As a Canon shooter since 2003, I have always found this EF 50mm f1.8 STM to be one of the best Nifty50 lenses ever made of any brand. Its almost too good. I even kept it over the 50L as I just didnt find the L version to be thaaaaaaat much better (it was, but then again the Sigma 50 ART was even better). I have used the FD 50mm f1.8 on both Canon and Sony mirrorless and find it to be kind of a boring lens. Its ok for the price like $50 sometimes less is a bargain but then again you can usually the the FD 50mm f1.4 for about $100 and that lens is great (for a vintage)
