  • 2007 Hyundai Accent, Transmission Filter.I had got to the point in the above video & called Hyundai Service to get torque specs on the pan bolts, (7 to 8 lbs (7) I was told that "there was no filter" Hmm I'm staring right at it and have already replaced it, I just need to know what to tighten the bolts down to?!?? Anyway I thought I should make this Lil video (its a bit after every thing was done) but you'll get the idea... Hope this helps, Oh if your still under warranty you'll need to buy the suggested fluid ....IT'S A MUST sorry it's $$$ If your not worried about your warranty then get the fluid made by Castrol made for Honda & Toyota. Thanks & good luck.... OH P.S. Use a Funnel that will fit in the transmission dip stick hole, when filling your transmission with fluid .. also make sure your on level ground, your engine is running, parking break set & your transmission is in {N} when checking fluid levels . on the last quart, pour a little then check! pour a little then check! pour a little then check! (NEVER EVER OVER FILL) you'll blow your seals & that is really really... BAD!... THANK YOU AGAIN ....... it's E.Z.P.Z123Z YOU'LL LIKE DOING THIS PROJECT..

    What kind, ratings, of transmission fluids are acceptable to use for this car? Is a Dexron VI suitable?

    Thanks for posting this. What are the signs that your transmission filter needs to be changed? My Accent jerks into gear about the first 5 minutes of driving then runs smooth after that.

      The is no "sign" for oil changes. If your transmission is acting up it means something is wrong with either the electronic components that controls it (transmission input and output speed sensor or Transmission control module) OR what's worse... your transmission could have some sort of internal damage. It is advisable to change the transmission fluid and filter every 60,000 miles. If you haven't done so, put some lucas transmission fix into it and see if it helps. I have read very good reviews about that particular product. Good luck.

    How often should the transmission fluid be changed?

      It varies from vehicle manufacturer from vehicle manufacturer, but for Hyundais it is 60,000 miles. You should change (not flush) the transmission fluid. Changing it means you remove the oil pan and filter and drain whatever oil is in there (about 2 and a half quarts) then you refil the transmission with the same amount of fluid you took out of it. The transmission flush involves forcing ALL the old fluid out of the transmission and replacing it with new fresh fluid. On older cars it is not advisable to do so as it can cause all sorts of transmission slipage problems because as the internal clutches wear out, the friction material they contain stays suspended in the old fluid and that's what enables your transmission clutches to grasp. But that's only true if your transmission is old or hasn't been serviced regularly.

    Do I need a torque wrench for tje bolts to the transmission pan mine is cracked?

    • @LouPicardo
      @LouPicardo 6 лет назад +1

      Yes, it is very advisable to use a torque wrench for those bolts because during normal operation the transmission heats up quite a bit and if you tighten the bolts too much or too little it can cause leaks in the future. If your pan is cracked check for leaks and replace it if necessary.

    It's a non serviceable part like the fuel filter...

      What do you mean? He said he replaced it; it exists. The fuel filter does not exist, however, you are correct - it uses a fine screen mesh "sock" over the fuel pump pick up in the tank.
