long time 🤘

That Bogner blows that Marshall away
Kick ass he’s got a Kramer. Is that one of the older 80s guitars?
It's in control, from mind's eye CD
Second guitarist did a good job. Great band.
Big fan of his Shrapnel Releases. . More suited for his Instrumental material, not UFO.
man that looked fun, can i play?
He grew up down the road from me. Was a local celebrity.
I stunned people back then with his guitar playing? Nobody was better in town?
Very clean sound
a real guitar olimpic super hero
Tks!
The opening piece was straight from the Uli Jon Roth school of influence. I could hear it. Nicely done Vincent.
진짜 죽인다
Klasse Vinnie - aber dein Kollege auch! ;-))
great stuff
Real Guitar Hero
Who is the Second Guitarist? He’s got some Chops too. 🔪

The bass player looks awesome! Real bassists ARE long-haired and black-bearded!
Temu Andy James on rhythm guitar 🎸
I think this is In Control?
Check this out!
Every phrase he plays ends like a full stop. It really is a bad habit he has never changed.
This is in control, not minds eye
Is that the drummer from Black Label Society?
Yes it is and so is the bass player I think.
I love this album.. ❤ And if you play that Kramer in Red gonna suit you more, i reckon.. 😂
Each phrase is finished the same, on the strong beat, spent all his life and still hasn’t corrected it.
can you elaborate on that pls. I'm just interested in musical styles and influences.
