There was a lot of information to cover on this camera and I know I didn’t cover everything. Let me know what additional questions you have and I’ll try to cover it in a follow up video.
Hi Steve, nice video. With regards to downloading longer clips from your playback, you can press the video camera icon (around 10:46 to the left of 'low') it will then record as long as you need then press the video icon again to stop recording. Clip will be on your phone.
I wasn't expecting such a thorough and well presented review. I'm having some trouble figuring Argus 2 out. I'm not sure this video helped me with my specific problems , but it did give me a great overview. thanks.
Do use the desktop app of Reolink for downloading and scrolling through recordings. You will see thumbnails of each clip, plus you can download long clips/ all in one time. I'm buying this camera after your review (thank you for that) and add it to 6 poe cameras and one wifi (indoor) pan tilt. All Reolink. At our primary residence I have more Reolink, loading all on my Synology NAS
Also Reolink have a pretty handy web interface for your cameras on your network. Bit easier when playing with clips. I have 5 Reolink installed cameras, two Argus 2 and three POE's in various places around the house. I have found them to be excellent value for money.
Argus 3 releasing in the next month or two. It adds a spotlight and a 3 second pre-recording, both great features. Pre-recording is all that is missing from the Eufy cams right now.
I have two of these one in direct sunlight all day the other gets 3/4 of the day direct sunlight and I have have never had any issue with power. In fact I cant remember seeing it not at 100%. I don't watch them continually but for general use its great. I also have 3 POE Reolink cameras up and they are excellent as well.
Good video Steve, very informative. I have one of these cameras at home with the solar charger. I have found that since it is a wireless camera that is motion activated, it tends to miss the first couple of seconds of recording in all the clips. I don't think that's a good thing when it comes to a security camera. I have also found that the microphone on the camera is garbage, you can stand next to the camera and not hear the person speaking to you.
Great video. I think I did not see activity zones selection setting. Am I right? Does that mean it will activate potentially anytime there is tree branch movement, or is it PIR sensor that will activate only when heated up moving object enters the area?
I have the Argus 3 ...and these cameras are a pain to keep having to connect to wifi once the connection drops. I physically have to go outside and reset the camera by pressing the pinhole on the camera then scanning the barcode on the camera with the phone app and so on. The cameras would be great if they automatically reconnected instead of having to go thru all those steps after the cameras have been installed.
Great video Steve as always, but please BEWARE these battery operated camera from Reolink ARN’T WORTH the money. Reason because I’ve had a few of their battery operated cameras and two of my Reolink Argus Eco’s have completely stopped working only after 6 and 10 months. Customer support is mediocre the technicians Don’t know what they’re doing, but the RMA team is rather good. Just wanted to put my two cents in so that you would know how they operate in the longish run.
Can you set the Argus 2 (or any Reolink models) to auto arm when you leave your house?? I have older Arlo cams I’d like to replace and this feature is great when you get a certain distance away
Dear Steve, I have such a bad experience for returning Reolink products. They asked me to ship the products that I want to return to Germany which costs more than the cost that I paid for Reolink Argus 2 itself. This is really unfair. Can you please advise. Thank you so much.
The camera alone was $200+ when it premiered. The current price is good for what your getting. But I think Reolink is struggling compared to the competition.
These cameras are junk. Nothing but issues over and over. Playback sucks. Audio sucks. Would never recommend or buy them sgain ! I'm very disappointed.

Hey great review!
Can you show this and the eufy side by side in a audio and video shootout?
Great idea.

We are considering putting this on our RV. Can you run two or three of them off of a hot spot? We often times boondock and do not have WiFi
@@SteveDOES Does this camera detect motion say 40+ feet away, if not is there one you've come across that does?

Greal review!
It was surprising to see how much better it was compared to the ring stick up cam.
Yea, i was really happy with the quality the Argus 2 was producing.
Nice vid, what is the battery Life wo solar panel? Any idea about WiFi range?

That's good to know. I'll have to check out the web interface.

Glad it was helpful!
Good video. I would love to know more about the solar panel and effectiveness of using that as a power source.

as soon as I add the battery my camera just makes a noise ~ what have I done wrong?

My Camera has about an 8 second delay in 1080p on livestream? Why is that? I have decent Internet too
Can I use my own power pack? (Solar + battery)
How waterproof?
Range?
Is external antenna port provided?
Can you use this camera without wifi with the SD card ?
Why can’t I movie it left to right?

Do you need home wifi or wifi from your phone?
very cool...nice work on the video
Thanks Bosko!
Can you run this without WiFi?
Can I use this off my hotspot?
have you done a review on FrontPoint Security yet?
That will be posted on Reviews.org's channel next month.

Yikes, I buy everything on Amazon to avoid situations like that. Sorry you had to go through that.
buy on amazon next time never direct with international product suppliers

Steve, do you know the maximum size of SD card the Argus 2 can use?
Unfortunately i don't. Sorry.
I read only 64gb
I have this camera and I don’t like the motion sensor. It triggers by shadows and I cant use it as a security camera when I left my home
9:09 The moment he realized his Ring camera was crap :)
I love my argo 2, so the argo 3 is coming? great lol
Do you get notifications if motion is activated and it catches something going on?
Yes
I can't get mine to connect to WIFI. Will probably return in a few days. Support is Awful.
Try your router settings. Might be your 2.4ghz band is off? It happened to me in UK with another product which could not pick 2.4ghz.
