Okay first of all, THANK YOU!!! My goodness! You have no idea how much digging I had to do for some actual EVERY DAY CARRY ideas. Like genuinely. 99% of all EDC is literally people who, every day, are apparent hunting a grizzly bear, performing literal surgery on themselves, building a cabin in the forest, followed by building tons of fires, filtering water and starting a farm, all with their "EDC kit". I don't know about you, but I ain't doing that shit on a normal day, or any day for that matter. I just wanted to see what people carry on them for the regular day to day use.
Do I want to have a bag for a serious situation where I might have to do some manly ass sh*t to survive? Of course! But I just want to see PRACTICAL EDC where I'm just going to work, going to the store, going downtown for the day, maybe be cute and go for a jog.
Like, if I need more than a small leatherman or a boo boo kit, I am going to have a specific set up for it. No standard person has an EDC like they are about to walk into a warzone. It's a cool hobby, but be realistic. I understand being ready, but people really gotta separate that out!

    • @jito7377
      @jito7377 7 месяцев назад

Yeah, this. It is a shame, that you have to classify the practical part. Many dudes out there are just trending and do not seem to really (=longterm) use their gear.
If anyone knows more creators/video like this please recommend them. A daily usable EDC/EDU should not be as hard to find as it is nowadays.

    • @inkshock
      @inkshock 3 месяца назад

Yep. My EDC is pretty extensive because it is build around the idea of "I leave the house for work, what if I won't come home for the night and need to sleep somewhere else". Which has happened before. So I carry stuff like a toothbrush and basic hygiene things as well. But many EDC videos seem to be tailored around the expectation that civilization collapses within 6 hours and every city and its infrastructure disappears in an instant and you need to be able to build shelter Rambo-like and hunt for food in postapocalyptic wastelands. Spoiler alert, that doesn't even happen in real life warzone situations. Also: the moment someone packs a first aid kit with a tourniquet, I stop the video and leave. There's this weird fetish for tourniquets in the survival-scene, but it is also a very reliable predictor that the person making the video is an idiot.

I suppose the most important thing is to pack items that are the most useful to your lifestyle and circumstances. Seems like quite a few people want you to load up that bag but it is an EDC bag not a backpack. The only thing I recommend is to keep your mask in a Ziploc and your spare in a different Ziploc. They are like a dust magnet and may not be easy to wear when dirty and makes it easier to hand one over to a friend when you aren't touching it and it's sealed up. Other than that, great video, thanks!

The one thing I'm always missing from videos like this: show me what it looks like with your outfit as you're walking around town! Is it stylish? Does the bag flop about or stay put? Is it easy to rotate around to access without taking it off your shoulder? (I know what I need to carry around with me - it's finding the right bag that's the hard part!)

UK friendly EDC, nice. I think we have mostly the same stuff, except I carry a gerber MP600 multi tool - I love it because it's locking for the tools but is bladeless so UK legal. I also carry a small medpack with some basic plasters, paracetamol and immodium (lifesaving when needed :D), and a couple of sanitry pads (because I have a young daughter). I have some thin cordage, duct tape and sewing kit for minor repairs. Oh and a handkerchief because you should never leave home without a hanky.

An empty 5 liter bag from a box of wine doesn't take up much room, but they're strong enough to use as a pillow; and I prefer one of them in a light nylon stuff sack, to any other form of canteen.
My Zippos are edc, with extra flints, wicks, x-acto blades, small sewing needles, a coded credit card number, and a tiny container of lighter fluid. I disguise the credit card number as an address, in case I lose it.
They can burn many kinds of fuels. And their value as trade items has never gone down. Over the years I've bought a lot of Zippos from yard sales for less than a dollar, added a few things to them, and traded them for meals, bus fares, and pocket knives (which had more trade value). Things that were worth a lot more than a dollar.
I like to spend a little more on collector Zippos they don't make anymore. They're easier to trade in an emergency and you can get more for them.
They're easier to sell if you adjust the wicks for tricks, and you can learn how to do that on RUclips.
A tricked out Zippo can earn you drinks at a bar and open the door for conversations when you're stranded.
I've lost money selling gold and silver in hard times. I never lost money selling or trading a Zippo.
If you're starving and trying to sell your lighter for a meal, some people might buy you a meal without taking the lighter.
I'm 63 and grew up homeless. I was raised by hobos, winos, junkies, ex-cons, Vietnam vets, and prostitutes.
I hitch-hiked, hopped freights, and canoed all over America and parts of Canada; and I traveled to other countries.
I've been down to the clothes on my back more times than I can possibly remember...
A Zippo lighter is one of the best things to have on you when you lose everything else.
They can be worth more than cash, and they make great gifts.
I like to carry 2 or 3 of them when I travel.

Hey there. Really appreciate the UK friendly, non-tacticool set up. Few suggestions I haven't seen so far: super glue (1ml mini tube, mine lives with medical stuff), tape (gorilla / duct/ other) and string (paracord is far too thick for this size bag, I use 1mm Dyneema or Kevlar line, a 2 strand cord holds my body weight and 15m worth is a tidy, small coil). In my med kit, I always carry arnica cream for bumps and bruises (it's a lifesaver if you have kids, I do the thing with sealing a small amount in a 1 inch section of a straw, actually old rubber tubing). And finally: in place of a fidget spinner, if I know I'll have time to kill and I won't freak everyone out, then I carry a knot tying reminder card thingy with a 12 inch section of bank line (actually 2 different colour lines joined in the middle), learning/ practising new knots is so much more satisfying than social media or watching videos ;o)

Hello Felix, the bag seems nice, the shopping bag is a great touch, I will include it in my EDC bag too, thanks for the tip! One thing I would recomend is some kind of Multitool, even something like Leatherman Squirt, it's tiny multitool and has scissors build in (so you can skip on clippers). And I also like to include some basic lighter and a little bit of paracord (I once used it more than once, but yesterday I used it when my shoelace broke :D). Anyway great bag full of practical items! :) take care, Cyril.

I'd say you could add a lighter, a small med kit in a zip lock bag, your "spork" could also go in a zip lock bag wrapped in tissues or cut down paper towels to keep it clean and for eating or if you have a bleeder...the moist towelettes you could keep with the meds for after meals or to clean a cut after you used the paper towels...duct tape...good idea not to show your keys...as you know, you can add or reduce your gear(and bag size) depending if you are out and about, a day trip or a longer trip...I have an Eastpak day/back pack in black which is really good...did'nt know they made smaller ones...good job! subbed...

I prefer Anker products and use the Powercore lll USB-C wireless charger which supports my Samsung Galaxy Note 20. The Anker Life P3 USB-C wireless earpods with back up cabled buds. I switch between an Olight S2R ll Baton 18650 and RovyVon Aurora A33 torch depending on what I'm doing. The only extras I carry are the Uncle Bills Sliver Gripper tweezers and a ResQMe glass breaker and belt cutter. My pen is a Zebra F-701 and I carry a Nite Ize inka pen on my keys.

An excellent kit. Particle and actually useful for an urban environment. Too many pack for a disaster and not what would actually be useful in you daily life. The only things I would add is back up cash or credit card and a bit of duct tape. Although with Google Pay your phone is already a back up for your wallet.

Hi ! Thanks for letting me know the contents of your EDC. May I suggest, that you carry "wet wipes" instead of sanitizers. They are very handy in different situations, including cleaning your eye glasses or gadgets.
    Good day !

As much or more stuff than I used to carry in my purse lol. Now I carry my phone in a minimal wallet case with driving licence, credit/debit card, insurance cards, med list, and car insurance card. Disclaimer: I don't work anymore, but when I did, my EDC was considerably more useful than what I carry now.

Firstly, keep all your electronics and cables in a ziploc quart bag, for an obvious reason.
Next, you will probably need wet wipes for general hygiene, basic first aid for minor cuts/wounds, a lighter even if you don't smoke, foldable sports cap, buff, arm socks, mini umbrella or ultralight rain jacket and pants (or poncho if you prefer). And to fit all that in, upgrade to a moderately sized fanny pack (which can also be used as a chest sling bag). If you want to carry a water bottle or vacuum flask, you might need to get a small backpack or messenger bag. The extra "foldable shopping bag" you have should then be of an alternative carry style, that is, pair a backpack with a foldable sling bag, pair a messenger bag with a foldable backpack, because it is not comfortable to carry 2 of the same kind of bags on your shoulders at the same time, if you know what I mean.
And then, I cannot understand the need for such a massive carabiner. To tow a car? I carry 2 small carabiners (6cm) and 2 velcro straps (40cm).

Honestly in my opinion it's too much stuff (unless i am in a rural area on a daily basis) but it's good to have some kind of medical kit. I'd try to get a small pouch just for that sort of essentials that you can fit in there so that's better organized or in your main bag.

Add a lighter, some zip ties, some cash in small denominations (about 20 $, £, €) and a single use/emergency rain poncho/coat. Maybe superglue and a stick of hot glue?

Spare shoelace ?, good quality moisturising lip balm with SPF 15 can be used as ointment for small cuts and scrapes or as sunscreen.
I’m Canadian so well aware that cold dry winter air will suck moisture out of your skin and make you colder like sweating in summer, rub lip balm on exposed skin to reduce heat loss, many other uses…
