The glass barrier is usually placed in the cities when a road with heavy traffic is going through them and it's for stopping the noise it is also used as a wind barrier and the black birds are placed to signal the real birds to don't crash into it because it's transparent
Too bad the traffic lights don't do that here in America.. Green > Yellow > Red > Green > so on... is what happens in America. in Europe, Green > Yellow > Red > Red + Yellow(1) > Green > so on... (1) not in every eu country
You answered a question for me about hired drivers in this video that I was planning to ask you. Thanks for all that I've learned from you about ETS2 and for all the times you've made me laugh!! Happy Trucking.
At 11:10 you see a machine on a flat bed of a semi . What you are looking at is a container handler. It is used to load and unload shipping containers. It is a OK model sizes are way out of proportion. The arm piece is a head that attaches to the top of the container so you can move it. I drive one at work and ya it's hell of a lot of fun to drive.
Hey Squirrel, if you still don't know what the glass at 05:45 is for, it's for the noise from the cars on the highway. They install the glass so that the noise doesn't bother the residents.
Been playing the demo and will be buying the game this week all because of you Squirrel! Hope you're getting some kind of commission ; ) After I got it setup to use mouse steering it was much easier to drive than "steering buttons" lol. I can see wanting to pickup a wheel and pedals in the future. I'm glad to see a tuber thats into these types of sims. Thanks Squirrel!
squirrel, Best-driver-01 here, and thought i'd let you know that the "combine" is infact an automatic square baler. its used after harvesting to gather up hay and bale it.
What you've said about insurance and maintenance and ways for you to "spend/lose" money is pretty much what I've been dying to have in the game. The more trucks you have, the more you spend on them. And there really should be difficult roads to drive along as well as tighter delivery areas, something to add a challenge.
In Norway they tend to use the bigger engines. They use tend to use the R620, and the R560 on the Scanias. And for the Volvos they use 600, 700 and 750 some of them 540.
Also ,, I had a friend in California right next to the freeway and those walls also keep a lot of the exhaust wind from just blowing into your homes, even then they had to clean and paint 1 time a year,, gray, gray gray!! :D
those transparent barriers are acoustic barriers, as someone said to prevent sound of heavy traffic roads to get through a city, but also seen when a road is going through a wildlife preservation area, so it doesnt make animals go far away due the road noise. as for your google+ page, why not use for a squirrels mod selection, where you provide a short description of a mod you like, and with it create a favorite mods list? keep up with the great vids john. :)
I think there should also be an option to get a cheaper used truck, but at the same time it would cost you more in maintenance, as its just more worn out. I think the biggest engine in a truck that my father had back in the day and was a 480. A few of my drivers get over £100,000 per day on Euro Truck. Really good, and I'm not complaining. No money mods either Good luck with you job, and I hope you have a good Christmas :)
squirrel, the glass wall along the side of the road are meant to block the sounds from all the cars en trucks driving on that road, so that people who live nearby that road don't get woken up early in the morning or can't get to sleep because of the noise from the traffic. :)
glass on the side of the road reduces the noise from the road. It is more usual where there are houses. Doesn't seem like SCS got it a bit wrong though, as there are no houses around where the glass was. Just another road.
The so called "glass" is actually not glass. It's there to stop noise pollution and the drawings of birds are for real birds not to hit it. Love the video as always.
Very true squirrel, a guy who lives near where i live started off with one gravel truck like 10 years ago now he has around 30 trucks and heavy equipment as well, just basic multiplication really i guess.
I wish there were traffic jams on highways in this game. Not in a way that if you drive from Amsterdam to Budapest all you see is a traffic jam, but every now and then would suddenly spice things up if you are like me and like to speed a lot with the truck. Sudden traffic jams would create extra problem that would require some interesting solutions. Like driving 160 km/h on a straight and seeing traffic stopped in front of you XD
just to note on what you said about BF4, if your client crashes your progress and unlocks do not go away, once the round on that server has ended you'll still get all your xp. however, if the server crashes then you're screwed. and ofc battlelog is kinda buggy and might undo some of your unlocks sometimes which does suck.
If there is no sign about giving way it's the "right hand rule" that determines it: cars on your right have the right of way. This might actually result in a deadlock if cars arrive simultaneously from all four directions.
just a windbreaker type thing and safety thing, its not uncommon but usually on the top section is transparent, usually just white or grey or something
My career account is at level 29 and my company is making 7+ million per week of in-game time. I am not sure how people require cheats for money. It is difficult at the start to build up a bank but once you get 13 or so drivers in your company, the money just snowballs. I agree that mid game and end game need more of a challenge. I think adding emergency vehicles into the game would add some fun to the drives.
It would make the game better if you had competition, and then tender for contracts to transport for companies to certain destinations for example. This would make the management and economy part of the game more interesting. Then you'd have to manage loads and drivers maybe subcontract to players looking for work. owning trailers would be great too. You have to own the trailer to do the work.
Those VOLVO buses are really good. We have them in our city as transport and I really like them. Before them we had crappy buses. But now I'm starting to use bus more and more again and I drive my car less in the city.
My wishlist for ETS2/ATS 1. Damage modeling 2. Random break downs (ie Flat tires, overheating, stuff like that) 3. Random events (traffic jams, loose loads) 4. Employee driver events (wreck trucks, fines, and the like)
And for bosses or server hosts I would set a minimum requirement of min. 90% map explored and min. 150000km driven. To minimize the demand on host servers for the ones who take it seriously. And those who just want to have a good drive, a good time, they could be employees who join the server hosts. Or you can have other requirements for bosses. The main thing is to control the number of companies, basically. And to keep some kind of order and discipline.
Sweet parking Squirrel! If you want to try a different truck just for one session, try the Ural 43202 by Ekualizer. It worked for me in TSM and didn't overwrite any other trucks, but it is loud! ;) I still have the boxed TTD game and remember it well, great game. Thanks for your vids, very watchable...
I've seen those exact walls on the freeways of Austria. I'm guessing they are windwalls because they were around the areas where you could see loads of wind turbines.
That give way thing at 19:50 is at all intersection in the game, even in the UK. Its something which has led to me being smashed into by lorries and cars on more than one occasion. Numerous words are then said as I look at my load's damage... none are pleasant.
Hey Squirrel, If you want more of a challenge, you could change the income factor rate in the config file per profile. "There is config variable in console "g_income_factor", that can lower job income of you and your drivers for more challenge. Range is 0.0 to 1.0 (default value is 1.0)" -1.4.1 Release Notes
Sorry Squirrel but i have found this mod too, so the Volvo i try is Black inside too. By the way i love that new Squirrel skin. Now i just have to fix it so it can come on other trucks os my hole fleet can have it. By the awesome video as always.
at 24 40 thsnks squiz great video as usual after this had other things to do but going too see if I can start hiring drivers n get my 1st Renault lol not scania truck thanks for tip once again have great night everyone :)
In Denmark we don't have a give way sign, it's just something you need to know. Though the person from the right always has the right to drive first if there is no sign saying otherwise.
If the income is getting to unrealistically high you might try using the command code: g_income_factor. I use "g_income_factor 0.5" for 50% income. It adds a bit of difficulty especially since the fines and crash damage are still high.
No we cant bOwToMeEo we have to stop at all the red lights shown btw paul keep up the good work love watchin your videos your funny and make me giggle like a lil school boy
Agree more game mechanics would be nice: Company Reputation could be built into the game, so you have to bid on contracts where you agree a cost per mile etc and all sorts of things effect your reputation so late timed deliveries, dirty trucks, accidents and this all works towards a company hiring you to deliver their goods. So you need a certain level of rep to get the good trailers or the nice branded companies. If they can't do damage modelling, as a stop gap should get dirtier over time, so using windscreen washers to clear grime on the windows and you need to wash the truck and trailer to keep up your reputation. Refuelling should add a tank for AdBlue - additive used in trucks to lower emissions. Company should have to pay truck tax based on emissions and efficient driving, so replacing and maintaining trucks would be more important. Inspection of truck should be part of the sim, so a quick tour of the vehicle to check oil, water, tyres, washer fluid, lights, wheel nuts, straps are secure. Another simple mini game/sim element but all part of driving a truck. Random failures so light bulbs, abs failure, windscreen wiper blade issue, punctures, electric issues again add to the simulator element. Refrigerator trucks - so you have to manage goods in the trailer, and keep the trailer's fuel for its generator topped up. Simple additional simulator options and panels but all adds to the game. Hook up the trailer to the ferry electrics when onboard. Forklift mini game might be fun too, so you can choose to drive a forklift and load up certain vehicles for more xp. Just some thoughts off the top of my head. I'm all for a fully simulator version of Euro Truck.
The glass barrier is usually placed in the cities when a road with heavy traffic is going through them and it's for stopping the noise it is also used as a wind barrier and the black birds are placed to signal the real birds to don't crash into it because it's transparent
Do all traffic lights do that in Europe, where it turns yellow before it turns green. Pretty handy, i like it.
traffic lights in Thailand have timers on them. As in, everyone can see exactly how long a red/green light will stay on.
Too bad the traffic lights don't do that here in America..
Green > Yellow > Red > Green > so on...
is what happens in America.
in Europe,
Green > Yellow > Red > Red + Yellow(1) > Green > so on...
(1) not in every eu country
Yeah they do it can be annoying sometimes
Rex Regum yep
"Hi guys! Squirrel here!" is the most greatest word to hear in RUclips for me! :D
You answered a question for me about hired drivers in this video that I was planning to ask you. Thanks for all that I've learned from you about ETS2 and for all the times you've made me laugh!! Happy Trucking.
Well in London most buses I see are less than half full for 90% of the day
i think that glass is a noise barrier, we have those in canada, but its concrete instead of glass
im down in nova scotia and we dont have any here as far as i know but i can see how the bigger citys like vancouver would have those
Yeah I have those to separate the highway and the inner road
It's a noise barrier, it just happens to be clear. We have them made of a number of different materials here in Ohio, USA.
At 11:10 you see a machine on a flat bed of a semi . What you are looking at is a container handler. 41:39 "Yazoo, YAZOO!!" lol :)
I drove one for most of last Sunday's stream. You should pop in some time =)
🚛
Hey Squirrel, if you still don't know what the glass at 05:45 is for, it's for the noise from the cars on the highway. They install the glass so that the noise doesn't bother the residents.
I was tempted all the way through to jump into ETS 2 and by a beautiful Volvo! I just ;love them
i didnt mean to put a ; :-{(
Been playing the demo and will be buying the game this week all because of you Squirrel! loving the trailer mods the baler, the rollers, the reach stacker, the crane etc
To answer you question about the glass walls - in the UK they are used as a sound barrier and also as a wind break as well
That red bridge looked like DNA. I also noticed that the bus was a Volvo. Keep doing more trailer mods and American trucks. Your videos are great!!
Awesome work Paul! That truck is a beauty!
squirrel, Best-driver-01 here, and thought i'd let you know that the "combine" is infact an automatic square baler. its used after harvesting to gather up hay and bale it.
The glass is just a sound breaker and yes they are real. By the way, love your vids and keep truckin'!
What you've said about insurance and maintenance and ways for you to "spend/lose" money is pretty much what I've been dying to have in the game. The more trucks you have, the more you spend on them. And there really should be difficult roads to drive along as well as tighter delivery areas, something to add a challenge.
The glass is for wind and decoration. Cities like Hong Kong have them as well down the middle of the motorway.
In Norway they tend to use the bigger engines. They use tend to use the R620, and the R560 on the Scanias. And for the Volvos they use 600, 700 and 750 some of them 540.
I used to work for K+N here in the UK, it is a massive logistics company.
at 19:15 if you have no sign in a junction, you have to give way for the cars that come from the right hand side. At least in hungary.
Also ,, I had a friend in California right next to the freeway and those walls also keep a lot of the exhaust wind from just blowing into your homes, even then they had to clean and paint 1 time a year,, gray, gray gray!! :D

keep up with the great vids john. :)
I think that would be a brilliant idea! Also being able to work with a friend and convoy with each other that would be a lot of fun :D
Squirrel - The glass is there to reduce the noise comming from the hightway.
Otherwise it would be very noise to be in the city.
I think there should also be an option to get a cheaper used truck, but at the same time it would cost you more in maintenance, as its just more worn out.
I think the biggest engine in a truck that my father had back in the day and was a 480.

Good luck with you job, and I hope you have a good Christmas :)
"As you can see, the sun is shining, and the chimneys are polluting the atmosphere"-Best quote ever.

Here in South Africa, Interlink Trailers are the norm so we tend to see 440hp as a minimum but more common is 480-550hp
5:40 "Does anyone know what's it for?" It's to shield the neighbourhood behind it from the traffic noise, mate.
I wish there were traffic jams on highways in this game. Squirrel, I love all of your euro truck videos I play it too.
I think that squirrel likes this volvo as much as his scania!
Also, you should see the 13 in Coventry at 3.05 Mon-Fri. Its so packed you can barely even stand up!
Enjoying your video's DaSquirrelsNuts, I learn so much from you!!! Thanks!!!

Truck looks great Paul! Even after the recent release of some major FPS titles I would still rather play this game! :D

i was watching the stream, it was much better, no offence to paul but its nice being able to talk live and contribute to something
Sweet parking Squirrel!

Yes they have because they think it. looks modern and friendlie!
I've seen those exact walls on the freeways of Austria. I'm guessing they are windwalls because they were around the areas where you could see loads of wind turbines.
EZ Mode its a sound barrier
About the country codes... D is Denmark and DE is Germany just so you know.
You deserve WAY more views, squirrel.
That give way thing at 19:50 is at all intersection in the game, even in the UK. Its something which has led to me being smashed into by lorries and cars on more than one occasion. Numerous words are then said as I look at my load's damage... none are pleasant.
Because i am swedish i absolutaly adore volvo and scania so i willdownload the squirrel paint jobs :)

your the best person I have watch on euro truck
Inching forward an inch at a time... Great words...
Sorry Squirrel but i have found this mod too, so the Volvo i try is Black inside too. By the way i love that new Squirrel skin. Now i just have to fix it so it can come on other trucks os my hole fleet can have it. By the awesome video as always.
keep up teh consistency squirrel keep up the great vids
at 24 40 thsnks squiz great video as usual after this had other things to do but going too see if I can start hiring drivers n get my 1st Renault lol not scania truck thanks for tip once again have great night everyone :)
In Portugal we giveaway to vehicles coming from our right, with some exceptions... I think it's more or less the same in other european contries
7:19 Paul look at the other Volvo!!! He has your skin on it :D
Thanks Paul, now I want to play Transport Tycoon Deluxe.
In Denmark we don't have a give way sign, it's just something you need to know.
Though the person from the right always has the right to drive first if there is no sign saying otherwise.
Nice interior mod, I've got a carbon fibre one that looks pretty similar
The truck that was pulling the combine harverster was a daf.
If the income is getting to unrealistically high you might try using the command code: g_income_factor.
I use "g_income_factor 0.5" for 50% income. It adds a bit of difficulty especially since the fines and crash damage are still high.
We have those all over in sweden. Its both a noise & wind barrier.
19:20
If there aren't any "give-way"- or "priority"-signs cars coming from the right have priority in Germany (and other European countries).
Nice job Paul!
Squirrel, at 9:45 the trailer is a default scs trailer, they just slapped the bus on it
The multiplayer idea is bossssss!!!!
XD You predicted that at the end of the video you would have 1.75 million and indeed at the end of the video you had exactly that XD
its a cool paintjob i have to say
Have to agree with you on making it more of a sim - I've amassed about £5.8M have 78 drivers and am on level 32... not much more to do now.
Awesome vid once again squirrel!
7:19 Squirrel Skin on other truck!!
My dream get a G27 and play ETS2 with it
:'(
Great work Paul
that bus is actually a very accurate interpretation of an MAN bus and the wheels really look like that lol
Better options on Twitch though, like live chat via IRC and raffles etc via MooBot.
The glass things are sound barriers :D most of them are made of acrylic
paul the glass is to reduce sound for people who live in big towns,
good idea i would support that 100%
The Glass is for noise cancellation for the nearby houses.
If you use Hootsuite you can post to Facebook, twitter and google+ at the same time. So one post will be sent to all your "Social Media" sites.
No we cant bOwToMeEo we have to stop at all the red lights shown btw paul keep up the good work love watchin your videos your funny and make me giggle like a lil school boy
The glass is for the noise of the cars and trucks that go by
0:54 I like the interior
that glasswall is a barrier to keep the trafficnoise away from living areas. If you know what I mean?
Someone in my family is called Franciszek!
the glass is nice touch :) if it was in uk it be vandalised sadly probally
Wow, that's really good. I'm lucky if I can get it below 90L/100miles
Agree more game mechanics would be nice:

Just some thoughts off the top of my head. I'm all for a fully simulator version of Euro Truck.
i own the game. im a scania lover like you. i hare the sticky indercators on the man and iveco
hare LOL
About time he gets a volvo in his squad
This game in multi-player would be awesome. All of us on 1 server :-)
