This is how you make a video detailing how to change the fuel filter. thank you very much for all your work.. I have similar problem you detailed and I will be replacing my fuel filter also.
Hi my friend. I have a super Hyundai Accent 2002 1.3lt and this is an awesome car!!! Thanks for the video. I am already subscribed to you channel just because of this. Put more videos related to this fantastic car!! Im gonna change my fuel filter coming soon!!
my 2012 Hyundai Accent has had battery replaced recently but has had two instances since then where engine has turned off while idling. No issues with driving it on highways (drove 100 miles between two cities with no issues) but im paranoid about what might be wrong. Engine does not make any weird sounds. When I started the car again from those two times it stopped, it kinda stuttered shortly but still managed to turn on and I was able to get to where I needed to go. Check engine light is not on. Any ideas if changing fuel filter may fix/prevent these futures stops? Thank you so much for any input.
I'm having the exact same issue with a 2014, but there's nothing to be worried about, I just replaced the bad battery and that's not the issue so I'm running through all the probable causes, for me, I start the car for the first time of the day, starts right up and the battery has a good charge, eventually I make it about 3 miles and it dies on me, then it takes a bunch of cranks to start, and then I can drive for long distance and it doesn't die again, only issue is the rpm gauge isn't working after it dies, I'm going to check the alternator fuse, then the fuel filter/pump, if not any of those, then the alternator
But changing the fuel filter may help with the issues, I recommend starting with the cheapest options unless you can diagnose exactly what's wrong with it
Nice video, thanks! I have a Hyundai Accent-98 and the fuel pump relay is not located under the hood. I've googled all over without any success. Do you guys know where it's located?
Ah crap, no idea :( . It's gotta be in the fuse box, maybe it's inside under the driver side of the dash below the steering wheel? Those are the typical spots for most cars. Otherwise, you are safe to do the job without the fuel relay trick, just be sure to have a bucket or something ready for all the fuel that will come flying out. Good luck!
Not very hard at all. In fact, you just need the bottom half of the rear seat out which comes out by pulling the two black tabs under the front of it. Shockingly accessible :).
Mine is a 2005 too. Took out the back seat, lifted the gooey pump cover and NO FILTER. What a bummer. I heard that 2003-2006 do not have the external filter.
They all have them, but the 2003 to 2005 have them installed as part of the fuel pump assembly and they are not the same filter. Look up part number 31112-25700
Weekend Agenda excellent ! The indestructible hyundai 1.6 quad valve engine. Use only Mobil 1 synthetic oil and premium gas and it will run strong up past 5500rpm neatly.
My 2004 there was no filter in that spot. Someone said no filter for 2003-2006, I guess he is right. But I changed my fuel pump strainer and fuel pump. The tank was clean as can be.
which year is the car in the video? I looked inside my tank but there is no fuel filter only the fuel pump. According to the video it would seem as though I have the same model and color also. My car is a 2005.
+Jamaal Storr 2002 Hyundai Accent GSi 1.6L. I also had a 2002 1.5 previously and it has the fuel filter in the same spot. Double check to be sure : / they haven't changed much on those cars in decades
+Jamaal Storr it's under the back seat. Bottom of the seat is removable with just pushing in two tabs on the front. You don't have to disassemble the car like we did. And the little hatch should be obvious
yeah, I understand what your saying. However, the fuel filter wasn't on the side of the fuel pump as the picture displays. So I opened the pump thinking it was on the inside or something. there's no extra wire or anything to even attach the filter, but i'll check again hopefully it dropped down some where or maybe it's underneath the car.
Mine os Hyundai Getz. I repalced the fuel filter (Inside tank type) then after, car is hard to start.. How to fix?? I transferred all the rubbers/o-rings to the new fuel filter... Is there a fuel bleeding screw for this gasoline type?
To empty the fuel lines. Because the tank is lower than the engine, so when you disconnect the fuel lines in the back the fuel will come gushing out. By removing the relay you disable the fuel pump so no new fuel is being fed forward from the fuel tank, and the engine keeps going until the remaining fuel in the fuel lines is all used up.
Thanks so much! I know NOTHING about cars, and with the help of this video, I changed the fuel filter 💪👩
don,t worry RUclips is the 24-7 Teacher!!!
I appreciate your humor.
It's not a fuse but a RELAY that you remove in the video
And how about showing how to remove the back seat??... To some , it maybe the hardest part

fuel pump change done, thanks for the tip on empting the fuel lines....just a drop or two. No wet T-shirt contest !!!

So is this the method for a 2015 Accent ad well? How many miles did you have when changing?
Great video. You guys are funny.
Gracias. Me enseñaste algo muy importante y que otros videos no muestran, que es, como vaciar la línea de combustible.
Good job, guys!

Hi guys. Tell us what year this Accent is please!
2002
Wow you don't have to drop the tank? Well how hard is it to take that rear seat out I wonder?
Not very hard at all. In fact, you just need the bottom half of the rear seat out which comes out by pulling the two black tabs under the front of it. Shockingly accessible :).
bless you Hyundai
Good job! Thanks
What year???
Hey guys, if I take out the fuel pump fuse, will the check engine light go on?
Why you put 2016 but this comes up
Mine is a 2005 too. Took out the back seat, lifted the gooey pump cover and NO FILTER. What a bummer. I heard that 2003-2006 do not have the external filter.
I heard it's in the tank.
@@tracydemo6145 me too I'm about to take the pump out and look.
@@oregonwildboy part of sending unit assembly and Hyundai discontinued them now I have to figure out how to bypass and add external filter
So I have a 2004 Hyundai Accent but I have no fuel filter under the back seat
Had the same or very similiar problem in my 2016 Accent, turned out to be the fuel pump relay was bad.
Still got the car?
Thank you
Year?
Did this solve the problem?
+standardIssues67 yes it did :) old fuel filter was completely clogged so engine was not getting enough fuel. New filter solved the problem :)
Some of the Hyundai Accents have them some don’t, just depends on the trim package you like gs, gsl or se. don’t remember which package don’t have
They all have them, but the 2003 to 2005 have them installed as part of the fuel pump assembly and they are not the same filter. Look up part number 31112-25700
@@pnikulak yea I called Hyundai and that internal filter is discontinued. Ridiculous on Hyundai
Will this also work on my 2005 hyundai tiburon?
No the fuel filter is below the brake booster under the hood/bonnet
what year is the car in the vid. you never mention
Hyundai Accent 2002, 1.6L :)

2001 accent hatch
that's strange because my excel x3 99 fuel filter is under the hood right next to the firewall.
I opened my hatch and there's no filter underneath the black cap...
I seriously need help my fuel filter is no where even located there and I’m very confused
Read the service manual of your car.

I just opened mine and there's no filter here either.
@@oregonwildboy it’s built in the sending unit

Jamaal Storr That sucks :( maybe someone was smart and decided to run it without a filter? Let us know what you end up finding
Fuel filter change on what?????
It would hurt mi to kill tha engine like that :'c
This car is at 2003 Hyundai accent the fuel filter location
If the fuel pump making sound like generator that means is damaged. My car making sound on petrol tank
Mine os Hyundai Getz. I repalced the fuel filter (Inside tank type) then after, car is hard to start.. How to fix?? I transferred all the rubbers/o-rings to the new fuel filter... Is there a fuel bleeding screw for this gasoline type?
You might torn your rubber seal or didn’t get in just right for the fuel pump, or fuel line may not be on all the way, and letting air in
Just curious if anyone here had limited RPM issues before fixing fuel pump? Mine won't rev past 3000 rpm while driving
why you removed the fuel pump RELAY!!
why don't you just don't start the engine from the beginning.
I mean what is the purpose of this step
To empty the fuel lines. Because the tank is lower than the engine, so when you disconnect the fuel lines in the back the fuel will come gushing out. By removing the relay you disable the fuel pump so no new fuel is being fed forward from the fuel tank, and the engine keeps going until the remaining fuel in the fuel lines is all used up.
in most cars ythey would have to drop the Gas tank thats about $ 600
this is gonna be real easy since I gutted the shit outta my accent.
I did it but my car still struggling
did you do a compression test
Lori English no yet thanks I changed the all fuel system it getting better thanks
