I swing between modern skincare/haircare and simple historic methods every few years it seems. I want to give my full effort to having a simple more natural routine like yours. My a lot of very fine yet wavy/curly hair that's finally shoulder length long, so I feel like I'll be able to braid it and keep it more protected as I grow it out. I'm kinda bummed I just bought a bunch of japanese hair care that I have to finish first lol.
The Japanese hair care sounds interesting! When I first started this, I remember using up products I had already bought too. Lol. It is a process switching and there’s a lot of trial and error to find what works for each hair type. It does seem like braiding is universally beneficial, I noticed it helps a lot when growing long hair. Thanks so much for sharing! 🌸🩷
I’m now washing my hair every 10 days taking crystal form MSM and vitamin c by Nutricost with it. My hair is to the middle of my back now. I don’t trim it at least I haven’t for a longtime. Boil Rosemary, bay leaves, coffee beans castor oil cloves anise and I will do a rinse save the rest and spritz hair couple times a day with it. I keep it refrigerated.
That rinse you make sounds great! Thanks so much for sharing the tips!
You are welcome!I love your hair 😃
I take msm crystals as well but not all the time. I get too hairy if I do, Mediterranean and such. 😂
I just found your channel! You have beautiful hair. Mine is very thin/fine but I've been growing it long for years now. It's always interesting to see what others are doing with their hair and what works for them. ❤
Thank you so much! I’m glad you found my channel. Nice to meet you. Your hair looks beautiful! 🩷
Thank you, Sarah! 💕
I have a similar hair texture! I pretty much only brush/detangle my hair before I shower and any time I brush it I make sure I have a detangling product or oil in my hair! My hair is past shoulder length and my goal is mid back!
Nice we have similar hair texture! I need to make sure to have some sort of detangling or oil when I comb my hair; thanks for the reminder! Best wishes with your hair length goal! 🤗
Thank you! Beautiful hair and helpful video. If you fancy trying something new for the ends - I would recommend shea butter - or making a 'hair butter' with shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter and other oils like argan, olive etc plus essential oils that moisturise hair, like rose, sandalwood, yarrow etc. Putting this on the ends really helped seal them for me, it's worked better than anything else.
That is a great idea! Thank you so much for the tips and comment! 🩷
I've got whispy ends too and I couldn't believe the difference, I thought it would be too heavy for my hair. Thanks also for the photo comparison that shows dates, I know what to strive for now@@StarlightSarah2021 🤍
@@QueenViktorI’m looking forward to trying it. Thanks again. And I’m glad you found the photo comparison with dates helpful! 💖
You have wonderful hair. I appreciate that you grow it super long. Where do you come from?
Thank you so much for the comment. I’m of mixed ancestry, mostly: Italian, French, Spanish, Scottish, English, and Native American.

Thank you! And God bless you, too. 🩷
How did you achieve that lenght in 2 years? Please make a video 😊
Thanks for the comment! I certainly will make a summary video. I have a few videos on my channel about my basic haircare routine, but I will make one with all the info in one video. I will work on filming it this month. Thanks for the suggestion!
very pretty hair ❤
That is so nice of you to say. Thank you! ❤️
Your hair is wavy, then it is better to comb it only wet with conditioner in it, and not dry.
Thank you!
@@StarlightSarah2021- I personally do both, I gently detangle in the shower with conditioner (I’ve seen people detangle, then shampoo and then condition again, but I just shampoo and condition my hair, detangle, and let it sit while I wash my body), and then I gently brush it while I rinse off the conditioner, to ensure everything is getting soaked and rinsed. After the shower, I do brush it gently when wet, since I style it. If I weren’t styling it, I would just put my oil, gently braid it (since I already detangled it in the shower, both before and after I conditioned), and once it’s air dried (I prefer to air dry my hair regardless so this is what I also do when styling), I like to oil it lightly, especially and mainly at the ends. Afterwards, i gently comb my scalp with my wooden comb (to stimulate it/massage it, and it helps give me more volume), and gently brush my hair (length to root). I also have wavy hair with some loose ringlets, and before I got it dyed, I had no problem with the cast most styling products (gel and mousse) would give me, however afterwards the damage that had been done, it has made it very difficult to scrunch or get rid of the cast in my hair completely with oil. No matter if I tried less or lighter products, I would always find some parts of my hair, especially the ends, just very stiff and dry and a cast. So, to give my hair a softer look and feel like hair, I do also gently brush it out with my comb and add a bit of oil at the ends again if it’s a bit too frizzy for me. Sorry for the long comment, just wanted to provide another view of brushing wavy/curly hair when dry, as I know it’s a very unpopular opinion in the community, especially hair. I really hope this helps and just remember that you know your hair best, and what works for you is always going to be the best and most trustworthy since it’s your hair. I’ve tried not brushing it when wet in the shower and lost more hair at that time, which is why I experimented and found what works for me. Sorry again for the long comment, just wanted to provide that it can be ok to dry brush wavy hair, just be gentle
Don’t apologize for the longer comment, I really appreciate it! It is so helpful to hear about your routine and it sounds like we have similarities with our hair type. Thank you so much! 🩷🩷
Honestly curly hair is WAY more fragile when it’s wet. Combing while wet will break hair but you won’t even feel it. Finger comb if you must but the curly girl method isn’t good for growing really long hair. I know. Trust me on that.
This is very helpful, thank you!
How often do you wash it, mine gets really greasy after 3 days 😭😭
I know the feeling, ugh! I wash mine twice a week: every 3-4 days. It took a little while for it to adapt to natural hair wash after using shampoo, but now twice a week is working great and it feels clean. Since I workout and have an active lifestyle, I doubt I will ever wash it less than twice a week. In the summer when it’s hot, I usually keep it in braided hairstyles, so then if I need to rinse it out between washings, I can easily rinse it with water mixed with an essential oil of choice. Thanks for the comment and feel free to share your progress! 🩷

Years ago I paid more than I cared to for a boar brush, only to be very disappointed.
Some of them are so pricey. I agree, after using them for awhile, I tossed the two I had. There’s so much hype about them, and that’s great they work for some people, but I ended up just finding them hard to clean and also they ended up being too rough on my hair, especially as it’s gotten longer.
