I remember that Maximum Security album back in 86, or 7. I played along to that song, Tears of Sahara, at least ten thousand times. Such a beautiful composition. Such harmonic mastery. And when all things seem to good to be true, out pops one of my old guitar teachers, Vinnie Moore. I love both of these guys so much. They are so much part of my life, and my life-long guitar journey. Thank you guys for just being so damn awesome.
Vinnie also played on the original. Cool to see two guys who basically got signed to Shapnel to make their first album around the same time coincidentally collab years later live.
I remember my boyfriend mentioning him back in 80's. My boyfriend was AMAZING himself, so if he was impressed by someone I believed him!! Yet, I never heard this guy play until I saw his name pop up in Pinterest and then I remembered. I just heard him for the first time today.. Better nearly 40 years later than never!!
No musician no artist no player no guitarist no pianist can stand in front and before Tony Macalpine= Tony Macalpine beats them all, he is the best musician in the whole world, Take that a word from a fellow musician cheers 22th April 2023
My boyfriend bacinthadae' mentioned him to me, so I knew that he must be good!! I was just over in Pinterest and saw his name. This is the first time I've ever heard him play. Better nearly 40 years late than never...
Fantastic. Though I really respect the capability of modern players like Tosin Abasi and Tim Henson, the earlier virtuosos like Macalpine and Moore are just so much more pleasing to the ears.
As much as I love Vinnie, George's playing on that album is untouchable. Even back then I was surprised he could pull something like that off. Dokken was cool, but George stepped up playing with Tony. Well he would have to. lol
Happy to watch Tony's playing after recovery from cancer! Tony! I love u n yr music! Please be with us for a long time!^^♡
2 masters of music and guitar techniques. No more words to explain.

@@OmniscientVirtuosity u r a judgemental hippocrate
I’m always proud to say Vinnie is one of my high school buddies !! Yes Vinnie I remember the Asbury church carnival gig !!
Excellent! I think Vinnie is a really underrated guitarist, amazing precision.
Tony ‘s technique is mind blowing! Not too many players including Vinny who aren’t scared shitless of him.
1:15 That improvised melody still melts my heart, So beautiful.
Mysterious. Why do I have the same feeling at the same time?
These are the details Tony specializes in ❤

Two of the greatest musicians. Awesome musical brains, wow!!
Two absolute legends. No comparisons here. Awesome playing.
Vinnie also played on the original. Cool to see two guys who basically got signed to Shapnel to make their first album around the same time coincidentally collab years later live.
Vinnie did not play on the original Tears of Sahara. It was George Lynch.
not true, as other commenter said it was lynch. but tmac did play keys on vinnie moore's the maze album.
i think tmac was also playing keys on Minds eye (vinnies first album)
Tony keeps uping his game. Also would love to see Vinnie Moore on a G4 or Generation Axe tour. He deserves more exposure
My guess is that no one at those overated G...bs, understand or appreciate a genius Melody, just pure trash and garbage is welcome there
He was on a couple G3 tours. He's usually Vais keyboardist/guitar player.
@@andrewkramer4021 yeah I like Tony but I meant Vinnie

Two of my absolute fav guitarists! Add Yngwie for my personal holy trinity😁
Bucket list Item #12 complete!...see Vinnie Moore and Tony Macalpine perform "tears of sahara" together in Japan.
I woulda gone but guess what? Fucking promoters love skipping over Nagoya, because they are fucking cunts.
Brian Butterworth japan really gets what they deserve. Epic fans. Epic society in modern times. Such respect and appreciation
I haven't seen Tony that on since the 80's...Incredible feel!
I would love to see them both touring together!!! PLEASE!!!!.....Thank You.....\m/

I'm just seeing this now, these guys still have it. MacAlpine is just remarkable. Makes it look so easy
TONY IS THE PERSONIFICATION OF MUSIC
Both Tony and Vinnie are awesome.. throw in Paul Gilbert, Greg Howe, Eric Johnson, Vai, kotzen and satriani and you have a buffet of awesomeness
Wow! Never thought I would see these two together!
Vinnie & Tony

Me sacan lagrimas...
Love this 👍👍
My two favorite guitarists!
Love the way he play with the rhythm
This is great! MacAlpine is so underrated.
Deux Géants de la guitare.....Fabuleux
Beautiful piece And I love hearing these two together . Spectacular ❤️
A hell of a treat for any guitar fan. Kudos to both of these demi-gods!
Masterpiece.❤️
if i really rember was tony a classical player on keyboard,,,he has done the way of the 6-string...and that was good...awesome guitarplayer now^^
Yes that's true
He plays keyboards on Vinnie Moores first album Minds Eye, have a listen to In Control to hear Tony play.
And on the MARS album he does the keyboards. Nostradamus intro for sure.
Nice
Cool
Thanks😮😊😊😊
Those two on the same stage is some real Thanos shit! Incredible
Two of the top three
Two greats!!! I got a lesson with Tony tonight! So stoked.

Two legends 🙌
Awesomeness
Wish we could get the original "second" guitarist George Lynch on stage with Tony to play this classic jam. One of my favorites!
Meu ídolo TONY, eterno...
Wat a combo 👏 💯🤘 tis track I'll forever love ❤
Grate live sound
These two guys should record an instrumental album together.
I think we have all been waiting almost 30 years for that!!!
My boyfriend bacinthadae' mentioned him to me, so I knew that he must be good!! I was just over in Pinterest and saw his name. This is the first time I've ever heard him play. Better nearly 40 years late than never...

Tony and Vinnie sound like a couple of wiseguys.
Tony is king
Fantastic. Though I really respect the capability of modern players like Tosin Abasi and Tim Henson, the earlier virtuosos like Macalpine and Moore are just so much more pleasing to the ears.

DAMN, how come no one told me about this gig?
🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
epic as all fck
Tony MacAlpine and Greg Howe duet?
Vinnie Moore playing his thing over george lynch's solos = even better.
As much as I love Vinnie, George's playing on that album is untouchable. Even back then I was surprised he could pull something like that off. Dokken was cool, but George stepped up playing with Tony. Well he would have to. lol
I was at the L.A. shows...wondering what happened with Vinnie's gear?
I know its your song Tony but it was already a masterpiece it didn't need new guitar lines
Where is George lynch?
I miss his tone
Tony is as much an alien as Satch, but where are they from?
Uranus
Have you filmed the complete shows of Tony and Vinnie?
F*ck, Vinnie was sooooo, ummm, unseen? Oh, and windbell, don't ever upload cell phone audio/video again. Thats an order. 'Nuff said?
Tommy, where are your beautiful hair? What's rong?
MacAlpine has more feel...
Moore is too clean
I didn't know he had cancer
What was that ? Lol 3/10 Nili are You wathin this ? Haha nooooo
