Just found your channel. I have to say, this is one of the more realistic, if not the most realistic setup I have seen in a while. No nonsense, utilitarian and most importantly: not so overstuffed and brimming with gadgets and gimmicks that you would end up spilling half of the contents of the bag when looking for something. What has been said already is that five torches are maybe a bit much and I would not take as many with me - but hey, who is judging. You do you. If it works for you then there is nothing more to be said. Personally I am not a huge fan of having anything dangle off my bag, therefore I rarely ever use that hook on the strap. All I have ever used it for is a pair of gloves. The keys clanging around all the time would drive me crazy after about 2 minutes. But then I am a bit of a klutz and have a propensity for getting stuff tangled up. I have been rocking the Maxped Jumbo versapack for about a decade now and have zero regrets. Permanent fixtures are: a Fenix PD35 Tac torch - alternatively a Petzl head lamp - phone, pen, keys and company ID, sunglasses, wireless ear buds, power pack and cable, vape, a Trayvax wallet, a water bottle, a shopping net, just in case a surprise grocery run comes up, and the ever trusty Swiss Army Knife. Depending on the season, I also have a Merino hat and buff in there, together with a pair of Marmot convertible windstopper gloves. And there is still room to put stuff in there. In my 10 years of owning a Maxped Jumbo versapack, I can count the number of times where I found myself lacking some item using the fingers on only one hand. On special occasions like music festivals (anyone remember those from the before times? 😛) the loadout might change slightly but you get the gist.
Great kit. However, counting the one in your pocket, I think I counted five flashlights which seems beyond redundancy. Suggest you replace the paracord with some mid-strength bank line as you'll get 50' of it in the same space. I also keep a tiny water filter (See HydroBlu on Amazon) which has been very useful on vacation in other countries. I keep a similar man-bag over the drivers seat in my car and the philosophy is similar to yours. I've got a rule I go by: If I haven't reached for it in two years, it comes out, as I clearly don't need it often enough to bring it every day. My EDC has been reduced to EMC (litterally every minute carry - all except in bed and in the shower) which is a microstream flashlight and a swiss army knife (Explorer or S18). My bag is a bit smaller than yours but I am able to keep it at least half-empty, which allows me to stuff things in if we're walking about on vacation, shopping, etc. (After paying for it, of course. C'mon, man...) Like you, this is in compliment to my GHB which is in the trunk of the car. Did I see a bic lighter? Not sure. I'd add if not there.
The flashlight redundancy is kind of a running joke on the channel. I'm a bit obsessed 🤣👍 your kit sounds sweet. I have the same rule for keeping things. If I don't use it often then it gets replaced with something I will use and if I don't use that then chances are I don't need it or I will toss it and then be looking for it when I need it 🤷🏻♂️🤣 knowing my luck. I keep a little Bic in there somewhere. Heck it's actually been almost 1 year since I actually carried this bag. I've gone through 2 more since. I've gotta make a couple more videos on the newer stuff soon 😎😁👍
Like maxpedition but this bag is expensive. I have a G4Free sling pack that’s a bit bigger than this. I’ve had it for awhile now and so far no problems. The best part is that it cost me $20 on Amazon…..
The bag is pricey for some but the quality long term is where the difference can be seen. I agree that there are some great $20 bags out there and that companies tend to go over board with charging 5 times the price that the bag is worth just because the threw in a few extra stitches and used slightly higher quality material. 🤷🏻♂️ I say use what works best for your daily use. If your not getting deployed over seas then a $20 bag is fine. That's how I use to roll before a lost my mind and started buying the expensive stuff. Now I say buy once and buy it for life. 😎

Rothco or Condor tactical messenger bags are substantially cheaper than Maxpedition bags and last just as long. I've had my Condor messenger bag for over 5 years and it's as good as new.
I've gone through all the cheaper bags when I first got into edc gear. They do get the job done, but for realistic long term use I have noticed the differences between them. Condor make some awesome bags and they are less expensive by far. Maxpedition & vanquest are way more expensive but there are those little things that make all the difference.
Nice gear. Nice vid. BUT...not so crazy about the bag...too many pouches and hooks and loops and rings...too much stuff on the outside. And, it seems to me that there is no cohesive thought behind the contents, just a collection of stuff, thrown together wherever it fits. OK, it's great that you have the IFAK clearly marked on an outside pouch...that's a good start. I like to keep my stuff organized by broad category: I carry something to keep me warm (or cool); something to keep me dry; something to eat; something to drink; something to keep me whole, i.e., first aid, as well as a small number of personal care items; and then a collection of items to keep the whole ship running, like charger, cables, batteries, repair items like duct tape, cordage, thread & needles, zip ties, safety pins, etc., all in a separate small kit. I use the Cannae Optio Sling because it has a few pouches to stay organized, but nothing hanging outside. Nice and sleek, nothing to get caught up on stuff, very plain and no markings, and sits in the small of my back where it rides just right, and is easily drawn around to my front for access. I always have my main EDC on my person, on belt or in pocket: knife, multitool, light, pen, wallet, keys, phone. There are backups in the bag for each, including a transit pass and some cash (OK, no backup phone...). I am not a gun owner, but if I was going to carry, I'd want it on my body, not in my bag...just sayin'. So...yeah...like I said, nice gear, nice video, but in my opinion, you should reorganize your stuff and think in terms of A) systems, B) less obvious outward appearance, and C) a more streamlined bag that sits tight on you and won't shake, rattle and roll if you have to run with it, and won't get caught on a door handle and break your neck. Good luck, bro...
Thanks for the comment. I think it's important to always be evolving. I haven't used this bag since a couple weeks after this video and I actually did slim down the bag and used a more gray man bags as it replacement. I'll be creating a video on the newer bag in the future. Great advice 😎👍
It's so funny to hear Americans talk about EDC's. EDC I'm thinking phone...money...keys.. maybe water, going shopping for few things, picking up your kids, taking a walk. Americans: "...in case you get shot..." 🤣 And check the temperature so you know if it's hot or when you need to drink, hahaha. My body have that feature built in 😂😂
I've lived in 5 different countries and have had a ton of different situations. EDC is basically the same in most parts of the world. Depending on if the country is in trouble or not. EDC are meant to changes upon circumstances.
Cool bag, nice video. But I am not totally on board with organizing of it. You have pouches in pouches with more pouches before ya get to something. Like the first aid kit inside a first aid kid.
Boo boo kits are not trauma kits. Trauma kits are the ones that need to be easy access for quick deployment. I mean you can agree or disagree but this isn't my military deployment bag. This bag is to help average people be more useful. Pouches in pouches is fine as long as you can access your primary tools. Most primary tools should be carried on body. Multitools, knife, flashlight, firearm etc. 75% of civilians don't carry a basic first aid or Trauma kit daily. What's even worse is some folks carry a firearm but no Trauma kit. I'm not worried about digging into a couple pouches to access a battery bank or sewing kit. I rather stuff be secure. It's not like I'm gonna be running from something and need my phone charger 🤷🏻♂️ but you never know.. if I get a paper cut I'm sure I can wait 10 seconds. I have a new bag video coming next week. You might like the set up a bit better. Thanks for watching and stay prepared 😎👍
It's a Pittsburgh non-contact pocket thermometer sold at Harbor Freight for about $15. Best place to buy them as in-store because online they're double price. However I checked the Harbor Freight website and I could not find the thermometer in the search bar. It might be discontinued or an in-store only product now. 🤷🏻♂️
I found the Wolfspur a bit bulky, and oddly less roomy when it came to placement of the flashlight and multitool. I Wolfspur also looks huge next to the fatboy. If the made a hybrid between the wolfspur and the fatboy i would get one. Because i like the materials such as the grab handle and the strap way better on the Wolfspur.
That's why a trauma kit is in my car. I'm rarely in situations that would require me to need gsw medical attention. However when I'm in those situations this is not the bag I would have bring with me. The point of any situational awareness is to stay off the X. You make the calls, you control the situation. Don't get involved in the situation if you don't have at least 50% or more of the situation under control. This bag is for normal everyday situations in a world that requires minimal preparation. I'll be making a video with a different load out this week. It will be a bit more battle ready 😎👍🏼 stay tuned.
I lived in Alaska for a while. 67 days of darkness and 2 weeks without power will have you carrying a flashlight 🔦 for a while longer after its daylight again😁🤘. Also I love flashlights don't shame me 🤣🤣🤣
I have also a small channel of the same size (similar) so I understand how much it is important to subscribe to a channel! I subscribed! Because I liked a lot your video..I am a Prepper and I love Maxpedition eheeheh! Great video brother!
Let me address the elephant in the room. If you like guns, no judgement. But why carry a gun in an EDC bag. A knife or multitool is alot more practical. Makes no sense that's something you carry in an emergency bag if anything. Just saying.
An edc gun should always be carried on body. Second, at the end of the day when you are in a safe location and you want to store the gun you could toss it safely into the edc bag and then it is ready for carrying for the next day or if you run out of the house and grab your edc bag but forget to carry your gun on body at least the gun is in the edc bag so that you can transfer it to on body carry when it is safe to do so. 😎👍🏼 plus everyone's edc is different with similarities. I carry my multi tool in my pocket along with a smaller edc flashlight. I believe calling this particular edc bag an emergency bag isn't exactly accurate. It's more or less a tool kit that would be useful in an emergency but not specific to just emergencies. Besides the actual point of the video is to show what the bags carrying capabilities are, that was the intended take away, of course everyone is allow their own perspective. Thanks for your input though. All perspectives are appreciated. It helps refine our edc methods when we have as much input as possible.
Just imagine you thinking don't need anything to protect yourself and someone comes along knocks YOU right out of your flipflops w/ socks. 😂 Suburban life 😂😂😂 I've been to 30 different countries and serviced my own country. Just imagine what I've seen. Get some perspective.
As a retired Veteran I understand and support this man’s right to carry a firearm, I also carry one and you obviously don’t live in the United States! We do have lots of bad guys who will harm you and your family, This man is very mild as he prefers to use his firearm as a backup to his Pen and Mace, My firearm is my primary self defense, I would only use anything else if my firearm failed to work (very unlikely) life in the U.S. is very different than many countries (I have been to 33 different countries), while it looks nice and civil from the outside the reality is quite different.
This is the bag specifically you bring with a friend to the store... or to town nothing crazy. It has a concealed firearm, bear spray..... 😳 Sounds like you live in zombieville....
I agree, it's a little over the top to carry all this stuff around town. For many of these people its about having the cool gadgets vs actually using them. Ironically I carry a similar loadout but for hiking in the woods where I'm out all day and this stuff is actually useful.
I go on a lot of random adventures. Most couldn't relate, but I'm never unprepared. Saved a couple lives with my edc and helped a lot of other unprepared folks along the way.
@@kurtthecat3995 I agree. I have a small sling bag. It has a lot of gear but it’s more urban oriented like tools, chargers, first aid, miltitool small knife. It has a trauma kit, flashlights and that stuff too but the bag stays in the trunk and I take out what I need besides what I carry on me. I don’t carry the whole pack around with me all day.
For me it was just right at the time. Everyone should always carry what they're capable of handing. Some can handle more than others. Always refine refine refine. This bag review is from 2 years ago. Lots of bags have been shown on the channel since this review. Perhaps you would prefer one of the more slimmed down refined versions of an edg shown in my other videos.

Sweet set up, all ya need and nothing else. Really enjoyed the video. Thanks! 😎🐾👍🏼
Nice set up you got there, keep it up.
Cool video man. Lot of good stuff. But going to day it add a water filter like a life straw is something because that's all you are missing
I keep on of those in my get home bag in my car. 😎👍
@@PreparedGuy come bro put 1 in the bag 😁 finish it
😂 you're right, every bag should have some redundancy. 👍😎 2 is 1 & 1 is none.
@@PreparedGuy thank you. Now an option is to upgrade your water bottle if you want for convenience
Great set up. Cool bag, i think it's the fatboy. Thanks for sharing brother.
👍🏼😎 thanks, Yes it's the fatboy versa
The Paranoia Purse
🤣👍
what thermometer is that?
It's a Pittsburgh non-contact pocket thermometer sold at Harbor Freight for about $15. Best place to buy them as in-store because online they're double price. However I checked the Harbor Freight website and I could not find the thermometer in the search bar. It might be discontinued or an in-store only product now. 🤷🏻♂️
Im sure thats heavy
nice Sling bag ^_^
Wish I can Buy One someday ^_^
Excellent review! Very practical EDC setup. Any particular reason you went from the Wolfspur to this bag?
I found the Wolfspur a bit bulky, and oddly less roomy when it came to placement of the flashlight and multitool.
I Wolfspur also looks huge next to the fatboy. If the made a hybrid between the wolfspur and the fatboy i would get one. Because i like the materials such as the grab handle and the strap way better on the Wolfspur.
great video man thanks helps alot. them zip ties tho lol
Good content you got everything in your bag
Lol. If you get shot? I doubt you'll be able to use this bag
Liked your zip-tie comments
I forgot what I said so I went back and watched it and I had myself a laugh. I forgot that I said that 😂👍
Man bag!?!?!?!?! It's not a man b........ okay, yeah, it is.
Are you afraid of the dark 😅
I lived in Alaska for a while. 67 days of darkness and 2 weeks without power will have you carrying a flashlight 🔦 for a while longer after its daylight again😁🤘. Also I love flashlights don't shame me 🤣🤣🤣
Good overview. Hello from Russia.
Привет 👍🏼😎
Nice bag man, well done
Thank you
I have also a small channel of the same size (similar) so I understand how much it is important to subscribe to a channel! I subscribed! Because I liked a lot your video..I am a Prepper and I love Maxpedition eheeheh! Great video brother!
Thanks for reaching out.
@@PreparedGuy thank you bro for the video! Hope to watch many more of them!
Sub. Good ideas. However, if you were going on a date with a hot girl would you wear that bag? Exactly. Nope. At best, in the car.
If she's really hott then she'll have a better bag than me 😂👍
This is so crazy & American. Just imagine thinking you need this kit every day in the mean streets of suburban life.
Sounds like you live in zombieville....
Too much weight and clutter for small size...
So basically you carry a purse. Cool.
That's one way too look at it. I mean a backpack is kind of a purse as well. At least I'm not wearing sandles with socks and using an iphone giving thumb ups to videos of Biden 🤣
