More climbing only benefits Tadej even more. He not only won, he decimated the field in every mountain stage in both grand tours this year. Plus, in his team, he will be surrounded by a bunch of the best climbers in the world.
Not so sure about that. Vingegaard will be back with a vengeance and the mountain TT on stage 13 could see him take some time over Pogacar. Looks to me like most of the summit finishes happen after stages longer than 180 km, that could favor Vingegaard as well, smaller guys like him don't burn as much energy and usually crack later than punchy rouleurs like Pogacar.
@@FlyingPastillacalling pogacar punchy is hilarious. He had the best 45 minute climbing performances in cycling history this last tour. He’s in the discussion for the best long steep climber ever. Stop oversimplifying
If all the major racers and their teams arrive in top shape and don't get involved in significant crashes, that TDF will not be dominated by Poggi like it happened this 2024. I'm not saying he isn't going to win, but it won't be like this year piece of cake.
Get this into your little peanut of a brain. 7 watts per kilo is the magic number and if your physical conditioning is dialed in you will win. That's currently Pogi for you. Best of luck to the rest getting there.
@@oliverleigh9854 If he is doing those numbers is because others can reach those numbers too. Are you so blinded by fanatism? Jonas was far from the ideal form and even in that context he did some of his best numbers, which means he can perfectly do Pog numbers, and the Visma team was just a shadow of last year's. Now don't confuse this with the notion that Jonas is a full on better rider than Pog, that's not the point. Jonas is completely focused on his climbing potential and that's what he exploits and it is a completely valid approach and everybody should respect that. Pog is a much more all rounder rider and he pursues almost all races. Still I firmly believe Jonas at his full 100% can perfectly crush him on the climbs. Now, Pog had the perfect season this year and the perfect team the entire year. Every team member was in perfect shape just as him. It was the best season the UAE has had and will have for years to come. They must probably will not have a better season never again.
Kind of looks like Giro stuff with heavy mountains packed in second half. Look at stage 14 and then stage 18. Scary for riders but fun for us watching on TV. Can you suggest some good spots to see this live other than Paris?
@@mikeoc217 Yep. Too many forget that TJV had a whole bunch of guys up in the GC that attacked Pogi relentlessly, softening him up for Jonas. Not going to happen again. UAE much smarter this year about sending satellite riders up the road and getting them in the break. WVA was not the game-changer he had been in the past.
Just remember that he decimated the field in every mountain stage in both the Giro and TDF this last year. Pogi won't be cracking in those stages next year, trust me.
@@downbad9066 Idk man, there were quite a lot of hard mountain stages back to back in 2024. The competition was lower but the parcours was tough. In 2025 we have a long hilly first week for sprinters and punchers followed by a short second week with three back to back hard stages one of them being a short TT and a third week that includes a sprint stage only one day after the rest day.

Ventoux, la loze and hautacam. 3 climbs where tadej suffered against jumbo
You're correct against Jumbo a whole team. Those days are over. Tadej's a much better rider with better nutrition & team 👍🏼

Not really he is not even riding any races at all , even the smaller events around the world, like other riders does at the end of the season.
