It takes in general three to five months to heal from a broken bone, and of course it depends on the severity of the injury and the nature of the reconstruction. Additional factors may include some patient factors, for example if the patient is a smoker, if they have diabetes or any other health issues, it may impact the healing as well. If someone has an ankle fracture that is not too severe, they can probably heal and get them back to what they were doing before roughly in about four months. If you have more of a complex pelvic fracture or an acetabulum fracture, now you are talking about a six, to eight to even ten month recovery process. So the more complex the injury is, the more severe the injury is, that has a direct impact on the length of time that bone takes to heal.

Thank you... I appreciate being direct and right to the point. Time is valuable and I appreciate not wasting it on unimportant dialogue... It's been a little over 3 months since my comminuted femur fracture however I smoked nearly 2 packs of cigarettes a day and I think that's delayed my recovery. I'm down to a few cigarettes a day now and that's helped along the calcium supplements significantly I believe. Walkers and wheelchairs suck!! And I now have a new found respect for anyone going through the struggle. 🙏

Comminuted minimally displaced fracture of the calcaneum extending from the tuberosity posteriorly to the subtalar articulation.
Intra-articular minimally displaced fracture through the base of the little toe metatarsal. In accordance with the 5th metatarsal fracture. Not sure how revoery is but all painful and feels loose when moving off the ground and the heel feels awful when trying to apply pressure - how you doing now?
Broke my radius in my wrist. Been 4 months and it’s a struggle. No strength and I’m a very healthy active person

All very painful espcially when swelling if i try to move aorund no surgery may need it, my friends have said that i need one and will be out for a while i play bowling - love walking......this does not help at all.
Can anyone simplify the above of medical terms my GP says there is mutliple breaks but that is it! Not sure what to do. Whether keeping it off ground is doing good to wait additonally for an appt!?

My podiatrist showed me a very clean small crack and put me in a boot for 3 wks; i go back in 2 days...wonderin if that means I can be done w boot?

I broke my right hand well cracked it.. my whole hand is still somewhat swollen idk if it will go back to normal someone lemme know how long it would take thanks...

@@azmathkhan6409 hey bro thanks for replying, my hand is now somewhat healed meaning I don't have to use a splint anymore.. it took like 8 weeks for it to come off.. my hand looks a tad bit different like some portion of my palm on my right hand the upper bit is swollen now.. it feels weird for me to do push-ups now like my hand feels a tiny bit stiff.
But other than that I am pretty much mobile of my hand now it's all just a matter of time that the new bone gets adjusted to my hands motions.. 😵

Omg idk how this happened to me doctor said I have a large bone bruise and a lot more fragments on my knee I’m 30 years old and idk how my knee got dislocated I only got in the car and boom it snapped 😢😢😢

I broke my ankle and had surgery about a month and a half ago,and am healthy need to know how long it takes to heal.
I broke my ankle 3 months ago. No need for surgery, was put on a cast for 2 and a half months and now I'll be doing a CT scan because my bone isn't healing. I have no pain, I can already walk with no crutches but like I said, my bone isn't healing and can break again at any time. With the CT the doctor will see if the fracture isn't healing at all or if it's just healing too slowly. In case it isn't healing at all, I'll have to get surgery and have a bone graft. It really sucks.

im a 23 male non-smoker/vaper/drinker had a bike accident fracturing humerus and tibia, tibia was plastered while humerus has fixated with plate and 6 screws, tibia united in 5 months whereas humerus plate broke after 7 months, had another surgery with bone graft new plate and 8 screws, been 6 months and doctor has prescribed terifrac injections everyday, + calcium+d3+ multivitamins + arm brace. i have been set back more than a year can't work as cannot travel, running outta savings. SHOULD I BE WORRIED OF NON-UNION OR IS THIS MUCH TIME NORMAL? I STILL HAVE GAP IN THE FRACTURE SITE.
