  • The Black River & Western switches tank cars at Three Bridges, where they interchange with NS. On this day, their GP10 is doing the work, along with a former Lehigh Valley boxcar, used as a buffer car. The additional horn towards the end of the video is an NS train approaching the parallel mainline crossing.

    May the shortlines never die ! Good to see enduring shortlines still with customers. I'm sure alot of networking is the driving force in today's economy.

      Yeah, that was pretty cool. If only I'd set up on the other side of the crossing to catch them both...

    I noticed that the ditch lights are not flashing. Is this engine from West coast? They do not flash out here.

    Is the caboose and shed their yard office set up? How many miles of track do they operate?

    • @HighIronProductions
      @HighIronProductions  Год назад +2

      The caboose is used for shove moves. Not sure about the shed, but the railroad has a proper shop and offices at the other end of the line in Ringoes. The railroad is 16 miles long, but only has a couple of customers beyond the area near the interchange shown here.

    When do they run there freight trains? Is it still Wednesday and Saturday?

    • @HighIronProductions
      @HighIronProductions  2 года назад +2

      This was a Saturday morning. I know they changed the schedule since it was routinely Wednesday and Saturday, but I believe they are regularly operating on Saturdays again.
