    It wasn't until last year that I started demanding respect and refused to be nice to others if they wouldn't be nice to me, that was necessary for the to take me seriously

    • @geometricart7851
      @geometricart7851 4 года назад +10

      If someone doesn't reciprocate they shouldn't be in your circle. Let them be, they aren't worth the time to convince or "demanding respect" from. You aren't going to win everyone's heart. I learned that a long time ago. Earning respect from someone is a lot different than demanding it from them. In the 1st they see something in your ethos and want to better themselves. And will bend-over backwards to help you and 2nd is bulling them into compliance with your wishes especially if you're an authority figure to them and if you are that just gets them to find other people up the ladder to get around talking to you or doing just enough by you to not get fired. Sorry if I went on a rant :) I think I know what you meant. You just want to show people who would otherwise take advantage of your good nature that you aren't someone to mess with. It's like putting up a security sign in the front window of your house to deter intruders.

    I find it interesting that some people in the comments just can't let something be for men without asking for a female equivalent. It's ok for men to have something of their own. Having said that I'm sure he won't leave the women out. It's nice to see one just for men though.

      @@matildecestoni5021"Masculine" and "feminine" energy does not refer to gender. Consider them metaphors.
      You live through your body and gender is part of your body. It's as much of an illusion as being in your body. Just as real as the fact that you exist on a material plane.

    This is a magnificant meditation, addresses a lot of rigth on issues. I was hoping you might consider doing a meditration which addresses the closing thoughts on this meditation. That being "What do I like about this person. And What Can I learn From This Person". I feel a follow up meditation that addressed these two thoughts would really tie into the theme of the No More Mister Nice Guy meditation nicely. Thank you for your work, it is helping a lot of people.

I even scrolled past it a few times thinking "why would I want to stop being nice?" but glad after a few times I gave it a go and bought Dr Glover's book. I was originally looking for hypnosis on drug addiction but by going into this is slowly getting to the bottom of the behavior before the drugs came in, although I don't think I've made it past 15 minutes without sleeping.

    • @blackstream2572
      @blackstream2572 5 лет назад +23

      @Dogman It's a problem when the need to be a good girl/guy coerces you from doing the right or correct thing for either yourself or for them. A good girl could lead people on she's not interested in because she's afraid of hurting their feelings. A good girl might avoid bringing to attention her needs or boundaries that are being crossed because conflict is the opposite of people pleasing. She might hold in anger and resentment until it explodes. She might be nice and giving to the point of being self-sacrificing, not because she genuinely wants to, but because she feels obligated to. And now imagine finding out that the person who was so nice to you was only doing it because she was too afraid to let you know what she was really feeling. That there was some problem that was tearing her up making her feel worse and worse when you thought everything was fine, something you would have been happy to do something about but you never got a chance to because she was too busy being a 'good girl' to communicate her needs. Being a 'nice guy' or 'good girl' is more than just being nice or good, it's when you feel compelled to be that way even when you shouldn't. Being cognizant of the other person's feelings and being assertive enough to communicate and protect your personal boundaries is important for everyone, guy or girl.

      "Nice guy" syndrome is just a male version of people pleaser lol. So yes this can apply to both women and men. A healthy person is more in the middle ground. Not too giving, but also not to the point of being a jerk. Being able to be kind to others while still being true to yourself. That's what I believe meditation does for everyone. Helps find the middle ground. Men do have it harder though as we are expected to pretty much be superficially "strong" and have no emotions. So the "nice guy" is more frowned upon then the "nice girl".

I know you likely wish to branch out, but so many others have agreed with me, that the rain along with the perfect comforting monologue is our favorite one! Here's another request from my other sorority sisters: Would you do another Sleep Hypnosis for Cosmic Voyage Dreaming? That is the 2nd one we listen to at night. I love Cosmic Voyage so much bc It leaves so much room for imagination, and it quickly and easily puts me into a deep trance state that I never knew the mind was capable of! Thank you for all your work, it's amazing. I rarely use anyone else' work. I wonder...did you ever imagine this would be your path in life? Comforting others (many others! 236,000+ many more) using hypnosis? Maybe u found your soul purpose. It seems like it is, and you are a blessed man to find your purpose! Sending gratitude and much love and happiness your way! Kristy :D

    Could you do a female version of this video? It would be greatly appreciated. I would also like to ask again for one for trichtillomania and/or compulsory stress related behaviors.

    I am a female, and everything said in this session is exactly what I am, how I feel, how I act, how I think......so maybe this session can be for both sexes, not just for males. A vast amount of females are struggling with the "nice guy" syndrome as well.

    Thank you for this work Michael. I have come to learn that I never learned how to express healthy aggression or stand up for myself. I went to talk therapy for over twenty years. Worthless therapist after worthless therapist, of both sexes, not only did not address the real problem, but they continued to actively shame my manhood and condition me to suppress my rage. Our male-demonizing, emotionally ignorant culture is disgusting, and I am one of its chief victims. But this hypnosis video helped so much. I couldn't even listen to the whole thing the first time, it was so painful. But last night I finally did and I felt hope. Anger and rage are there to help us survive the onslaught of boundary-breaking weirdos all around us. It is natural and okay to aggress in healthy ways to get them to back off. This is why the anti-bullying movement is so fabulously dangerous--it teaches little boys that they never have to learn to protect themselves and worse, if they do attempt to protect themselves, they will be punished!

      I hated therapy too. It was just me talking with no practical “action” being done minus me giving up my debit card. I found so much freedom in action. If I see a girl, talk to her. Hate your job, then actively seek another. Want to be wealthy, then read about stocks and investing and then apply what you learned. Men analyze crap way too much, which is not good for our psyche. Men feel more relaxed and “tougher” as we face challengers.

    I think what they mean is it's ok to be a nice guy if everything is going well; however, if you're smoothing out conflicts, either between two other people or someone who is mad at you, and never express your own disapproval, people will suspect you're superficial and aren't reacting in a normal way.
